"Fish Grill Man II (Sakanayakio Ni) - Tokyo: Located about a 3-minute walk from Ueno exit of Shinbashi Station, this izakaya, Fish Grill Man, boasts the largest selection of Japanese sake in Shinbashi, along with delicious fish dishes. We started with their specialty, the "Seared Otoro Mackerel", which was over 30cm long even after removing the head. The thick and meaty mackerel was seared right in front of us and served with freshly grated wasabi, making it a perfect match for sake. The assorted sashimi platter, Saikyo grilled fish, and simmered dashimaki tamago were all excellent choices to pair with sake or other drinks. The Tuna Tartare Yukke with ikura, egg yolk, and pickled daikon was beautifully presented and had a natural, delicious flavor. My favorite dish of the night was the "Fresh Horse Mackerel Fry", featuring a large and fresh horse mackerel with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior, served with bonito salt. The Uwajima-style Tai Meshi at the end was also of high quality and very satisfying for its price. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that left me feeling content. Thank you for the wonderful meal!"

I ordered the all-you-can-drink course. The seared mackerel was seared at the table just before eating, which gave it a powerful taste. The thickness of the fish was not as thick as I expected, but it had a decent thickness. The grilled fish was delicious with a good thickness. One disappointing thing was that even though there was a lot of sake available for all-you-can-drink, I couldn't order it in a glass due to the crowdedness. My friend who was with me didn't drink sake, so I ordered alone, but it was served in a sake decanter, so I couldn't try different types. Next time, I want to aim for a less crowded day where I can order in a glass. It's best to avoid Friday nights.

I went to "Uoyaki Otoko Ni" located about a 4-minute walk from Shinbashi Station Uchisai-guchi on a weekday before the holiday. It was a party with 6 friends from university. The entrance to the restaurant is narrow and located underground in a bustling area, so look for the half-fish man sign. Today's course was 5980 yen with all-you-can-drink option. By making a reservation via Instagram direct message, the selection of Japanese sake for the all-you-can-drink option increases to 100 types. I found both positive aspects and areas for improvement in this restaurant. Positive aspects: - The overall quality of fish dishes such as sashimi and grilled fish was high. The marinated kinmedai (golden eye snapper) was particularly delicious. Although the amount of sashimi was modest, the quality was evident. - The drink ordering process was mobile, eliminating the need to call a waiter each time. The drinks were also served quite promptly, allowing us to enjoy the all-you-can-drink option without stress. - The selection of 100 types of Japanese sake was impressive! Popular brands like Dassai (Daiginjo), Tsuru-ichi, Saku, and Kyuhachi were all available, which was a delight for sake enthusiasts. Areas for improvement: - There was a lack of description for the dishes. While some dishes were explained, others were not, leaving customers guessing. - The presentation of the dishes was lacking. It seemed like more attention could have been paid to the plating and dishware to enhance the overall dining experience. - Some dishes fell short of expectations. For example, the seared mackerel was overcooked, resembling grilled fish more than seared fish. Additionally, the one-bite ochazuke (rice in tea) as the closing dish seemed to lack a clear concept. Despite the areas for improvement, we had an enjoyable time overall. Thank you for the meal! #UoyakiOtokoNi #JapaneseSakeAllYouCanDrink #DeliciousFish #GrilledFish #MobileOrdering #Tabelog #Ron2941 #Foodie #SakeLover #BarHoppingLover Rating for this restaurant: "6" Rating criteria: 1 Worst restaurant 2-3 Not recommended. Don't want to go again. 4 Mediocre 5 Average 6 Quite good 7-8 Recommended 9 Highly recommended 10 Best ever.

I was attracted by the statement that there are 120 types of Japanese sake available! When I visited, I was surprised to find that the store manager seems to like craft beer, and there were also about 10 types of craft beer available. There were so many types of Japanese sake that I didn't know which one to drink, but the store manager recommended various types to me, and I had a great time! The store manager was very easy to talk to, and I feel like I might visit again just to be recommended more Japanese sake by the store manager. I especially liked the test-brewed sake. Please have it available again!

I went to Fish Grill Otoko Shinbashi Honten before, but this time I went to a different branch for the first time for the second party. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake from all over the country. The tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) comes out piping hot and goes well with the sake. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I entered the store without a reservation. I was surprised by the variety of sake available. Although the writing was small, I enjoyed looking at it while trying different sakes and learning about their taste. The food was almost all delicious. The only dish that didn't suit me was the motsu stew. I saw another customer order the mackerel, and when it was grilled, the fat looked amazing, so I couldn't resist ordering it. I thought the mackerel was so good that I would recommend it to my friends. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

I decided to meet up suddenly, so I called a restaurant near Shinbashi Station that I found online and asked, "Is it okay to come now?" The restaurant was full, but they suggested trying their second location, which had availability. It was great to receive such helpful guidance.⁡⁡ At Uoyaki Otoko Ni, a seafood izakaya, we ordered a variety of dishes such as assorted sashimi, octopus tempura, nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and fresh horse mackerel fry, all of which were delicious.⁡⁡ The amazing thing about this place is their wide selection of Japanese sake. They had a list of sake from all 47 prefectures, so we ordered two types at a time in a tokkuri and enjoyed comparing them. Some of the sake we tried were "Gakki Masamune" and "Saku." They also had Shimahanzuru, Dassai, and Nabeshima, allowing us to try many different kinds little by little, which was fun.⁡ You can order via QR code, so you don't need to call the staff. Being able to order on your own smartphone instead of an unfamiliar tablet at the restaurant is convenient.

There is an extraordinary variety of all-you-can-drink sake available at this restaurant, with different brands listed by each of Japan's 47 prefectures. You can choose based on your hometown or favorite prefecture, or simply pick one based on interesting comments. The wide selection ensures that you can always discover something new each time you visit. The food course mainly consists of vegetables and fish that pair well with sake. For those who want something more substantial, ordering additional meat dishes would be a good idea. Personally, I ended up purchasing a sake that I really enjoyed online afterwards. I hope you find your favorite brand too.

I have visited this place several times, but this is my first review. Among all the dishes I have tried, the "Unagi Tamadon" on Tuesdays was particularly delicious. It was great to be able to have eel for lunch. The menu listed it at 1300 yen, but I used a 100 yen discount with my employee ID and got it for 1200 yen. The lunch here includes unlimited mentaiko (spicy cod roe) topping! The side dishes, salad, and drinks are also all-you-can-eat and drink. So in terms of cost performance, it's quite a good deal. A friend ordered the seared mackerel as a closing dish. It was brought over and seared right in front of us, with a generous portion and looked very delicious. They said it was quite fatty and had a lot of food, but I would like to try it someday. The Unagi Tamadon has eel on top of the rolled omelette. The bowl may look small, but it's quite packed with rice. It's very filling! The rolled omelette is slightly sweet and soft but firm. A delicious rolled omelette. The eel is large and the sauce is rich. It's quite a good deal and satisfying to be able to eat all of this at this price. The side dishes, including a miso soup with lots of green onions, were also delicious on this day! There was not much waiting time on this day. The employee ID system and points card are also interesting services. Thank you for the meal.

There was no curry with shrimp fry as I had hoped, it was only available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I wanted to reschedule, but my companion insisted on having beef tongue. I settled for the sashimi set meal. You can have unlimited rice, miso soup, and spicy cod roe. The side dishes were all carefully made and delicious. Even just the side dishes without a main dish seemed good. There were also apples and lychees. We got a 100 yen discount as it was past 1 o'clock.

Today I wanted to eat sashimi and grilled fish. I decided to have lunch at an izakaya in Shinbashi and headed down a narrow alley. I was caught in a sudden rain shower, but it quickly stopped as I tried to return to my office nearby. I saw a sign for "all-you-can-eat obanzai" but I was intrigued by the Japanese restaurant "Hanamizuki" across the street. I couldn't tell if people were waiting to be seated or just coming out, so I gave up. I was welcomed with a loud cheer at the izakaya, which I hadn't visited in a while. I ordered the daily special, Nishikyo-yaki grilled fish set for 1000 yen. I was told the type of fish, but I forgot. I went to get a plate of about seven obanzai dishes and salad. This is nice, there are so many side dishes. I asked for extra rice, but if I could have gotten a refill, a normal portion would have been fine. The plate was filled with plenty of rice. I couldn't identify the yellow topping on the salad. Was it raw pumpkin? I thought it was tortilla. I took a lot. The salad had tomatoes, lettuce, pickled purple cabbage. There were two types of dressing, and I chose the sesame dressing. The obanzai included simmered pumpkin, fuki (butterbur), eggplant, chicken in tomato sauce, macaroni salad, bamboo shoots, and more. I put a little bit of each in small dishes. There was also mentaiko included, which was also all-you-can-eat. There were many types of tea to choose from, such as hojicha, sencha, and iced coffee. The miso soup was not self-service for refills. I thought the Nishikyo-yaki was delicious. The fish was tender and had a hint of miso flavor. I felt like I had too much food with all the side dishes and rice. I was full and satisfied. I received a discount coupon with a stamp card, so next time it will be cheaper. They call this place the "employee cafeteria." You can eat for 500 yen when you collect enough stamps. They offer one free item for employees to choose from: 100 yen off, sashimi, ice cream, draft beer, cola, or ginger ale. It's definitely a place you'd want to visit again.

Today's lunch is here. It's called "Sakanayakio", which is written as "魚焼男". The unique naming and cute but creepy sign caught my attention. I was satisfied when I visited the main store the other day, so this time I came to this "弐" branch. I checked the lunch menu on the A-board outside and decided on the sashimi five-piece set meal, then descended the stairs leading to the underground restaurant. A white and indigo noren with the words "Those in Shinbashi are the ones moving Japan" welcomed me. I arrived at 12:30 on a Tuesday. As I entered the entrance on the basement floor, a female staff member greeted me in the hall. The interior of the restaurant is a bit complex, with even a second floor and cozy seating options. I was guided to a table for two in the back. I ordered as planned, "Sashimi five-piece set meal, please!" The staff mentioned, "You can choose from large, medium, or regular rice portions," to which I replied, "Large, please!" Then she asked, "Would you like to add mentaiko?" and I said, "Yes, please." After that, she informed me, "Payment is required in advance." I took out a 1,000 yen bill from my wallet and made the payment. I then got up to get some side dishes and salad from the buffet-style salad bar, returned to my seat with a modest amount, and waited for about 2 minutes. The tray of sashimi five-piece set was brought to me. Today's daily five pieces were Thai snapper, bonito, Spanish mackerel, salmon, and young yellowtail. The staff explained them to me. This sashimi five-piece set comes with all-you-can-eat side dishes, salad, rice, and fish head soup for only 1,000 yen. It's a great deal. I poured soy sauce into a small dish, put wasabi on the sashimi, dipped it in soy sauce, and then ate it with rice. The freshness and quality of the sashimi are decent, not as high-end as in luxury restaurants. The fish head soup had no fishy smell and was full of umami. The miso's saltiness was subdued, which I liked. The prepayment system and the buffet-style side dishes, salad, and drinks being self-serve are a bit different from the main store. In this day and age, it's a bit concerning to see multiple people touching tongs and such. Nevertheless, the service and interior of the restaurant were clean and bright enough, making it a decent place. Thank you for the meal today.

I can't forget the shrimp curry from the closed shrimp specialty store, so whenever I see something with "shrimp curry" in the name, I can't help but order it. I visited a bit far from my company using a shared bicycle. When I tried it out, I couldn't really taste the shrimp flavor in the curry itself. The fried shrimp had a thick batter. The buffet of side dishes felt like a good deal. If I come back next time, I might go for something fish-based.

I had visited this restaurant several times before, but this was my first time at Nii. They serve lunch until 3 pm, which is convenient for a late lunch. The variety of dishes available for around 1,000 yen is such a great deal! On this day, I had sashimi, and I got 5 types with 2 slices each! Additionally, you can freely choose from 7 side dishes, 5 types of drinks, and have unlimited refills of rice, miso soup, and salad. The seating was spacious, allowing for a leisurely and relaxing dining experience. They also offer a wide range of grilled fish options, so I plan to visit again soon to try the Saikyo-style grilled fish. ✨✨✨

Seafood curry lunch at 1000 yen, satisfaction level is twelve out of ten! In addition to the main dish, there is also a side dish bar and a drink bar included in this price! I thought the main dish might be a bit lacking, but it turned out to have two large prawns without any coating. The curry itself is flavored with the taste of prawns and has been carefully prepared, very delicious. It would be even better if there was a bit more curry sauce, but overall, this is a very satisfying lunch!

Located in a dense area of izakayas sandwiched between Yurakucho and Akarenga streets in Shinbashi 3-chome, this restaurant used to offer lunch only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, but after the state of emergency was lifted, they started serving lunch every day from Monday to Friday. There were even staff members outside the stairs leading to the basement promoting the lunch menu. Intrigued by the offer of "you can freely choose your obanzai dishes," I decided to give it a try. The restaurant had a clear separation between non-smoking and smoking areas. The staff seemed energetic. After being seated, I was given an explanation of the restaurant's system and placed my order. I opted for the "Rich! Fish Nishikyo-yaki" lunch set for 1,000 yen. Payment was done in advance. The obanzai dishes were displayed in a buffet style, where customers could freely choose and serve themselves using tongs. Despite some reservations about this self-service method, I couldn't resist the appeal of being able to choose and serve my favorite dishes in small portions. I selected stir-fried mustard greens and pork, watercress and roast beef salad, and kinpira gobou from the seven options available that day. For drinks, there were choices like coffee, genmaicha, hojicha, orange juice, and sencha. I chose hojicha this time. Upon returning to my seat with the obanzai dishes and drink, the staff brought a salad plate to accompany the meal. The salad included cabbage, salad greens, red cabbage, bell peppers, tomatoes, and was colorful and fresh. Additionally, rice, miso soup, and mentaiko were served with the meal, with the option for refills. The meal was further complemented by the arrival of the Nishikyo-yaki, which was identified as "Ginmutsu" by the staff but is commonly known as "Melon" nowadays. It had bones near the tail but was flavorful with ample fat, which I personally enjoyed. The miso soup had a good fish flavor, and the overall experience of being able to enjoy a variety of dishes made it a pleasant izakaya lunch with great service. It seemed like the place would thrive once the crowds returned.

I used a 4180 yen coupon on a coupon site. It was advertised as all-you-can-drink with 10 dishes and over 90 types of Japanese sake, but in reality, there were 116 types available. Impressive. While it's common for fish izakayas to also offer meat dishes, the 10 dishes served here were all fish-based, except for the fried chicken cartilage. They were all generously portioned, including the sashimi. The service for drinks was quick and they were open to feedback about the sake selection. The location is a bit hidden in a back street in Shinbashi, but the interior is surprisingly spacious and clean. You can enjoy lively discussions about Japanese sake here, making it a good spot for a date as well.

Tonight, we went to a place in Shinbashi where you can enjoy all-you-can-drink sake. It's been about 5 months since our last visit, and the same group of friends joined me. We opted for a course where you can choose from over 90 different types of sake, and we ended up trying 15 different varieties. My older brother made most of the choices, and we definitely had a good time drinking tonight. We tried sakes like Karaho, Bakuren, Kido, Sawaya Matsumoto, Nanahonsyari, Nabeshima, Haneya, Kunimare, Kyuhei, and more. The food was decent too, with classics like seared mackerel, hokke fish, sashimi, and fried dishes. If you're a sake lover looking to drink in Shinbashi, this is the place to go.

Located underground in the mid-zone between Yanagi Street and Akarenga Street, near Shinbashi and Sakurada Park, is the second branch of a grilled fish izakaya. I visited for lunch, but they were not open on my first two attempts. On my third try, I finally got in. They offer lunch service from Tuesday to Thursday, with options including sashimi, nodoguro, and grilled fish. I chose the grilled fish for 1000 yen upfront, which turned out to be nishikyo-yaki. I also asked for the free mentaiko campaign. I helped myself to vegetable juice from the drink bar, and within 4 minutes, I was served three small side dishes and a salad. I enjoyed the dressing on the salad. After 12 minutes, the rice, miso soup, and mentaiko arrived. I mixed the mentaiko with the rice and enjoyed it with the side dishes. Finally, at 14 minutes, the grilled fish was served. It had a good, not too sweet flavor and firm flesh, which I finished completely. I spent a total of 20 minutes there.
