Tachikawa's favorite cafe #2. The interior is spacious with sofa seats, perfect for relaxing. The hotcakes are simple yet delicious. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the coffee at Sarutahiko, but the food selection is great. Each store has its own unique style, and the staff are always polite and gentlemanly, which I appreciate.

Sarutahiko Coffee, Takashimaya S.C. Store in Tachikawa
While strolling around Tachikawa city after getting caught in the rain, I sought shelter at Takashimaya S.C. store. It had been almost 30 years since I last visited Takashimaya, and the department store had already closed down, presenting a completely different appearance inside. I went up to the second floor and found "Sarutahiko Coffee" for a break. The uniquely shaped interior was almost full, so I ended up sitting at the counter right next to the barista. Despite a line of 4 to 5 people waiting to order, I chose to have a drip coffee. I watched the barista's meticulous brewing process while waiting for my order. Soon, the buzzer rang, and the barista next to me handed me the cup. The blend was perfectly roasted to my liking. Due to the rain, more customers gradually filled up the shop, making it almost full. Although it would normally be a quiet café away from the station, it was a bit noisy that day due to the rain. Disappointing.

I found this restaurant on the 2nd floor of Takashimaya before a movie starting at 12:20. I was curious about the taste of the Masala Chicken hot sandwich, so I asked the female staff if it was spicy. She said it wasn't spicy, but it was spicy. Intrigued, I decided to try it. To be safe, I chose a Honey Latte for 650 yen as my drink. Before the buzzer for my order was called, they brought it to my table. The "Masala Chicken with Edamame and Young Corn" for 680 yen was indeed not spicy, but had a strong spice flavor. The combination of the crunchy texture of edamame and corn with the soft spiciness of the Masala Chicken was quite delicious. The latte was a bit sweet, but the coffee base was tasty, so it didn't affect my meal. As I saw "EBISU" on the sign, I briefly wondered if it was related to Sapporo Beer or had its main branch in Ebisu. Then I headed to the 8th floor for the movie theater.

I went there for the election campaign as well. It's a bit pricey, but the chairs are really comfortable and it's nice to spend time there. If you bring the official app coupon and your own tumbler, you can get a little discount. The staff are all kind and friendly, some may even strike up a conversation with you (whether you find that enjoyable may vary). When you're looking at the menu by the storefront, they might suggest looking at the menu near the register, so personally, I would appreciate being able to take my time to check out today's lineup and prices from the official app.

In Fuchu City, the only department store, Isetan, has closed down, and in Tachikawa City, Takashimaya has also closed. However, the cinema, Kino Cinema, the cafe, Sarutahiko Coffee, and the restaurant street are still open, which is great. I came to Isetan in Tachikawa to buy summer gifts and also watched a movie at Kino Cinema, which is located near the former Takashimaya. I then enjoyed the afterglow of the movie at Sarutahiko Coffee. The movie "Tenor: Life is Harmony" was about the luxurious and magnificent Garnier Palace at the Opera House. It took many years to convince someone to film it, and it was worth it. The opera teacher in the movie was very charming, and the film was filled with humor, stylishness, and lovely smiles. It was an enjoyable movie where you could also listen to understandable opera. In the end, I shed tears of joy.

After lunch, I went to Sarutahiko Coffee for tea! It's located in Takashimaya. I have used the ones in Chofu, Sengawa, and Ebisu before, but this was my first time in Tachikawa! I like the slightly subdued lighting here. I always thought Sarutahiko Coffee was crowded, but it was empty this time. I tried the new Sarutahiko Cafe Latte and the regular Cafe Latte. The new one is said to be richer! I compared them with a friend! The smaller size is the new Sarutahiko. It is indeed rich! The regular one is milder and easier to drink. I prefer this one. We leisurely sipped our drinks, chatted, and were satisfied. They also have food menu options like hot sandwiches, so it seems like you can have lunch here too. I'm curious about their Japanese sweets.

After eating ramen, I want to go to a cafe. 5 minutes walk from Tachikawa Station. Hojicha latte 640 yen, taste 3.7/CP 3.7. Vanilla ice cream 350 yen, taste 3.7/CP 3.7. Overall, it gives a dark impression but I like the calm atmosphere. Since there are many solo customers, it's easy for me to go. I ordered caramel flavor ice cream but got vanilla ice cream instead. Oh well, I took a bite. Delicious!! Thank you for the meal. I will come back again. A recommended cafe for solo customers, dates, or with family.

I visited the restaurant around 4:00 PM and it was about half full. I ordered the Raspberry Chocolate for 500 yen and the Sarutahiko Cafe Latte for 600 yen. I received a notification buzzer, then waited at a table for a while. After about 5 minutes, the buzzer went off and I went to the counter to pick up my order. The cake was sweet and sour and nicely chilled. The chocolate was rich and delicious. The cafe latte came in a large paper cup with a cute heart design drawn in cream. The stylish interior made for a pleasant dining experience. I enjoyed the food very much. Thank you for the meal!

I had a hot sandwich for the first time. The bread had a hint of sweetness and was delicious. It was filled with plenty of vegetables, mozzarella, and basil sauce, which were all tasty. The calming atmosphere at Sarutahiko Coffee is also nice. The staff members are all friendly.

I stopped by for lunch. I ordered a single pancake and a drip coffee. You can choose between 1 to 3 pancakes. I ordered 3, but be careful because it can be quite filling. You can also choose the type of coffee beans for the drip coffee. There are several options, so you can choose your favorite. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice and cozy. The tables have a bit of rust and chipping, which adds to the retro vibe, and I didn't mind it. The seats in the back have cushions, making it comfortable to sit, but you lose the view and natural light from the window. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. You can choose between orange syrup and regular maple syrup, and I recommend the orange one. The staff suggested that if you order pancakes, a light roast coffee is a good match. They helped me choose the beans, which left a good impression.

I'm at Tachikawa Takashimaya (^ω^) There were breads at the entrance (^o^) When I looked at the menu inside, I saw that if you register on the app, you get 50% off on food or drinks o(^o^)o Can I download it now? When I asked, they said sure (*^_^*) I looked at the app and it only mentioned drinks so I asked the staff and they said food is also included ('-^*) yay! What do you recommend? They said the hot sandwich. I topped my hot sandwich with ice cocoa and ice ♪ I wanted vanilla pudding flavor but they only had milk (^_^;) that's okay, I like milk too (´V`)♪ There were many seats at the counter and sofa seats on the right and left (^o^) It was calm and relaxing because it was not crowded (^ー^*) They have Wi-Fi (*´∀`*)ノ You can use points starting from 1 point ⭐ Can I take a picture of the ice cream because I want to post it on Tabelog? I asked, and they said sure! Next time, I want to try the cheesecake♪

Located about a 3-4 minute walk from Tachikawa Station, on the 2nd floor of Takashimaya, is Sarutahiko Coffee. I had been wanting to visit this coffee shop for a while. The café latte is rich and easy to drink, with a fluffy foam of milk that is delicious. The lemon pie has a refreshing acidity from the lemon cream, a nicely browned meringue, and tasty pie crust at the bottom. The spacious interior of the shop feels safe and welcoming. You pay upfront and are given a bell to call your order. There is also bread available on the left side of the entrance. The pancakes also look delicious.

This is a cafe with a calm atmosphere on the 2nd floor of Takashimaya. On this day, I ordered a BBQ pulled pork hot sandwich, hotcakes, and orange juice. You can choose 1-3 hotcakes freely. You can also add toppings like ice cream or whipped cream. The hot sandwich was crispy, not too hot, and not too strong in flavor, perfect for a light hunger in the evening. The hotcakes were the classic type, not like the trendy souffle pancakes. The buttery saltiness, maple syrup, and the slight sweetness of the hotcakes complemented each other well.

On a holiday, I visited with my child. Despite the spacious area, it was always full. Luckily, I found a seat and placed a reservation sign on it. I ordered a cheesecake and an iced coffee at the crowded counter, then received a buzzer to notify me when my order was ready. The iced coffee was strong and went well with the cake. The cheesecake had a unique spicy flavor, which might not be to everyone's taste. The staff were polite and the bright, spacious interior had a nice atmosphere. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance.

I had an iced coffee. I came to drink coffee to quench my thirst after enjoying cherry blossom cycling with my wife at Showa Kinen Park. Today's coffee was non-standard, but it had a unique flavor and was very delicious. It started with a cocoa flavor, and as time passed, it became fruity with a light and refreshing taste, not too strong or bitter. It was easy to drink and very tasty.

I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. It's usually crowded on weekends, but I was able to get in right away on a weekday, which was nice. I had the Rich Latte in tall size for 580 yen, and it was delicious. The coffee flavor was strong, but the milk was also rich, which I really liked. I also tried the Chai Latte in small size for 540 yen, which was a bit sweet but had a nice balance of spices. The cafe has spacious seating with a couple of sofa seats. It's located on the 2nd floor of Takashimaya, so it's convenient being close to the station. I would definitely like to visit again.

The first visit was in early winter 2019. I stopped by after running errands nearby, but even on a weekday, there was a long line and the seats were full, so I had to give up waiting. This time, a friend who enjoys morning activities told me that Satoruhiko also has decaf drip coffee, so I decided to buy some for myself. A few days later, I tried dripping it at home for a coffee break after dinner. When I opened the package, there was a deep, rich aromatic scent, reminiscent of old beans. After steaming the grounds and slowly dripping hot water, the familiar blend aroma filled the air. Sipping it, I could taste a subtle, bittersweet chocolate-like fragrance. The carefully roasted decaf had a taste that was just as good as regular coffee, with a smooth mouthfeel that I enjoyed. It felt strong, but the aftertaste was pleasant. It was a decaf drip bag that made me want to drink it again on a leisurely evening. I would definitely like to buy it again. Thank you for the meal.

After receiving a health check-up in Tachikawa, I came to Sarutahiko Coffee Tachikawa Takashimaya store. I have been to the main store in Ebisu once before. I ordered a grande iced coffee for 540 yen including tax. It has a bit of bitterness, but it is an easy-to-drink coffee. It wasn't too crowded, maybe because it's a weekday, and the interior of the store is comfortable.

I fell ill on my way to school and decided to skip training school. Since I had come all the way to Tachikawa, I decided to watch a movie at Takashimaya. I watched a social film called "Official Secrets" based on a true story. It was comforting to know that there are courageous people out there. I visited the café on the second floor of Takashimaya. They had coffee from El Salvador for 770 yen, which was a bit pricey but I have no regrets because the name was nice. The taste was okay, somewhat fruity. Most of all, it reminded me of the movie "Salvador" I watched in the past. Next time, I plan to watch "The Specials" and have coffee here again. It reminded me of my forgotten sense of justice.

JR Tachikawa Station is less than a 5-minute walk from the north exit. If you take the monorail to Tachikawa-Kita Station, it's right there. This coffee shop is located on the second floor of Takashimaya in Tachikawa and has a calm atmosphere. It's a relatively new shop in Tachikawa. I usually visit Ise Jingu Shrine every year, and on those occasions, I visit Futamiura, Geku, Naiku, and Sarutahiko Shrine in that order. Sarutahiko is considered the god of guidance and the land. Well, I don't know why this shop has such a striking name... When I asked the staff if this was an Ise coffee shop, they said the main store is in Ebisu. That's in the city! This time, I chose the "Today's Drip Coffee," which is essentially the same as the "coffee of the day" in other places! It was a tall size and cost 398 yen including tax. Later, I found out that if you reuse it on the same day, you can get the same coffee for 186 yen excluding tax by showing the receipt. It seems that this is how things work with coffee of the day! I didn't notice, so I ended up getting a chai latte (490 yen including tax) for my refill... Light meals like hot sandwiches are also available, starting from around 550 yen including tax. The taste of the hot sandwich was average, but it was nice that they made it after I ordered it and handed it to me fresh. It may take a little time when it's crowded, though. The staff are calm, and the atmosphere of the shop is mature, with many fans. I was surprised to find it almost full on a weekday afternoon. But I stayed for a while (laughs) and it was comfortable. Tachikawa's Takashimaya is quietly interesting with its restaurant district, so I might go again. I hope the situation with COVID-19 gets better soon. Thank you for the meal!
