I had a light lunch at the 1st floor of Tachikawa IKEA. When I went to the restaurant on the 2nd floor, there was quite a long line (about 30 people), so I gave up and went to the 1st floor. They had cute small soft-serve ice cream for 50 yen! I got a set with a veggie dog, fried chicken, and a drink for 360 yen. The veggie dog was small but good! The fried chicken made me want a beer! For drinks, they had sparkling water, so I added lemon sparkling, pear sparkling, and raspberry sparkling to enjoy 3 different drinks (delicious!). The take-out deli items were also appealing! (Please see the photos) Fish & Chips, Veggie Balls with Ragout Sauce, Plant Balls, Swedish Meatballs, Free-range Beef Hamburger, Free-range Chicken Karaage BOX all looked great for souvenirs as well.

When you come to IKEA, you might get caught up in the pace of taking a breather here before heading home. But if it's only 50 or 100 yen, I'll definitely stop by. The taste matches the price, but at this point in the visit, with these prices and offerings, I'll be satisfied and ready to head home.

IKEA, known for its Swedish assembled furniture, has become a familiar furniture store in Japan. One of the popular items at IKEA is their hot dog. Today, in Tachikawa, Tokyo, the hot dog at IKEA Tachikawa costs only 80 yen. The store is spacious, offering good exercise as you walk around. After shopping, you can find the food court where the hot dog is available. It is surprisingly priced at 80 yen, with soft serve ice cream for only 50 yen. The hot dog is served hot and simple, allowing you to add ketchup and mustard as you like. It reminds me of the hot dogs I had in New York. The sausage is boiled and has a nice snap to it. I personally like to add extra ketchup and mustard. It's a quick and tasty snack to enjoy while shopping at IKEA.

If you're going to drink, this place is the best - it has a large portion size but is also very affordable.

IKEA is like the Costco of furniture. They have a restaurant and a cafe-like area where you can get snacks. They also sell some food items. At this IKEA, if you don't make a purchase, you have to pay a 1000 yen parking fee. However, if you buy something, parking is free. But items purchased at the bistro don't count. I bought a 100g milk chocolate for 100 yen at the food store. It was an imported product, so it had a unique sweetness and a rich, lingering taste. It was smooth and enjoyable.

When visiting IKEA, I always make sure to stop by the "Swedish Food Market", and recently I found myself buying multiple packs of their raspberry-flavored cookies. The packaging is cute, and the design of the cookies (both front and back) is also adorable. I especially love the gooey jam filling inside. There is also a chocolate flavor available, but I definitely prefer the raspberry one. I initially thought these were Swedish cookies, but when I checked the back, it said "Country of Origin: Germany". Surprising.

When you go to IKEA in Tachikawa, you can't help but stop by the Sweden Food Market and end up buying something. It feels like wandering around a foreign supermarket, and it's a fun experience. You can also buy the items served in the restaurant on the second floor. I really like this Swedish chocolate "Daim". Every time I go, there are various sizes and versions of Daim for sale, and today they had this extra large bag of XXL size. The chocolate has a slightly salty taste inside, which adds a subtle sweet and salty flavor that becomes addictive.

It hasn't been long since I last went, but I went again. IKEA has a lot of unique food items, and just looking at them puts me in a good mood. It can get really crowded on Sundays and holidays, but if you go at a different time, it's less busy and you can relax and enjoy browsing. Before there was an IKEA in Tachikawa, I used to go to the one in Shin-Misato, so now it's more convenient for me to go and I'm grateful for that. Even if I haven't been for a while, once I start going again, I find myself wanting to go back to IKEA over and over.

It's been a while since I visited IKEA in Tachikawa. I enjoyed a snack at the bistro, had dinner at the restaurant, and ended with shopping for food at the food market. It's great that you can get various ingredients used in IKEA's bistro and restaurant. I was unsure of what to buy this time, but ended up getting potato chips and chocolate. Since it was a shopping trip after a satisfying dinner, I opted for snacks rather than main ingredients. I look forward to enjoying them as snacks in the days to come.

I didn't know that Iroka (Farmers Market) on the 1st floor of the building near the Akebono entrance of Showa Kinen Park had closed, so I was disappointed when I went out, but then I saw IKEA in the distance. I had a short stay on the East Coast of the United States and had also been to IKEA there (pronounced "Eye-kee-ah" in the US), so I didn't feel like going to the newly opened IKEA in Tachikawa, but the closure of Iroka Farmers Market made me reset my past thoughts and I decided to give it a try. I entered from the 1st floor entrance of IKEA and while looking at the Swedish food displayed in the Sweden Food Market at the back of IKEA Bistro, I found some nice IKEA drinks (blueberry drink, rose hip drink) and raspberry & blueberry jam, so I bought them to try. I usually don't drink sweet drinks because I'm wary of gaining water weight and consuming too many calories, but these blueberry drink and rose hip drink from IKEA are not too sweet even though they are labeled as containing sugar, and they are low in calories. I really liked them! I drank them without worry because they are low in calories. Also, the raspberry & blueberry jam is very delicious. When topped on bread or yogurt, it's my favorite taste. The IKEA Restaurant & Café, IKEA Bistro, and the separate Sweden Food Market at IKEA Sendai and IKEA Funabashi were already registered, but the Sweden Food Market at the back of IKEA Tachikawa was not registered, so I registered it. Remember to bring your own shopping bag as they charge for bags at IKEA.

IKEA Tachikawa is located about a 15-minute walk from JR Tachikawa Station North Exit, and about a 7-minute walk from Tama Monorail Takamatsu Station. It is a Swedish food market on the first floor of IKEA Tachikawa, located between the Kokuritsu Byoin-mae intersection and the Jichidai Daigaku-mae intersection on Nishi Odori. I purchased 15 pieces of CHOKLAD LJUS milk chocolate for 99 yen each and KAFFEREP chocolate cookies for 199 yen. The CHOKLAD LJUS milk chocolate is inexpensive and quite good in quality.

It's been a while since I visited IKEA. I usually go to the Kohoku store, so it's been a while since I visited the Tachikawa store. I casually looked around at the products. It's always so spacious! I wonder if they are already starting to discontinue some items? It's disappointing when the item you're looking for is no longer available. As I walked around, I started to feel thirsty. I thought about going to the restaurant, but it was crowded, so I bought something cold and decided to head back home. I bought a Café au Lait Soft Serve (120 yen) and a Soft Serve Ice Cream (50 yen). The ice cream is really cheap, isn't it? As for the Café au Lait, is this the right one? I wonder if the hot dogs are still as reasonably priced as before? Overall, it seems like imported items have become more expensive. I don't feel like it's as affordable as it used to be. Thank you for the meal.

I found some colorful donuts in the showcase and decided to buy a blue and yellow Swedish-colored one without even tasting it. I also bought a Maple Pecan Danish, which reminded me of Sweden. When I tried them at home, the blue and yellow donut turned out to be soda-flavored, while the Maple Pecan was sweet and delicious. In addition, I purchased Lingonberry Jam, Dark Roast Coffee, Cream Cheese with Pineapple, and Whole Wheat Crackers. IKEA offers a free box for purchases over 2000 yen, which was a nice touch. IKEA has an online shop, but unfortunately, the food market items are not available online.

The cinnamon roll was a bit disappointing as the shelf board I purchased at the time was missing. I went back to IKEA for a rematch and bought the meatballs. When baked in the oven, they were delicious! The remaining meatballs paired well with store-bought mapo tofu noodles and Chinese-style dishes. Considering the amount, these meatballs are a great deal!
