"Tokyo Kaikan Drape", a French restaurant, opened in Hibiya. Located in the newly opened "Toho Hibiya Promenade Building" in Hibiya, between Hibiya Midtown and Peninsula building. The concept of the restaurant is like a "theater", where the cooking and serving process is presented as entertainment. The name "Drape" symbolizes the opening of the curtain in a theater, creating a sense of excitement as if a glamorous show is about to begin. The restaurant offers traditional French cuisine from the over 100-year-old Tokyo Kaikan in a bistro-style setting where guests can enjoy a la carte dishes. The chef, Kenji Sugi, who trained at renowned French restaurants in France, brings his expertise to create a unique dining experience. The lunch menu includes plate lunches with dishes like Egg Mayo, Quiche Lorraine, and Meat Sauce Gratin, along with dessert options. The restaurant's signature Maron Chantilly dessert is a must-try. The ambiance is bright and welcoming, perfect for a post-movie or theater visit. Overall, Tokyo Kaikan Drape offers a delightful dining experience with impeccable hospitality.

On 2023/09/23 (Sat), before watching the theater show "M. Kuntze & S. Levi's World - 3rd Season," I had lunch with my VEL friend. We enjoyed a reservation-only lunch plan with one drink included. The drink was grapefruit juice, and the seasonal soup was pumpkin soup. The plate lunch included salad, egg mayo, marinated purple cabbage, quiche Lorraine, hash brown casserole, and mushroom terrine. For dessert, we had mango jelly and coffee. We dined at "Tokyo Kaikan Drape" located at Yurakucho 1-5-2, Toho Hibiya Promenade Building 2F. The restaurant's phone number is 050-3177-2770, and it is open from Monday to Saturday and holidays from 11:00 to 22:00, and on Sundays from 11:00 to 21:00. The restaurant has no regular holidays. Despite receiving the news of Sugar's absence, my friend's company and encouragement helped me enjoy the concert without feeling too down. I am incredibly grateful for having such a kind and supportive friend who went out of their way to lift my spirits. Thank you so much! #lunch #Tokyo lunch #Yurakucho lunch #Hibiya lunch #Hibiya Promenade Building #Tokyo Kaikan Drape #reservation-only lunch #plate lunch #pre-theater meal #KL concert #Level Vets #Takanori Sato #grateful for a supportive friend #best friend #happiness of having a supportive friend.

Dinner experience. The location is very convenient, right near Hibiya Station, and compared to other restaurants, there is relatively no wait time to be seated. However, the dinner was full, possibly due to the limited seating. We ordered a la carte, including the Ufumayo salad, mango and shrimp avocado salad, grilled chicken, and mini Mont Blanc. All the dishes were well seasoned and beautifully presented. It was enjoyable to choose from creatively crafted menu items that are familiar yet unique. The service was also great. There was a wide variety of wine options, and many people were ordering courses while enjoying their drinks. Personally, I was very happy to be able to taste Mont Blanc in Hibiya.

I visited the building next to Hibiya Midtown during lunchtime when it wasn't too crowded. I reserved a lunch course at the counter seat, which came with a toast drink, a generous appetizer basket, cornbread, butter like candy, a choice of four main dishes, blancmange dessert, and a post-meal drink. The atmosphere was great, and I was able to enjoy a leisurely lunch.

I had a light lunch at this newly opened restaurant in the spring and I thought I would come back again! I made a reservation through the restaurant's website. I had the Plate Lunch (with one drink, coffee included for 2,800 yen). The white wine served was Chardonnay and it was delicious. Before the plate, they served soup and bread. The vichyssoise looked small at first, but it had a depth of flavor and was satisfying. I love cold soups in the summer. The quiche, pate de campagne, foie gras gratin with meat sauce, marinated purple cabbage, and colorful salad with French dressing were all delicious. The apricot jam was recommended to go with the bread. The fresh salad was plentiful and I enjoyed it. The "Ufumayo," a soft-boiled egg with mayonnaise sauce and mango puree, was adorable. The hard baguette and fluffy cornbread were perfect accompaniments to the plate. I thought it would be a light lunch, but I was pleasantly full after eating (^_-) This lunch included wine and coffee, making it a great deal! I definitely want to try their other courses in the future. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, so you don't need to dress up, which is nice. The restaurant was full of women but the atmosphere was not too noisy.

The stylish restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Toho Hibiya Promenade Building was already completed before I knew it. Inside, there were stylish counters and table seats, and as far as the eye could see, it was all women. It seems to be a restaurant perfect for girls' gatherings. I ordered a drink called "Sumire Soda." It seemed to be made because there is a Tokyo Takarazuka Theater nearby. If you have a ticket for the day's performance at a theater near Hibiya, it seems you can get a discount, so it might be a good idea to bring it. I ordered a plate lunch. The bread seemed to be all-you-can-eat, and when I finished eating, the staff brought me more bread. The corn bread was very delicious, so I recommend it. I regret not getting a refill of the corn bread if I had known I would be so full. The plate had various side dishes, all of which were delicious and elegant. I was too full to have dessert, but it looked delicious, so I'll look forward to it next time.

This day was busy with last-minute plans, but I managed to visit this restaurant. It's a casual French place, so it feels easy to drop by. I couldn't take photos of all the dishes that came out, but I managed to snap a picture of the dessert. Thank you for the meal!

I used it from 6:00 pm on Sunday. It was a private reservation, so I was able to talk with my friends without any hesitation in a wonderful space with excellent service from the staff. I also took pictures of the beautiful lighting in the open kitchen. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

At Tokyo Kaikan, you can enjoy French cuisine in a casual atmosphere with dishes like bouillabaisse, Polish-style, Morney, and Supreme using classic sauces. These are hard to come by nowadays but you can easily share them a la carte. While the taste may not be outstanding, it is not a problem at all. You can have a light meal, enjoy wine, and even have Mont Blanc for dessert. The restaurant seems to be very user-friendly.

I had lunch at Drape, which I was curious about. I reserved a plan for 6100 yen through Ikyu. The menu included: ● Today's assorted appetizers ● Main dish: Pan-fried sea bass with beurre blanc sauce ● Original baguette & cornbread ● Dessert trio plate ● Coffee. The portion was smaller than expected, which was a bit disappointing. The bread and butter were delicious. The view from the window seat was nice, but the space between tables was too narrow, making it uncomfortable. If you want to relax, I think Tokyo Kaikan would be better. My friend ordered a birthday plate (extra charge), which was delicate and cute. The quality was high, and I thought it was well done.

First visit. I made a reservation about 2 weeks ago. I visited at 12 o'clock on the weekend, and it always feels like the seats are full. I had the plate lunch for 1,980 yen and the cheesecake plate for 990 yen. The plate lunch comes with the plate shown in the photo, seasonal soup, and bread. The soup has a gentle flavor and goes well with the delicious bread. However... 1,980 yen for this may be a little expensive. What I liked was the cheesecake plate for dessert. The fluffy cheesecake, like mousse, was rich but light and delicious!

Visited on a weekday from 11:00 to 12:40. The weather was cloudy. It was my first visit to this restaurant operated by Tokyo Kaikan. I made a reservation and I'm glad I did because it was fully booked when I arrived. The clientele seemed to be on the older side, mostly women. I had the Plate Lunch for 1,980 yen. They started with bread and soup, both delicious. The corn bread was particularly sweet and tasty. The Plate Lunch included salad, oofmayo, carrot rapé, quiche Lorraine, Dofino gratin with meat sauce, and pate de campagne. I also ordered dessert and a drink. The drinks were quite expensive, but they did come with complimentary refills. I had the Apple Pie Glass for 1,100 yen, Earl Grey tea for 990 yen, and Chestnut Mont Chantilly for 1,760 yen. I also tried the Special Blend tea for 880 yen. Despite the high prices, I appreciated that they didn't rush me to leave and I could relax and enjoy my meal. The service was attentive, with water refills and overall good service.

In March 2023, a new restaurant called "Tokyo Kaikan Drape" opened in the Toko Hibiya Promenade Building 2F, where you can enjoy classical French cuisine in a casual setting. The original Tokyo Kaikan was opened in 1922, making it 101 years old this year. The new restaurant "Drape" aims to provide a place where people can enjoy French cuisine in a more casual way. I ordered the Plate Lunch for 1,980 yen, which allows you to enjoy a variety of dishes in small portions. I also tried the Mini Mont Blanc for 1,100 yen and Earl Grey tea for 700 yen. Tokyo Kaikan is known for its chestnut Mont Blanc, and the one I had was filled with plenty of Japanese chestnuts in a creamy white center, satisfying even in a small size. They also offer tea time starting from 2 pm, but you can enjoy it a bit earlier if the place is not too crowded. Located conveniently next to the Peninsula Hotel across the Hibiya Street, this place seems perfect for tea time, especially when Midtown and other popular areas are crowded. It's within walking distance from Ginza and Marunouchi, making it a useful spot to keep in mind. You can find more information on my blog.

I visited a French restaurant that opened two months ago in March 2023 on the 2nd floor of the Toho Hibiya Promenade Building along Hibiya Nakadori in Yurakucho. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere with white, pink, and marble tones. It was relatively spacious with 52 seats in total, including a 12-seat counter and 40 table seats. I made a reservation the day before my visit, and when I arrived at 10:55, there were no other customers. The clientele was all women, and the service was provided by one dapper male staff member. The menu included lunch plate options such as a plate lunch for 1980 yen, a main dish for 3600 yen, and a two-dish main for 5000 yen. I ordered the plate lunch, which included seasonal soup, original baguette, and plate. The soup was rich and delicious, and the breads were both delightful – the original baguette had a firm texture, while the corn bread was soft and sweet. The plate consisted of a colorful seasonal salad, egg mayonnaise, carrot rapé, quiche Lorraine, gratin of meat sauce with Dofinoise, and pâté de campagne beautifully presented on a black round plate with flower decorations. The food was visually appealing and tasty, but lacked in portion size. The atmosphere of the restaurant was stylish and elegant, and I was able to pay by credit card. Reservations could be made on the website with specific time slots and menu selections, but I was able to enter 20 minutes earlier than scheduled and choose my meal after being seated. Overall, the plate lunch for 1980 yen was a set that included delicious seasonal soup, bread, and plate, but lacked in portion size.

The restaurant at Tokyo Kaikan in Hibiya Toho Promenade Building. The interior is popular among young people, with a marble counter and light pink chairs. I ordered a course with 2 main dishes this time. For the mains, I chose pan-fried sea bass with beurre blanc sauce and black pork Orloff-style with Mornay sauce. It was a shame that dessert was not included, but I added Mont Blanc Chantilly on the side. I got the full size, but there was also a half size available!

The curtain of a theater called "Drape" opened at Hibiya, offering a traditional French dining experience in a casual setting. The staff, all employees of Tokyo Kaikan, provide excellent service with great attention to detail. The operation is well-managed, and the dishes, though reasonably priced, are of high quality. The restaurant is bathed in natural light from the glass windows, creating a spacious and pleasant atmosphere. The drinks are affordable and complement the food well. It seems that an opening menu is currently in place.

Perrier 770 yen, Counter Limited Course 3800 yen ◯Dishes Amuse, assorted appetizers, choice of main dish, bread. Each dish was delicious (^。^) The pate de campagne for the appetizer and the Polish-style cherry salmon for the main dish were especially good (╹◡╹) ◯Atmosphere Spacious space with good natural light, even at the counter seats it feels relaxed. The male and female staff members provide polite service, making the dining experience pleasant. They even recommended getting more bread (^。^) Despite the slight delay in explaining the dishes, the atmosphere is very pleasant ♩ ◎Rating Both the food and atmosphere left a good impression, with attentive service and good value for money without a service charge. After watching a movie in Midtown, I visited this restaurant for the first time without a reservation. The staff warmly welcomed me even though I didn't have a booking. It's a casual French restaurant run by Tokyo Kaikan, and the interior and service are on par with a hotel, but the prices for both drinks and food are reasonable. In this area, you can't find this level of service and ambiance at this price, so I'm grateful. The window seats are lovely, and this place has become a hidden gem that I don't want to share with anyone (to keep it from getting too crowded)!

Drape in Hibiya. This is a new shop at Tokyo Kaikan. The shop is located on the 2nd floor of Toho Hibiya Promenade Building near Tokyo Midtown. I visited for lunch on this day. I had the lunch set menu. ~Lunch Set~ ◯ Today's assorted appetizers Smoked salmon, pate de campagne, rillettes, colorful salad ◯ Cherry salmon meuniere Polish-style cherry salmon viennoise, breadcrumbs and boiled egg butter sauce, lemon sauce With elegant service, the meal started. I reserved a light lunch menu, so there were only 2 courses, but the taste and portion were satisfying. The bright interior and good service created a nice atmosphere, making it a great lunchtime. Thank you for the meal.

Late lunch plate for ¥3800. Soup plate. Dessert. All of them, hmm, not satisfying. Especially the plate, lacking main items like meat or fish! Quiche, gratin are tasty but don't feel like I've eaten much. For dessert, one big portion of Chantilly would have been better. ¥3800 is too expensive.

A new casual French restaurant called "Drape" from Tokyo Kaikan has opened on the 2nd floor of the Toho Hibiya Promenade Building in Hibiya. The atmosphere is casual, but the service is excellent, making it a place where you can feel comfortable dining. I tried the lunch course for 6,100 yen, which includes a drink. It consisted of an appetizer platter, a choice of main dish, a dessert platter, and coffee. The pate, salmon, carrot rapé, and fresh leafy vegetables were all delicious. I also enjoyed a glass of white wine. I was seated by the window, allowing me to relax while looking outside. The hearty bread was tasty! For the main course, I chose the "Black Pork Orloff-style with Mornay Sauce". The grilled black pork was full of flavor, and the rich sauce with cheese was well-balanced and not heavy. The smooth mashed potatoes on the side were also delightful. I was very satisfied! The dessert platter included the famous Shantilly dessert from Tokyo Kaikan. The ganache and fromage were also delicious! Even though the course came with a drink, it was nice to know that an additional glass of wine only cost 680 yen. The portion size was just right, making it suitable for dining alone without feeling awkward. They also offer a "Late Lunch" option at a casual price, which seems like a fun experience. Reservations are required. Definitely worth a visit!
