キムタク食歩記^ ^
I visited a izakaya called "Ichiensou" located west of Rinno River Takatsuji. The bright red signboard was easy to spot even from afar, making it easy to find the place (I went at midnight). I had heard from acquaintances that this place is known for its fugu (blowfish), so I was excited to finally try it. The restaurant had counter seats and three 4-person tatami rooms. As soon as I entered, I saw the large fugu that I had been looking forward to! It was huge!
We started with a toast with shochu highball. There were two delicious otoshi dishes, and we ordered a sashimi platter with three types of fish (red, white, and blue fish) and Asinagadako (long-arm octopus?). The most surprisingly delicious dish was the sea bream. The sea bream was mind-blowingly delicious, with the skin left on and slightly seared, and the flesh was thick.
The Asinagadako was quite entertaining as the tentacles were moving in the dish. There were two types of sauces, one was a spicy sauce, and the other was a sesame oil and salt sauce that was sticky and enjoyable to eat. Moving on to the sake, we ordered a sake from Yamagata called "Yamakawa Mitsuo," which was served generously in a large glass. The sake had a spicy start but turned sweet later, making it quite enjoyable.
The restaurant, especially "Ichiensou," seemed to focus a lot on sake, offering a wide variety of rare and unique sake, some priced at 8000 yen or 10,000 yen per glass. If you visit "Ichiensou," trying the sake is a must. Finally, the fugu. We had grilled fugu, tessa (fugu sashimi), and shirako (fugu milt). The tessa here had thick and large slices, providing a satisfying bite. The grilled shirako had a crispy exterior and a creamy interior, seasoned with salt. Eating it as is was delicious, and squeezing the sudachi (Japanese citrus) over it added a different flavor dimension.
Lastly, the grilled fugu, which was my favorite. The combination of the sauce and the umami of the fugu made my mouth happy. The aroma was also delightful. You can choose to grill the fugu yourself at the table, but we had it grilled for us this time. It was one of the best fugu dishes I have ever had. I highly recommend the seafood here. I definitely want to visit again. If you go once, you are sure to become a fan. - Kimtaku's Food Journey Recommended Items: - Sea Bream Sashimi - Fugu
