The opening of the Tokyo Ueno Line has made my commute much easier, connecting Shinbashi and my hometown of Urawa directly. This has added a luxurious dilemma for me - should I drink in Shinbashi or go back to Urawa to drink? On this day, after working overtime, I was looking for a place where I could have a meal and drink, and I came across a sign for Okinawan cuisine. It had been a while since I had Okinawan food. I took the elevator up to the 4th floor of the building. When I opened the sliding door, I saw counter table seats on the right side, with private rooms as well. It seemed like it used to be a Japanese restaurant or izakaya. There wasn't much Okinawan atmosphere. I ordered an Orion draft beer and looked at the menu. There was a menu specifically for solo diners. The standard menu items were mostly available. It's a welcoming place for solo diners, so let's order. I ordered Goya Champuru, Rafute, and Island Kamaboko. The appetizer was Mozuku vinegar. The Goya in the Goya Champuru seemed a bit thickly sliced, don't you think? It's too crunchy. I prefer it to be sliced a bit thinner, about half the thickness. And it's a bit lightly seasoned, perhaps showing a health-conscious approach. The Rafute was delicious. The flavor was rich and moist. I think it would go well with aged Awamori. I ordered a glass of Yaeyama Izumi 30% Awamori. It was served in Ryukyu glassware. I also had some water and enjoyed it slowly. It had been a while since I had aged Awamori, and it was still delicious. Okinawan cuisine is the best.

The staff's service was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very cozy. Each dish was delicious and highly recommended. The course with all-you-can-drink option was very enjoyable. In particular, the Rafute (Okinawan stewed pork belly) and sea grapes were delicious. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

Regular update meeting. My partner is a smoker, so this restaurant near Shinbashi is a favorite. Everything we eat here is delicious. A must-have is the mozuku tempura, goya champuru, and tofu dish. Today, we had tofu as a canapé. As an additional drink, we enjoy mixing Awamori with Sanpin tea. We generously pour Koregusu (Okinawan chili pepper) on all dishes. This restaurant is always amazing, no matter what we order. We will continue to come back in the future! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today, I met up with a fellow baby smoker in Shinbashi for a catch-up session. The place we went to was chosen by my partner, so it was a limited smoking area, but we enjoyed our time there. We started off with a refreshing beer and then moved on to awamori - Umi no Ura, Mizu no Kuni, and Kumesen. For food, we had tofu, mozuku tempura, and goya champuru. The main dish was Rafute, followed by a palate cleanser of sea grapes, and we finished off with Soki Soba. There was even a live Okinawan folk music performance, making it a truly enjoyable evening. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I stayed overnight in Tokyo on this day, and after finishing work, I wanted to have a drink under the railway bridge in Shinbashi. However, with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, I didn't want to drink in crowded places. So, I ended up at this restaurant, craving Okinawan cuisine. It was my first time at this place, and I wanted to feel a bit of Okinawa vibe (lol). I started with a beer to quench my thirst, and for snacks, I had Goya Champuru, Mozuku tempura, and braised pork. The hot Mozuku appetizer was soothing after a day of work. The Goya Champuru was simple, with just egg and bitter melon. I wished it had pork in it, though. The Mozuku tempura was quite substantial. The braised pork was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Enjoying Okinawan cuisine with Awamori coffee cocktail was a great experience. In these times when we can't travel, feeling the local vibe through food is also nice. Thank you for the meal.

I went out for Okinawan cuisine with my colleagues recently. We had Mozuku tempura, Mimigar (pig's ear), pickled shallots, Jimami tofu, Agu pork, Goya champuru, vegetable champuru, Orion beer, and more. Before we knew it, we had ordered a lot and ended up eating a ton. Everything was incredibly delicious!

Churaumi, an Okinawan izakaya located just a few minutes from Shinbashi Station Uchisai-guchi. This time, we visited with a reservation for two people. The course meal costs 5,000 yen (excluding tax) and includes 12 dishes with all-you-can-drink. It's quite a lavish offer for the price. When we arrived at the reserved time of 6:00 PM, there was already a group of four customers who seemed to have been drinking quite a bit. We were served mozuku vinegar as a starter, followed by island pickled shallots, jimami tofu, and mimigar. These dishes were served in small plates, perfect for accompanying drinks. We started with Orion beer draft and then switched to Shikuwasa sour. The sour was served in a glass, so we drank it quickly. Next, we had Goya champuru, followed by "Rafuti," which we were told to eat while it's hot. The Rafuti, with its rich flavor of awamori, was delicious and velvety. It's no wonder it's one of the restaurant's specialties. At this point, we switched to awamori. We had Namiha White with water, and it was enjoyable to choose from about 8 different types of awamori, including aged ones. We were served mozuku tempura and hirayachi. Both were full-sized dishes and deliciously hot. My companion loves mozuku tempura, so she was delighted that it was included in the course. We were served pork tamago, and the course ended with noodles (your choice of tsukesoba or yakisoba). We were recommended tofu pudding, and we gladly accepted. Eating it with a bamboo spoon and savoring it slowly went well with the awamori. We switched to Kikunotsuyu Gold awamori. When asked if we wanted anything else, we ordered Sugarcane Shochu. It was a great companion for drinking. As the two-hour time limit was approaching, and more customers were coming in, we ordered tsukesoba, which turned out to be Okinawan soba. It was a small portion but warm and delicious. We were way over the time limit, so we apologized, but to our surprise, the tofu pudding and Sugarcane Shochu were not included in the bill. We thanked them sincerely and left the restaurant with a "Please come again." We were satisfied with the fulfilling experience.

Churaumi-san. Located on the 4th floor of a building just a few minutes from Shinbashi Station Ueno Exit. There are many similar buildings nearby, so it can be hard to find. When I entered around 7pm on a weekday, there was one person dining alone, two groups of two, and one group of three. I started with a draft Orion beer, followed by Suichaka (pork dish) and Goya (bitter melon) with bonito flakes. I was happy that they provided a smaller portion for a single person without me having to ask. The dishes were a bit slow to come out due to a rush of orders, so they brought out some Jimami tofu as a filler. I appreciated the thoughtfulness. I finished my beer and moved on to awamori (Okinawan distilled spirit). They had a variety to choose from, starting at around 500 yen per glass. I tried the Kiku no Tsuyu Gold with water. It was easy to drink, so I quickly finished it. Next, I tried the Scugarasu. This also came in a single portion. The salty flavor paired well with the awamori. I ended the meal with a bill of around 3000 yen. The menu offers typical Okinawan dishes, all of which are delicious. The young female staff members were friendly and provided excellent service. Smoking is allowed in all seats.

I was looking for a place where I can enjoy a meal in a relaxed atmosphere without drinking alcohol, and a friend from Okinawa recommended me a restaurant. Just as my friend described, I was able to enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace. This restaurant is now on my list of places to visit again in the future.

While walking along Shinbashi and Uchisaiwaicho Street, I was lured into a favorite Okinawan cuisine restaurant by a menu displaying mini-sized dishes for solo diners on a Saturday night. I ordered an Orion draft beer for 580 yen, along with mini-sized Okinawan pickled shallots and Okinawan fish cake soba for 540 yen. The appetizer was mozuku vinegar. The pickled shallots arrived, topped with bonito flakes. I enjoyed it. The soba arrived quickly, accompanied by red ginger and shichimi pepper, which I appreciate as it is typical of Okinawan cuisine. I used the red ginger. It wasn't too spicy, but adding more made it even better. I also liked the taste of the broth. The total bill came to 1800 yen.

We had a rare gathering with an unusual group of people for drinks in Shinbashi. We had made a reservation at this restaurant that had caught our interest for a while. The day before, our group increased from 4 to 5 people, so I called to add one more person, and they kindly accommodated the change. Since we were 5 people, we were seated in a private room which was very nice. We could relax without worrying about cigarette smoke. The all-you-can-drink option for 4,000 yen was a great deal. They also served a variety of food dishes. The hirayachi was delicious. And the mozuku tempura was also tasty. Next time, I'd like to come with just one or two people and sit at the counter, chatting with the owner while we drink.

I was planning to go to Miyako Island but the flight got cancelled due to a typhoon, so I stopped by here to feel a bit of Okinawa. The coupons are cheap. All-you-can-drink for 600 yen! There weren't any specialty dishes, but if you want to have a good time with good cost performance, I recommend it! It's a good place to come with colleagues or friends!

I have been to this place a few times, but this was my first post. It is located on the 4th floor of a mixed-use building and can be quite hard to find. The interior is small, maybe full with 20 people, but there is a counter so it's fine for solo diners. I have never seen a solo female diner here, mostly older men. It's been a while since I had Okinawan cuisine. After a light drink, I had some pig's feet and some Awamori, followed by Okinawa soba (mini) to finish. They offer all-you-can-drink options here, which is great for quick drinks. I think it was 800 yen for an hour. I started with some Mozuku seaweed as a side dish, then had Tofuyo (fermented tofu) and Tebichi (pig's feet). The Tofuyo was interesting, kind of like cheese with a unique taste. Tebichi is collagen-rich and I love it. As I was on my second glass of Awamori, I noticed they had "Naberera" on the menu. I had to try it, even though it's not the season for it. I ordered a mini size, as they offer most dishes in mini sizes, which is convenient for solo diners. Naberera is a miso stew with bitter melon, tofu, Spam, tuna, and miso. It has a unique taste that I love. It was a comforting meal. Thank you! (I had 5 glasses of Awamori and ended up with a hangover the next day)

I had Okinawan pork soba noodles as a closing dish. It cost 690 yen for a rice bowl-sized portion, which honestly seems expensive. The taste was noticeably different from the authentic Okinawan soba I had a week ago in Okinawa. Maybe the price reflects the location in Shinbashi? The owner seemed to be from Okinawa, but maybe they don't pay as much attention to the taste.

Visited on November 15th (Tuesday) with a coupon, invited a colleague. Located a few minutes walk from Shinbashi Station towards Toranomon, the restaurant was on one floor of a building. Made a reservation in advance due to the coupon. Seated in a small area at the back of the restaurant. The atmosphere inside was relatively calm and pleasant. The coupon included only drinks and appetizers, so we chose all the dishes from the menu. The island pickles and sea grapes, typical Okinawan dishes, were refreshing and quite delicious. The Agu pork had a light flavor that paired well with shochu. The familiar Goya Champuru was not too bitter and enjoyable. Although I forgot the names of other dishes, overall, everything was delicious without any disappointments. The staff were friendly, and overall, I think it's a decent restaurant in Shinbashi. I might visit again even without a coupon next time.

However, in the Ginza and Shinbashi area, there are many Okinawan restaurants. This restaurant was chosen for a farewell party by business partners. It was recommended by an acquaintance in the media industry who said it was delicious. It seems that reservations are hard to come by. The restaurant is on the third floor of a multi-tenant building. When you get off the elevator, the entrance door is right in front of you. The interior of the restaurant is small, with not too many seats. It was clear from the looks of it that it was fully booked on this day. I sat down and looked at the menu. There was a good variety of dishes and awamori. I wanted to order everything eagerly, but I hesitated and placed my order. I couldn't pass up the sea grapes. I also chose the Rafute and Goya Champuru, classic dishes, and sipped on some awamori. It was nice to eat in a relaxed atmosphere without the typical "this is definitely an Okinawan restaurant" feeling. I wanted another plate of sea grapes. Rating: 3.39

The invitation from the coupon-loving manager led us to this restaurant for a weekday evening drink party using a coupon. The overall rating is not given due to the coupon use. The coupon we used is here (http://www.groupon.jp/cid/12913). All-you-can-drink awamori, draft beer, etc. (2 hours) + appetizer + choice of appetizer for 840 yen. It's a great deal. We arrived without getting lost by looking at the map from Uruma-guchi. It's on the 4th floor of a mixed-use building. When the elevator opened, we were surprised to see other customers drinking at table seats right in front of us! It's a small restaurant with not much Okinawan atmosphere. Hmm, it seems like it's best for 2 or 3 people. We had a slightly larger group this time. It seemed crowded as all other seats were taken, and it felt a bit cramped. There is only one shared toilet, which is a bit inconvenient. Timing is important when going to the toilet. The appetizer was "mozuku vinegar". It was quite good with thick mozuku. The choice of appetizer was between "sea grapes" or "moro-kyu". Hmm, in terms of value and the restaurant's style, "sea grapes" is the correct choice. We should have ordered "sea grapes" for everyone, but for some reason, we ordered some "moro-kyu" as well haha. Both were just okay. The portion was a bit small. The coupon only included the all-you-can-drink for 2 hours, so we had to order dishes separately. However, we ended up not eating much for some reason. There were various unusual menu items available, but... The most memorable dish was the salted pork (suichika). It was my first time trying it, and it goes well with alcohol (awamori or beer). It's like thick-cut bacon. "Hirayachi" is an Okinawan-style okonomiyaki. It was... not particularly tasty. It felt like a budget home-cooked meal. I prefer regular okonomiyaki or chijimi. Also, there was the Churaumi sausage. I couldn't really tell what was "Churaumi" about it. And yet, it was quite pricey... I was expecting more classic dishes to be served. When I was wondering about that, they informed us that it had been 90 minutes and it was last order for drinks. They mentioned the next customers were waiting, so we were served right on time for the 2-hour limit. Hmm, I don't feel like I ate much haha. The service was not bad. The two waitresses seemed busy. So, if you go, it's better to go in a small group. However, the alcohol is a bit on the expensive side...
