A cafe facing Higashiyama Street in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City. It has a stylish yet calming atmosphere, with a cozy interior that can accommodate around 15-20 people. The place seems to have been renovated from a traditional house, using white paint tastefully. It reminds me of the cafe boom from 10-20 years ago. I actually visited a long time ago, around 2005 or 7 years ago. This cafe has probably been running for quite a while. The lunch set costs 980 yen, with a daily changing menu featuring boiled chicken in Chinese sauce and various side dishes. The soup that comes with it has a delicious chicken broth flavor. The stir-fried eggplant and salad as side dishes were also tasty and light. It's stylish without being pretentious, creating a very comfortable atmosphere. It's worth noting that it is spelled differently from ROCCA, a cafe chain mainly in Osaka, so they are likely unrelated.

Lunchtime - Daily special lunch for ¥1,210 (spinach and pork sesame shabu-shabu, Chinese yam and chicken salad, egg soup, rice, salad). Visited around 2:00 PM. There were about 2 groups of customers already. The lighting was dim, creating a calm atmosphere inside the restaurant. The daily special lunch was lovely with plenty of vegetables. The nutritional balance was perfect. The sesame sauce was rich in flavor, making the rice very enjoyable. The egg soup, which I thought would be light, turned out to be rich with a strong ginger taste (surprisingly good).

I got off at Higashiyama Station and took a leisurely stroll around Shirakawa. I decided to take a break at this shop that caught my eye. As soon as I entered and took my seat, I immersed myself in the good atmosphere. Just sitting there made me feel comfortable in this wonderful space. I wonder what makes it feel that way. It's amazing. The coffee was a little dark roasted, but I prefer it a bit lighter. The pear tart was delicious. I wish there was a place like this nearby.

During a hot day of sightseeing in Kyoto in the summer, I felt hungry and thirsty, so I decided to have lunch at a cafe that seemed to offer both. I ordered the Mixed Sandwich Set for 1,250 yen, which included a toast sandwich with eggs, vegetables, and ham. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and even the eggplant was delicious raw. The daily lunch special for 1,250 yen was a tomato stew with vegetables and minced meat served with rice. The vegetables were fresh and the tomato sauce was flavorful. The highlight of the meal was the coffee. I ordered an iced coffee, and it was made by grinding the beans after I placed my order, so it took some time but it was absolutely delicious. The aroma, the smoothness, and the aftertaste were all perfect, and it was probably the best coffee I've ever had. I live in Tokyo so I can't visit this cafe regularly, but I would love to come back when I travel to Kyoto again.

Located a little north of Yasaka Shrine, near Chion-in, is a highly-rated café. I visited for the first time at 11 am on a holiday when it opened. The back of the shop is lined with potted plants, creating a very nice atmosphere. The daily lunch set costs 1250 yen and is described as "a lunch made with plenty of vegetables harvested from the seasonal garden." The main dish is a stew of chicken and vegetables, with large chunks of chicken. It includes shiso, tomato, bell pepper, carrot, and herb leaves. Served with lettuce, tomato, eggplant, cucumber and mayonnaise salad. It also comes with white rice and consomme soup. A healthy and delicious lunch. The set drink is black tea. The seasonal vegetable soup costs 650 yen and is an eggplant potage soup. It is rich and warm, with whole red peppercorns that add a spicy kick when bitten into. The shiso juice is very refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. The total for two people was 2550 yen. The lunch, juice, and soup were all very delicious. They use homegrown vegetables, making it very healthy. They also offer morning sets, quiche lunches, curry rice, sandwiches, parfaits, and more. I would definitely like to visit again.

Located on the east side of the intersection of Chionin-mae and Kionin-mae streets in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, if you go down from Sanjo-dori to Higashi-oji-dori, it is a small and natural-looking shop with a warm atmosphere inside. The menu mainly consists of drinks, with morning and lunch options available depending on the time. The coffee is a feature that changes the origin of the beans daily, and there is a wide variety of toasts available. The French toast has a fluffy and simple appearance, with a crispy surface and a fragrant finish. The batter is well blended with the toast, cut into small pieces for a soft texture. The whipped cream has a fine and smooth texture, with a gentle sweetness that enhances the toast. The maple syrup drizzled over everything adds a mellow flavor. The hot coffee is carefully hand-dripped, with a clean and rich flavor. Despite its convenient location for tourists, it offers a relaxed and flowing time. The coffee uses beans from Ooya Coffee Roasting, making it a shop that is widely appreciated by various customer demographics.

Along the Higashioji Street near Higashiyama. Found a stylish and cozy café, Higashiyama has many places with delicious coffee. Today I came for lunch and had a generous serving of meat and tofu with plenty of vegetables. It was a gentle and delicious meal. The two people wearing knitted hats were impressed, so cute! It was delicious! Great restaurant!

Cafe Kisetsu is located a 5-7 minute walk from Higashiyama Station. The cozy and homey atmosphere allows for a relaxing and leisurely time. In addition to drinks and sweets, they also offer a variety of light meal options, making it a great spot for morning or brunch. I ordered the popular pear tart and a cup of black tea. The pear tart had a homemade feel, with a thick and sweet tart crust paired with refreshing and sweet pears. Enjoying it with the black tea made for an elegant break time. If you enjoy cafes with a calm atmosphere, this is the perfect spot for you. Be sure to visit! Thank you for the meal!

Cake set for 900 yen. The blend coffee and sweet orange tart were quite bitter. Added milk to balance it out. The orange peel was also bitter. It had a mature taste. The warm wooden table, gentle deep green chairs, and a slightly crooked wall clock added to the cozy atmosphere. A view of the garden outside. This kind of café is nice.

Facing the main street, tucked away, is a restaurant with a high percentage of female customers. Today's lunch looks healthy with lots of vegetables! The main dish is a stew of chicken and vegetables, which is very much appreciated by me because it's full of vegetables! The price is okay if it comes with coffee, but it might be a little expensive. Well, just a little bit...

On Thursday at 6:00 PM, I went to "Rokka" in Sanjo, Kyoto. There was one other customer already there. The cafe had a calm atmosphere with cozy lighting and soothing music. I ordered a "Hot Coffee (500 yen)" and it arrived in 10 minutes. The coffee was freshly ground and brewed with care for each order. The first sip was delicious, with a perfect balance of bitterness and acidity that suited my taste. The medium roast coffee beans gave off a rich aroma. The cup was cute, with the word "Rokka" written on it in white, and the saucer had the number "6" and coffee beans scattered on it. When I lifted the cup, I found a single red coffee bean at the bottom. Even the water glass had "ROKKA" written on it. This cafe seems like a great place to relax and enjoy a leisurely time. Thank you for the meal.

I wonder when I first started visiting this place. I think it was about 13 years ago. Back then, the shop was still located in the Furukawa-cho shopping street. For some reason, whenever I visited Kyoto, I would take a break here, have a meal or tea, and sometimes bring a book to read, spending time in this oasis-like shop. As I moved away, I stopped visiting, and the shop seemed to have relocated to a place facing the main street of Higashioji. Today, I was able to visit after a long time. It's really nostalgic, and I wonder why this café was my favorite. I was surprised by the deliciousness of the tomato salad I often ate back then, and I once asked them to send me a whole box of tomatoes to my home. I still can't forget the taste of those tomatoes. They were really tasty tomatoes with a rich flavor. I hope this place will continue to exist forever.

Located north of Yasaka Shrine, on Higashioji Street. I came here for breakfast! I had to make sure to arrive between 10-11 am on days other than Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which are their regular closing days. I had been here for lunch before and decided to try their breakfast this time. The Morning Set B includes toast, salad, half a boiled egg, and coffee. It was very delicious. It was a relaxing morning. Thank you for the meal!

It's small, not crowded, and the line is short, so it was great! It closes at 6, though.
