I ordered the half size tonkatsu for 2000 yen at the renowned tonkatsu restaurant #NewBabe in Tanimachi 4-chome, which opened its second branch in Nakatsu. The interior of the restaurant is a spacious and calming space with a wooden theme. Since I didn't try the hire (fillet) last time, I ordered the mixed tonkatsu this time. You can choose between cabbage and lettuce for the vegetables, and I chose lettuce with carrot dressing, which I liked. The tonkatsu took about 20 minutes to be served, having been fried three times and heated. The breading was finely textured and had a light, crispy feel. The pork used was a Tokyo brand pork selected at the Tokyo Meat Market, with a beautiful pink color when cut. The meat had a light texture with a good amount of moisture, and a firm, slightly chewy texture. It was a delicious meal.

I came to a tonkatsu restaurant in Osaka! Mr. Baibe Toyosaki store! Even though I made a reservation, I had to wait quite a bit - haha. It's lunchtime but we're waiting outside for a while. I ordered the fillet cutlet! Just like the main store, they fry it first and then let it rest to preheat before serving it! The restaurant is nicely renovated in an old house style! The sauce and dressing are also the same as the main store! The difference is that you choose between fillet and loin, not branded pork. Personally, I think it was a bit too rare - a bit disappointing!

I went to Tonkatsu restaurant New Babe in Toyosaki. The interior is very stylish. I usually prefer fillet, but I wanted to try the loin too, so I ordered a half portion (60g fillet & 120g loin) for ¥2200. The chef coated the meat in flour, dipped it in egg, and then breaded it right in front of me. They fry it at a low temperature, which seems to be popular lately. It was delicious! The miso soup was also full of ingredients, and you can have seconds, but I was too embarrassed to ask for more. The chopstick rest shaped like a pig was cute. Thank you for the meal! The pork cutlet was delicately breaded and cooked to perfection. The pink pork was very tender and melted in the mouth. It tasted best with salt. You can choose either cabbage or lettuce as a side vegetable, and I chose lettuce which was crunchy and delicious. The surprising highlight was the pork soup, which was filled with generous ingredients and bursting with flavor. I wanted more of it, but the second serving had very few ingredients. I wanted to eat pork, so I entered Tokyo X! I ordered the top loin. You can have rice, cabbage, and pork miso soup refills! The first bite is incredibly delicious, but it's quite fatty and I started feeling sick halfway through! The cabbage dressing and pork miso soup are also delicious! I was satisfied with the taste, but I had a terrible stomachache! For those who like fatty food, it's probably amazing! I went with another person who ordered the top sirloin, and they enjoyed it without any stomach issues. Next time, I want to try the top sirloin!

Personally, coming from a culture with strong flavors, I rated the taste slightly lower, but for those who prioritize the taste of the ingredients, I think it's a step above. I was walking to go for drinks when I noticed that the restaurant was quite empty. So, for the first round, I enjoyed some top sirloin and beer with Yamazaki highball. The beautiful interior and carefully cooked cutlet made for a satisfying time.

A popular tonkatsu restaurant from Yotsuya and Horie has opened in Nakanoshima. "New Wave Toyosaki" is located just a 2-minute walk from Osaka Metro Nakanoshima Station. The upscale interior features a full open kitchen with counter seats and spacious table seats. The menu is simple, allowing you to choose your preferred cut of meat. I ordered the top loin (2500 yen) with a side of rice (400 yen). The slightly rare, beautiful pink cross-section had a thick and flavorful cut of meat. When you take a bite, the juicy meatiness and sweetness spread throughout your mouth. It's also nice that you can enjoy different flavors with meat miso, rock salt, wasabi, mustard, and sauce. The hearty tonjiru soup with plenty of ingredients was also delicious.

I love tonkatsu so much that I realized one day, "I love tonkatsu so much, but I didn't know there was a place like this around here!" This turned out to be a great find. The tonkatsu, enveloped in a crispy coating, was thick yet fluffy, and melted in my mouth. I couldn't decide between loin or fillet, so I chose the half & half option - good choice! With salt and condiments, I felt like I could eat unlimited tonkatsu. When paired with fig sauce, it was the perfect match for rice. I wanted to ask if I could get some takeout for the additional menchi-katsu, but I was too shy to do so. After returning home and looking it up, I found out that this is a renowned restaurant with its main branch in Tanimachi 4-chome. I'm still not very familiar with restaurants in Osaka, but the food was truly delicious. If only I had two stomachs, I would have tried the special pork too. I will definitely visit again!

First visit. "New Bayve Toyosaki" in Nakatsu, opened on 6/30/2023, Friday. I was craving for some delicious tonkatsu after a long time. I heard that the famous restaurant in Tanishi, New Bayve, has opened in Nakatsu, so I decided to visit right away. It was my first visit to "New Bayve Toyosaki". I placed my order. It was a tough decision. Arrived at 11:29. There was some availability without a reservation. Tonkatsu arrived at 11:47. Menchi katsu arrived at 11:56. I ordered the half size (60g hire, 120g loin) for 2200 yen and the menchi katsu for 500 yen, totaling 2700 yen. In the end, I decided to try both the loin and the hire, so I ordered the half size. The loin had a thick cut with a good balance of lean meat and fat, very delicious. The hire was tender and melted in my mouth, very tasty. I enjoyed being able to try different flavors with salt, wasabi, meat miso, mustard, sauce, etc. The recommended menchi katsu was also delicious, juicy, and flavorful. Recently, there are more delicious tonkatsu restaurants in Kansai, which makes me happy! One of these delicious tonkatsu restaurants, "New Bayve," has opened in Toyosaki, Nakatsu. I had been wanting to go there for a while, and when I received an invitation from a friend saying "Let's go to a tonkatsu restaurant!" I made a reservation and went. They open at 11 am, so it's great for an early lunch! On this day, the restaurant quickly filled up with both reserved and walk-in customers. The lunch and dinner menus are almost the same, except that dinner does not come with rice or miso soup. I ordered the Half set for 2200 yen, which includes 60g of tenderloin and 120g of loin mix, along with cabbage, rice, miso soup, meat miso, and dessert. You can have unlimited refills of rice and cabbage. First, I tried the tenderloin. It was tender and juicy, with a light and gentle coating that made it overall light and delicious. It was great when eaten simply with salt and mustard. The loin had a more substantial texture and was satisfying to eat, but it was also tender with just the right amount of fat for a pleasant sweetness. Eating it with the special sauce made the rice disappear in no time! Both were delicious, but as time passed, the coating became a bit soggy, which was a bit disappointing. I wished they had served the tenderloin and loin with a slight time difference to prevent this. The cabbage was crunchy, but personally, I prefer a thinner and more delicate type. The homemade carrot dressing was delicious with lots of carrot flavor. The rice was glossy and freshly cooked, and the meat miso, while not too strong, was tasty enough to make you want to eat more rice. Finally, I finished with a refreshing yogurt dessert. The staff, who served with a lovely smile, left a great impression, and the atmosphere was pleasant, so I would love to visit again when I crave delicious tonkatsu.

I visited the restaurant alone on a weekday before 11:30 am. I was seated at the counter right away. The place was very clean, probably because it's a new restaurant. I ordered the top sirloin (220g) for 2500 yen. I chose cabbage for the vegetables, but they also offered lettuce, which was unusual. After about 10 minutes, a plate with salt, wasabi, and mustard was brought out. There was also meat miso to put on the rice. They mentioned that the salt was from the Basque region in Spain and the wasabi was from Shizuoka. About 5 minutes later, my dish arrived. It looked very appetizing. I took a bite without adding anything. The meat was quite rare, making it a bit tough to chew in the middle. The parts with a bit more cooking were delicious. I asked for a refill of cabbage, and when I inquired about lettuce, they happily agreed. I also had a second serving of miso soup. It was a satisfying meal.

My wife and I visited the restaurant after 6 pm, but it was crowded and full. We revisited around 9 pm and luckily managed to get a table due to a cancellation. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was great, the staff were very friendly, and all the dishes we ordered were delicious. The cost performance was also good, and it's a restaurant we would like to visit again.

Had lunch in Nakatsu at the newly opened New Babe Toyosaki in April. I had visited the shop in Yotai a couple of times, but this was my first visit here. I had the impression from the pre-information that at this store, you can only choose the part of the meat, not the brand, but on this day, there was a limited menu item available - the luxurious pork (Mangalitsa x Duroc). I hesitated between ordering from the regular menu or trying the limited menu, but when it comes to brand-specific items, I always want to try something new. So, I ordered the 200g top loin of the luxurious pork. I also couldn't resist adding the recommended minced cutlet. The cutlet that was served a while later was juicy and looked beautiful even on the inside. Compared to the Yotai store, the condiments were simple, just salt, wasabi, and mustard. I personally think this is enough, as having too many condiments can be overwhelming. Trying it with salt first, the Mangalitsa-like fat was elegant and lightly sweet, while the lean meat was juicy with a good chew. The breading was thin, light, and crispy, just like the Yotai store. The minced cutlet was also juicy and delicious. In terms of accessibility, this store is easier for me, but as someone who is brand-conscious, I thought the Yotai store was better. However, if rare brands are available here too, I would like to come back here. It seems like it's based on luck though, as it seems to be irregular. Thank you for the meal.

New Babe came to Nakatsu, so I went for lunch right away! We arrived just after it opened at 11 am and were the second group in, so we had a leisurely meal until around 12 pm. After 12 pm, more people started coming in, so if you want to avoid lining up, I recommend entering between 11-12 pm! I ordered the Upper Hare 120g, which equals 4 pieces, and it was incredibly juicy, tender, with a light and delicious crust. The cutlet sandwich to go was filled with pork loin! If you want to eat it right away, it's perfect. I want to go back for the Hare again! Thank you for the meal!

I had a delicious and tender sirloin steak. It was fun to be able to choose between lettuce and cabbage. The yogurt dessert was a bit sour, so I wish it was a little sweeter. The rice was also really delicious, so I will definitely go back. The restaurant was newly opened and very clean.

Tonkatsu restaurant "Yasushi" opened in Nakatsu, known for being one of the top 100 tonkatsu restaurants in Japan. I made a reservation for 12 o'clock because I was craving delicious tonkatsu. It's convenient that you can make a reservation here. I was guided to a long counter at the back of the restaurant. I got a seat at the end, which was great. The restaurant is new and clean, with a high ceiling and a sense of luxury. There are baskets for belongings under the seats. The menu is simple. They coat the pork with flour, egg, and breadcrumbs right in front of you. I hesitated between the half portion and the regular portion, but I chose the regular portion because I prefer loin over fillet. The top loin I ordered takes time to fry at a low temperature, so I waited for about 15 minutes. The cross-section of the top loin looked beautiful with a light pink color. I tried it with wasabi and salt as recommended, and the sweet fat melted in my mouth. The salt enhanced the sweetness of the meat. The rice was cooked perfectly, and it went well with the tonkatsu. The fig sauce added a nice touch to the flavor. Honestly, the top loin had a lot of fat, almost as much as rib loin, so it might be too heavy for those who prefer fillet. I enjoy fatty meat, but there was more fat than I expected, so I ate it while alternating between salt and fig sauce. The 220g portion was quite filling. Maybe choosing loin instead of loin would have less fat. I might try the half portion with both loin and fillet next time. The pork miso soup was filled with plenty of vegetables and had a delicious ginger flavor. I ended up getting a refill of the soup.
