I checked out a curry bread shop that is managed by the House brand, and visited the shop on a Saturday around noon, with only one customer present. There were 5 types of curry bread available, and I chose the Mini Almond Curry Bread (Mild) (189 yen). The mini curry bread was about 7cm in diameter, with a hint of sweetness and mild spiciness. It had a rich flavor with a thick curry sauce that matched well with the curry powder kneaded into the dough. The ingredients included carrots, potatoes, and finely chopped beef. It had a mild flavor, suitable even for those who don't like spicy food. I also tried the Mini Jawa Curry Bread (Spicy) (189 yen), which had a rich flavor with gradual spiciness that spread. Similar to the Almond Curry Bread, it contained carrots, potatoes, and finely chopped beef. It had a fragrant and flavorful taste, recommended for those who enjoy spiciness. Lastly, I tried the Gobo and Cardamom-scented Chunky Beef Curry Bread (476 yen), which had a normal-sized curry bread with a diameter of about 9cm. It had two large pieces of beef, cardamom and other spices, burdock, ginger, carrots, and potatoes, creating a deep and flavorful taste. It had a hint of sweetness within the spiciness. All the curry breads were of high quality and delicious, as expected from a brand like House. I followed the heating instructions provided when purchasing, and it turned out great. Thank you for the meal!

I came to the event venue at Yokohama Sogo, thinking it was a chance for Kanto people, and I wanted to try the Vermont Curry Pan, which won the highest gold award in the West Japan Fried Bread Division at the Curry Pan Grand Prix 2021, and the European-style Curry Pan with Diced Beef, which won the highest gold award in the West Japan Fried Bread Division at the Curry Pan Grand Prix 2023. Each is limited to 150 pieces per day, so I wonder if they are still available. I was able to buy the Vermont Curry Pan, Rich Cheese Curry Pan, and the Java Curry Pan, which won the highest gold award in the West Japan Fried Bread Division at the Curry Pan Grand Prix 2022. After paying, I looked around and found frozen curry pans. When I asked the staff, they said it was the same product, so I added the European-style Curry Pan with Diced Beef. I will reheat them at home and enjoy them. I will eat the frozen curry pan using the specified reheating method. I will eat while measuring because when I cut it in half, it seemed like the filling was going to spill out, but I managed to put it on the plate. The crust is crispy, and despite being fried bread, it is not greasy, making it easy to eat. There were three pieces of beef inside. The European-style curry is more sweet than spicy (although it is labeled as medium spicy). The meat is tender, and the bread dough is sweet, making it a curry pan that anyone can enjoy. For the next bread, I am reheating it not using the specified method, but using the bread menu on our Bistro oven toaster. The Java Curry Pan (spicy) has a crispy and chewy crust. The curry inside is not very spicy at first, but the spiciness accumulates as you eat. The curry with the flavor of onions and spices is delicious. The Vermont Curry Pan (sweet) is a curry pan with the name of House Foods' representative roux curry. The crust is the same dough, I think. The filling has a nostalgic feel, maybe because of the name. It is not spicy, and the sweetness of apples and honey is delicious. Finally, the Rich Cheese Curry Pan (medium spicy) looks a little different. I think it's because the cheese is coming out on the outside, but it burst when reheated. No harm done, but the appearance was disappointing. However, since I was going to cut it in half anyway, it doesn't matter. This seems to be a new product. It is a curry with plenty of cheese and a rich flavor. It is also labeled as medium spicy, but it is not very spicy, making it suitable for everyone. All the curry pans were filled with curry inside, giving them a satisfying taste. They were delicious curry pans. Thank you for the meal.

I tried the mini European-style curry bread with medium spiciness for the first time and it was delicious! Since it's mini, it's small and easy to eat. The dough has a moderate thickness and is slightly thin. The dough is chewy and good. The medium spiciness with a hint of spiciness is really delicious. The curry flavor is also delicious. I think it would be even more delicious if it was toasted to make it a little more crispy.

The Hankyu Umeda store in Osaka is located on the basement 2nd floor. It's an area where they sell side dishes, bread, cakes, and more. I visited around 7:30 pm on a weekday, and at this time some shops were having a time sale. The curry bread set of 3 was discounted to 991 yen (tax included). I'm not sure what time the time sale starts, but there were 3 types available, so I might buy one of each. There were about 3 people in line, but since there weren't many types, I quickly got my turn. They seem to use House curry. They also have mini curry bread, which seems perfect for a snack. The rich cheese curry bread had a thin crust and wasn't greasy at all. It was fluffy and the cheese added a mellow sweetness. The filling was not very distinguishable, but the curry had a nostalgic taste. The European-style curry bread with diced beef was medium spicy and had chunky beef and other fillings. I used PayPay for payment. The bag they put the bread in was cute! (It's free) Thank you for the meal! (*´ω`*)

[July 2023 Curry Bread Adventure♪] A chef who trained at a popular and hard-to-reserve restaurant in Tokyo successfully opened a new restaurant in Fukushima, Osaka, after going through the challenges of the pandemic. I was invited to a private event, even though I didn't know much about the chef (which turned out to be a mistake as I had actually dined with them before at another event). Since the restaurant where they trained is well-known, I gladly accepted the invitation and headed to Umeda, Osaka. The restaurant is closest to Shin-Fukushima on the JR Loop Line, but I decided to explore Umeda for some bread before leisurely walking there. I found an interesting place through a search on Tabelog for Umeda x Bread - the serious curry bread collaboration between House Foods and Hankyu Umeda Store. The selling point is the generous amount of ingredients, so I purchased the following: [July 2023 Curry Bread Purchases♪] - Jawa Curry Bread (350 yen) - known for Jawa curry by House Foods - Diced European-style Curry Bread (440 yen) - curry bread with a rich Fond de Veau base - Former Yam Residence Supervised Curry Bread (440 yen) - a limited edition curry bread supervised by the former Yam Residence curry restaurant. The first thing that surprised me about these curry breads was their weight! They felt surprisingly heavy when handed to me! I was even more surprised when I cut them in half to find the generous amount of ingredients inside! The bread's chewy texture also complemented the curry well, making it a delightful experience. These curry breads were definitely not to be underestimated. Location: Hankyu Department Store Umeda Basement

Today, I finally got to buy the "Old Yam Mansion Collaboration Curry Bread" that has been on sale since the end of April. If you have tried the curry at the Old Yam Mansion before, you will definitely think "Yes, this tastes like the Yam Mansion." The spiciness is mild, and the meat has a nice chunky texture. It's a bit pricey, but worth it. It's a limited-time item, so I'll definitely buy it again soon.

Located inside Hankyu Department Store, this bakery offers a variety of curry bread using familiar curry roux such as Jawa curry and European-style curry. They have both large and small sizes available. This time, I purchased mini-sized Jawa curry and European-style curry. The bread is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, which is delicious! The curry roux is also tasty, of course. Thank you for the meal.

This is a curry bread shop in Osaka that uses Osaka curry. They offer interesting varieties such as Vermont curry, Jawa curry, and Western-style curry. I bought the Jawa curry bread. When I tried it, it tasted just like Jawa curry. It has a homey flavor with chunks of potatoes in it. The curry is generously filled inside, making it very satisfying to eat.

Umeda Hankyu Department Store's B1F "Curry Pan Nohi". I bought croquettes and fried horse mackerel using the usual variety, and when I looked next to me, I saw curry bread being sold. It's a shop run by House Foods. The cream stew was sold out, so I decided to get a set of 6 mini assorted curry breads for 1080 yen. I think it will be good for breakfast or lunch tomorrow. The set includes 2 Mini Vermont Curry Bread (sweet), 1 Mini Java Curry Bread (spicy), and 3 Mini Western-style Curry Bread (medium spicy). Each piece costs 189 yen, so the set of 6 for 1080 yen is a little bit of a deal. There are instructions for heating in the microwave included. The free paper bag is quite large and makes the purchase feel special. I heated them in the microwave and enjoyed them. Despite being mini, the size is decent. The bread crumbs are fine and easy to eat. I tried the sweet and medium spicy flavors, and they both had a slightly different color and ingredients, but they were delicious. It's also good as a snack. (^-^)

I often walk on the basement floor, but I didn't notice this store. It looked interesting so I decided to try a mini European-style curry bread. The bread dough is thin and the filling is thick, tasting exactly like House brand retort curry. As a curry bread, I think it's pretty good.

I found these curry breads at Hankyu Umeda when I was looking for souvenirs. They are collaboration products with Hankyu Department Store. I bought 3: Jawa Curry Bread (378 yen), European-style Curry Bread with diced meat (475 yen), and Cheese Keema Curry Bread (475 yen), totaling 1,328 yen. My husband ate the Jawa Curry Bread before I could take a photo, but he said it was delicious with a good amount of filling and just the right spiciness. The Cheese Keema Curry Bread had a chewy texture with tapioca flour, plenty of minced meat and cheese, and a delicious level of spiciness. The European-style Curry Bread had plenty of diced beef and a flavorful roux, also very tasty. Although they may seem a bit pricey, they are worth it once you taste them. I wish I had bought more because they were all delicious.

Today when I came back from work, there was a curry bun waiting for me. It's a curry bun. My wife was apparently in Umeda today. Of course, mine is the Java curry bun, spicy. It's much smaller than my fist, a cute little thing. I heard it's tastier if you warm it up a bit in the toaster. Let's dig in. It's just the right amount of spicy, with a hint of Worcestershire sauce in the flavor. It's a bit light on the filling... Is this supposed to have a lot of filling? The dough is nice and chewy. Goes well with beer. I wonder how much this costs... Oh, I just got a new phone and was looking forward to the next review, but I never expected it to be about a curry bun... Anything is fine, but why aren't the photos coming out nice and clear?

During a trip with my friends to Osaka on March 12th and 13th, we visited several bakeries in the area. One of the shops we visited was "Curry Pan Nohi" located inside Hankyu Department Store. This shop is a collaboration between Hankyu Department Store and House Foods, offering curry bread made with familiar Vermont Curry (mild) and Java Curry (spicy). Although I was intrigued by the European-style curry bread with diced beef, I decided to go with the classic spicy curry bread this time. I brought it back for a snack with drinks later that evening (please don't judge my choice of alcohol). Unlike typical curry bread from other bakeries, this one had a softer texture with a surprising crunch when I bit into it. Curious, I looked up their official website and found out that they use tapioca flour in the dough, which explains the unique texture. Despite the higher price due to being in a department store, I highly recommend trying this product at least once. I'm looking forward to trying the mild curry bread next time. (8th photo is an illustration of the curry bread)

Located a 3-5 minute walk from Umeda Station is the curry bread specialty shop, Curry Pan Nohi. Situated in the basement food section of Hankyu Department Store, this popular shop stands out as it offers a variety of side dishes in addition to curry bread. Their Java Curry and Vermont Curry filled curry breads are highly recommended for their homey and easy-to-eat flavors that appeal to all ages and genders. This time, I ordered the popular Vermont Curry Bread. This curry bread, which has won the Gold Award at the Curry Bread Grand Prix, is filled with sweet Vermont curry inside a thin crust. The balance between the crispy bread dough and the Vermont curry was outstanding! Although it may be a bit pricey, if you are a curry bread lover, I highly recommend visiting this shop at least once. Bon appétit!

This is a curry bread shop by House in Hankyu Department Store in Umeda. Hankyu Umeda is actually a store filled with luxurious versions of popular snacks like Pocky, potato chips, and Happy Turn. Among them is House's high-end curry breads (lol) with names like Java Curry and Vermont Curry. ■■■ Food ■■■ ▼ European-style curry bread with diced beef 476 yen (February 21) The crust is incredibly chewy and thin. According to the website, tapioca flour is kneaded into it! (lol) The dough is not greasy, so it's easy to eat. The aroma and taste are... well, just like regular curry. It has some sweetness and a bit of spiciness. There are chunks of softly cooked meat in it. I don't really feel the potatoes or anything... And... it's quite expensive... ▼ Vermont Curry Bread (sweet) 378 yen Certainly sweet. It's different from Vermont Curry, but it also has a honey-like sweetness. ■■■ Closing Remarks ■■■ There are frozen and individually packaged options available for online shopping, which can be easily heated in the microwave, showcasing their product development skills. It would be nice if they were a bit cheaper though... Well, I guess that's how it is in department stores (lol) Thank you for the meal.

Vermont Curry Bread (mild) ¥378 Winner of the Curry Bread Grand Prix 2021 Western Japan Fried Curry Bread Division Highest Gold Award! I happened to pass by and saw this. I couldn't resist buying it after reading such an introduction~. But I couldn't eat it myself. The feedback I heard was that it was really delicious! There are several varieties, so I will try a different one next time. Thank you for the meal!

I ate curry bread. It's a curry bread shop run by House. The location is at Hankyu Department Store. Now, should I try the Java curry... The curry bread has a thin dough with mostly curry inside. It's quite spicy. There are chunks of potatoes which are nice. It's a curry bread that can be eaten with rice.

Curry Bread Nohi! Chunky European-style curry bread! 475 yen! I felt like having bread today, so I went to a curry bread shop in Hankyu Umeda. Is it really delicious? One piece costs 475 yen. They also had the regular sweet curry bread, but I decided to go for the chunky European-style curry bread! First of all, the size of one piece is huge! It's bigger than a fist, haha. When I cut it open, I saw chunks of meat inside! When I took a bite, it was so delicious!!! It felt like I was eating something luxurious. The breadcrumbs on the outside are coarse and crunchy! When you chew, the bread coated with curry is soft and chewy! And the curry is delicious!! The meat is tasty too!!! But this costs 475 yen. I can't afford to buy it often, haha. I could have eaten two more pieces, haha. Ahhh!!! I should have bought more, lol. Thank you for the meal! Curry Bread Nohi! Definitely worth it!!!

On November 9, 2020, I enjoyed a luxurious "baked curry" with a large prawn at the curry restaurant "Bruno" on the 6th floor of Hankyu Department Store Men's Building (HEP Navio) in Osaka. On my way back to Osaka Metro Tanigami Line Higashi Umeda Station, I stopped by the sweets section on the basement 1st floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store and visited "Curry Pan Nohi" where I got the following items for takeout, all including tax: - Vermont Curry Bread (sweet) for 378 yen - Java Curry Bread (spicy) for 378 yen These curry breads are made with House Foods' popular "Vermont Curry" and "Java Curry" which are well-known in Japan. The bread is large and fluffy, filled with plenty of curry ingredients. The classic curry rice ingredients such as beef, potatoes, and carrots are generously cut into large sizes and mixed with curry powder, then wrapped in a thin dough that includes tapioca flour for a chewy texture. The end result is not greasy and remains delicious even when cold! In the 2019 commercial curry ranking, House Foods' "Vermont Curry" ranked 1st, "Java Curry" 2nd, and "Kokumaro Curry" 3rd, showing the popularity of House Foods' curry products. The "Vermont Curry," loved for over 50 years, has a sweet taste with apple paste, honey, and dairy products, making it a hit among both adults and children. I often use "Java Curry" for homemade curry these days, as it offers a refreshing spiciness from the spices and a rich flavor from roasted onions, creating an exciting curry for adults. Although these curry breads are priced 1.5 to 2 times higher than regular curry breads, they are large and satisfying, offering the familiar and delicious taste you can always rely on. The curry inside is packed generously, providing maximum satisfaction. Enjoy your meal! (●^o^●)

In November 2020, after work, I made a detour to Hankyu Umeda Main Store. I bought two curry buns at "Curry Pan Nohi" that I had been curious about for a while. ☆ Jawa Curry Bun (Spicy) 378 yen ☆ European-style Curry Bun with Diced Beef 476 yen It seems to be a collaboration product between House Foods and Hankyu Department Store. * In addition to Jawa curry, there were also sweet Vermont curry, etc. I ate them as soon as I got home. Jawa Curry Bun: The deep richness of roasted onions, cardamom, and roasted spices in the curry base was just right in terms of spiciness. When I was a student, I had the impression that Jawa curry was spicy, but now it was totally fine to eat. European-style Curry Bun with Diced Beef: It seemed to have a milder spiciness compared to Jawa with a European-style curry base. It was delicious with plenty of diced beef. Both buns had a crispy and chewy bread dough that paired well with the curry, and the generous amount of ingredients and their textures were well preserved, making them delicious. Thank you for the meal!
