I used to pass by this restaurant every day as it is directly connected to Tamachi Station. I was drawn in by the food samples in front of the store and decided to visit. I ordered curry udon topped with cheese and mochi. I was disappointed by the thin broth. Maybe this is how it's supposed to be, but it didn't suit my taste. The mochi was delicious, but mochi is usually tasty anyway. The only staff member was a woman in her 50s.

The udon served for lunch is a standout feature, with a chewy texture that has been aged overnight. The lunch set also includes a delicious katsudon. Personally, I prefer the katsudon to be sweet and savory, while the udon to be chewy with a strong texture, and a slightly sweet broth with just the right amount of seasoning. This restaurant is definitely to my liking. The katsudon features thick slices of pork cutlet on top of tasty rice. All of this for just 1000 yen including tax shows the effort put into the quality of the food.

When I think of "Kineya," I immediately think of their delicious "Oyakodon" with plenty of fluffy eggs simmered with shiitake mushrooms and thinly sliced bacon. It has a gentle flavor on its own, but it's even better when you add spicy oil and vinegar on the side to enjoy it in a sour and spicy soup style. The topping of "chikuwa tempura" is a must-have perfect companion. The set meal that includes this "Oyakodon" and a "Katsudon" with sweet broth is only 1000 yen including tax, making it a reasonable and filling option. I thoroughly enjoyed it. ♥️

However, on this day, I had lunch before going to work. I went to a udon restaurant in the underground food court of Yamatower. I didn't have a particular craving, so I just randomly chose this place. I always think it's nice that office buildings like Yamatower have so many dining options, so you can have lunch without having to go outside. Probably because of its location, it's popular among business people and was quite crowded. What I had that day (including tax): - Curry udon and rice set: 920 yen The curry udon had a delicious Japanese-style broth. The set with rice filled me up nicely. The food was served promptly after ordering, which is perfect for busy business people. Sometimes, having udon is nice too.

Sometimes, even in winter, you feel like eating cold udon noodles. When that happens, I recommend ordering the Katsudon set at Kineya Sanou Park Tower Building. This is a udon restaurant located on the basement floor of Sanwa Park Tower. I had the cold vegetable tempura udon with grated daikon radish. The noodles had a good texture and the freshly fried vegetable tempura was very delicious. The prices are reasonable and the cost performance is high. Thank you for the meal.

There are no unusual menu items like Tsurutontan, nor is it as cheap as Marugame Seimen, just a normal udon restaurant. The neighboring soba restaurant seems to be a chain as well, but I prefer coming here because I love udon. The tempura shrimp here is more delicious, perhaps due to the skill of the chef. I try different items on rotation, but the Kake Udon with shredded fish flakes is particularly tasty with the flavorful dashi broth. I also recommend trying the Crab Ankake Udon that appears in winter.

Tamagawaen Ranch. When it gets hot, I tend to break out in a strange sweat if I eat something that warms up my body before visiting places. So, I chose this udon restaurant. I was attracted to dishes like katsudon set meal and oyakodon set meal, but today I wanted something cold... However, I wasn't sure about zaru udon. Luckily, I found the perfect menu for me: "Cold Bukkake Beef and Tororo Udon"! And it turns out that the lunch comes with a free large serving, so I ordered the large size. Since it's a chain restaurant, there aren't any distinctive features in the udon or the seasoning of the ingredients, but the sweet and savory simmered beef with tororo, egg yolk, okra, and udon was delicious.
