To put it mildly, the delicious Chicken Nanban at Shinbashi Sanchome Uoichiba was a hit. The staff, with their unique charm, served up tasty Miyazaki cuisine that was simply delightful. This is definitely a recommended spot where you can casually drop by. The Chicken Nanban is incredibly generous in portion size! #ShinbashiSanchomeUoichiba #ShinbashiGourmet #Izakaya #ChickenNanban #MiyazakiCuisine

At Shinbashi, we decided to hop around for drinks, and managed to find a table for three during our spare time. The place was packed with people. If you're alone, it's manageable, but for a group, reservations are a must. We planned for a short visit, but ended up spending more than expected due to the rule of one food item per person. We tried the specialty chicken sashimi platter for around ¥2980 for 1-2 people, which was surprisingly delicious with fresh cuts of thigh, breast, liver, and gizzard. The chicken skin with ponzu sauce was around ¥800, crispy and tasty, although I'm not a fan of the slimy texture of the skin. The delicacy for around ¥900 was simply labeled as "delicacy" on the menu, but turned out to be bonito with sake lees. It was good, but a bit pricey for a quick visit. The atmosphere at the counter was more suited for a romantic date, so it's better for a leisurely experience.

Exploring Tokyo gourmet! Visiting the popular restaurant "Shinbashi Sanchome Uoichiba" known for Miyazaki jidori chicken and fresh seafood in Minato-ku, Shinbashi. It was my first visit and I was welcomed by a friend from Kyoto for a gathering in Shinbashi. After some indecision on where to go, we ended up at a restaurant recommended by a member's acquaintance. From Shinbashi Station Uomori exit, we walked along Uomori Street and passed through Yanagi Street until we found the white-walled restaurant with a red sign. They serve a variety of dishes made with fresh fish caught from Miyazaki Aoshima waters and Miyazaki jidori chicken. We ordered the specialty jidori chicken tataki, eggplant simmered dish, potato salad, and a sashimi platter. We also added smoked ika (squid) with mascarpone cheese. We started with a refreshing draft beer to quench our thirst. Cheers! The appetizer of marinated tuna with grated yam was delicious. The potato salad with plenty of bacon was flavorful, and the simmered eggplant was sweet and tender. The smoked ika with mascarpone cheese had a great crunchy texture. The sashimi platter featured fresh fish from Miyazaki and Aoshima waters, including yellowtail, amberjack, and red snapper. The jidori chicken tataki was topped with plenty of green onions, offering a firm texture and a delicious flavor. We also ordered smoked ginnan (ginkgo nuts) and grilled jidori chicken thigh. The ginnan had a slightly bitter and smoky flavor, while the grilled chicken thigh had a perfect charred aroma and a crispy texture. The seafood and jidori chicken dishes were all excellent. I will definitely come back for more! Delicious and exquisite!

There aren't many shops open for business, but this place called "Fish Market" was open. The chicken tataki was quite good. The place serves a potato salad as a complimentary appetizer. The rule is to order one drink and one food item per person. I had the winter melon with sansho pepper and it was nicely presented with finely chopped ham and daikon radish. The chicken tataki was generous and delicious. The Heartland beer served in a large glass was quite filling. The restaurant closes at 1 am, even on a Friday night. It seems they don't stay open late for those who want to drink until the early hours.

In Shinbashi, even on Sundays during the state of emergency, there was a grateful restaurant that was open for lunch. While takeout and home drinking became options, the lunch menu was attractive, so I chose to dine in. After disinfecting, we were guided to a counter seat with acrylic partitions. The lunch menu starts from 980 yen for pork belly stew or sashimi. I ordered sashimi, received a cloth towel, and waited at a seat with alcohol disinfectant and soy sauce for about 17 minutes. The plate was brought to me, officially called "Pickled Sashimi Set." The sashimi was pickled, with various parts like trimmings pickled, which paired well with rice. There were 7 side dishes (mentaiko tofu, chicken nanban, salad, lotus root, etc.), wasabi, shiso, and green onions, as well as dashi for ochazuke. After enjoying the side dishes, I turned the remaining pickled sashimi into ochazuke, making it a satisfying meal with a cashless payment.

I have been watching Dave Okubo's Youtube channel a lot recently, and he introduced a friend's restaurant, so I decided to visit for the first time. The location is near Maihama, diagonally across from Otakos. For lunch, they offer two options: pickled sashimi set meal and a daily special. The daily special on this day was chicken nanban set meal. I love chicken nanban, but I ended up ordering the pickled sashimi set meal (980 yen). The food arrived in less than 10 minutes, and it looked amazing! In the middle was pickled sashimi, chicken nanban, mentaiko tofu, salad, seaweed chawanmushi, shellfish, miso soup with grated yam, and pickled vegetables. First, I tried the salad, then the mentaiko with rice, which was delicious. The pickled sashimi was also tasty, and the chicken nanban went perfectly with the rice. The seaweed chawanmushi was a new experience for me, and it was good. The shellfish had a nice flavor, and everything I tried was delicious. They offer free refills for rice, so I got a large serving. Putting the pickled sashimi on top of the rice and pouring the broth over it was heavenly. I finished it all in no time. It was so delicious. Is it really only 980 yen for all this? Thank you for the wonderful meal. I wish I had discovered this place sooner. I paid with PayPay and received a business card with a QR code for takeout. I thought it would be great for takeout as well as for lunch. I will definitely visit again.

I chose the voluminous lunch set with a small bowl filled with assorted pickles. There were more than 2 types of pickles, and the amount of sashimi was generous with a sweet flavor, making it delicious! There were also appetizers and condiments, so after enjoying the pickles, I had ochazuke. The set included chilled tofu, chawanmushi, fried dish, simmered dish, pickles, miso soup, and it was quite a large portion, but each item was in an easy-to-eat size which was pleasing. Overall, the flavors leaned towards sweetness, but it was not overpowering, and personally, I found it very easy to eat! I will visit again if I have the chance.

Recently, Nobuta has been frequenting a specific shop around the Karasumori Shrine, and if that place is full, they target another shop in the Maihama area. On this day, they entered the 41st shop on their Shinbashi lunch walk, which is "Shinbashi Sanchome Uoichiba" (Shinbashi Third Fish Market). This place caught their attention because they only offer a "daily lunch" menu, with a whiteboard advertising "5 small side dishes" that come with it. The daily main dish changes every day, ranging from grilled fish, simmered fish, sashimi, and more. Nobuta finds this aspect intriguing. Despite the lack of lunch reviews on Tabelog, they decided to be the first "sacrifice" and visited on 1/17. The daily special that day was a marinated fresh fish lunch set with dashi, which could also be made into dashi chazuke. It came with 5 small side dishes, unlimited rice refills, and miso soup for 980 yen. The cozy restaurant had a counter with 6 seats and tables for 4 and 6 people. The lunch set was impressive, with the main dish surrounded by potato salad, tofu, pickles, side dishes, and chicken nanban. The miso soup was made with fish broth, a nice touch for an izakaya. Nobuta found the lunch delicious and reasonably priced, considering the quality. Overall, they enjoyed their meal at this fish market izakaya.

I was quite drunk and looking for a second bar to go to... It was already past 11 PM, and most of the shops were closed. I couldn't believe how early everything shuts down in Shinbashi. Despite there being so many shops around... That's when I saw a sign that said "Open until morning." I jumped in. The place was quite crowded. Luckily, there were three seats available at the counter, so we sat side by side. The place had a nice, homely atmosphere. I was surprised when I looked at the drink menu. Premium shochu was cheap. Brands like Maou and Murao were only 880 yen per glass, a great deal. I ordered Maou on the rocks right away. We started with chicken skin with ponzu sauce. It was delicious, and the drinks were going down smoothly. We also had potato salad with boiled eggs, edamame, and tamagoyaki, and that's when I realized this was a Miyazaki cuisine restaurant. They even had fish roe. Well, I was already drunk, so it didn't really matter. I then ordered the grilled Miyazaki chicken thigh. It was smoking and charred, and the taste was amazing. The texture and smoky flavor make you want to eat more. I also had Murao on the rocks, and I was completely satisfied. I found a great restaurant.

As I walked towards the hotel after watching a play, I noticed that many shops were closing early for a weekend. Most shops were closing at 11 pm, with some even closing at 10 pm. It's almost 10 pm now, and I wanted to have a relaxing meal for at least two hours and enjoy some good drinks. I was relieved to find this restaurant in the midst of many shops closing early. The restaurant had a kitchen on the left, a counter in front, and tables filling up the rest of the space. I looked at the menu and saw many Kyushu-style dishes, including croquettes that I remembered from a cooking show. I ordered the croquette and beef tongue because I was craving for beef. My partner chose the rare cheese-topped Iburi Gakko, and I ordered hot sake because I was feeling cold. As I enjoyed the hot sake, the dishes arrived, but unfortunately, many of them were too tough for my weakened teeth, which was disappointing. The restaurant had a fun atmosphere and friendly staff, but it didn't quite match my personal taste. Still, I am grateful to the restaurant for providing warmth.

I remember about 6 years ago when I was transferred to Osaka, my friends threw a farewell party for me at this restaurant. However, when I visited again after a long time, the interior had completely changed. The sunken kotatsu seating that used to be there was gone, and the restaurant now only had a counter and table seating. The Miyazaki cuisine was delicious overall, but the standout dish was the Miyazaki jidori chicken grilled to perfection, which even my two dining companions praised. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to take photos, but I would rate this experience a 3.5 out of 5, making it a borderline candidate for a revisit. We stayed for about 3 hours, and it wasn't until we were leaving that another group of 3 and a solo diner arrived. It seemed like business in Shinbashi was still struggling a bit, possibly due to the ongoing pandemic. I wonder if the menu will be exactly the same next time I visit. If so, I might wait a while before returning.

Marinated sashimi set meal for 980 yen. I was imagining something like tuna for the marinated part, but it mainly consisted of white fish with a few different side dishes. There were about 10 pieces, which was quite satisfying. The seasoning was on the sweet side, reminiscent of the Izu Islands specialty "island sushi." It's delicious as it is, but leaving about a third and making ochazuke with dashi really adds to the value. In addition to the main dish, there were plenty of side dishes, including 7 small bowls of miso soup and pickles. They even included the popular chicken nanban, which was a nice touch. The seasoning overall was on the stronger side like you'd expect from an izakaya, making it easy to eat with rice. And the fact that you can get seconds is a bonus for big eaters. Shinbashi is known for having many affordable and tasty lunch spots, but not all of them live up to the hype. However, this restaurant is definitely worth recommending. I'm looking forward to trying it out for dinner after the state of emergency is lifted.

We randomly walked into a crowded restaurant and managed to squeeze in. We ordered "Original Mero" for 680 yen, "Yagen & Seseri Mix" for 1380 yen, "Potato Fries" for 580 yen, "Oven-baked Meat" for 680 yen, and the daily recommendation for 1176 yen, along with some drinks. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our drinks.
