It had been a while since I visited, and it had turned into a ticket machine. The location is in the basement of the main building of the National Diet. It has become a soba noodle restaurant. Their tempura rice bowl is also popular. I ordered the beef tendon curry and cold Tanuki soba set. The price was 690 yen, which is cheap. The rich curry was thick and delicious. It had a good depth of flavor. The soba noodles soaked in sweet sauce with crispy tempura bits and seaweed were just right. The cold Tanuki soba was delicious.

Located in the basement of the House of Councillors is a soba restaurant. Today, I had the pork and mushroom dipping soba, priced at 630 yen. It came with two servings of soba noodles topped with plenty of pork and mushrooms in a flavorful dipping sauce. The first extra serving of noodles is only 100 yen. They also offer individual tempura items like chicken tempura for 100 yen each, which is very reasonable. This soba restaurant is frequented by many politicians. The soba noodles are slightly soft, and the dipping sauce is on the sweeter side. Each table is pre-set with soba broth.

This place seems a bit hard to find and is not visited by many people other than those involved. There are three soba noodle shops inside the parliament building. One is located next to Yoshinoya on the way to the House of Representatives main building and the Members' Office Building, called Nichioan. Another popular one is Issa Soba on the way to the House of Councillors side. And then there's this one. Not many non-staff visitors come here, as it is located in the basement of the House of Councillors main building and is the only shop there. The soba noodles are hand-cut with a focus on quality. There are various types of soba noodles available, including limited-time options, so you won't get bored. The soba noodles are homemade, and the dipping sauce is also homemade and additive-free. While it may not be as good as hand-made authentic soba noodles, it is still delicious and comparable to soba shops in town. If you visit multiple times, you may want to try the limited number of tempura rice bowl sets (also available with soba noodles). The tempura rice bowl costs 710 yen, and the set with soba noodles costs 860 yen.
