Since the Tamago Kake Gohan event at Sunshine City, this is the first time I've encountered a tamago yasan (egg shop). Just the idea of being able to try local eggs from all over Japan gets me excited. You can choose 6 eggs for 900 yen. They also sell soy sauce and chili oil that go well with tamago kake gohan. This limited-time pop-up shop will be open until July 11th. I think I'll be able to come back one more time.

~Follower's Stalking Log [PART3]~ The trigger was seeing the follower's September log. I remembered seeing them selling at Omiya Station before, so I commented, and they seemed to recommend "Yumeo". Looking at the picture, the yolk was quite red. They kindly informed me that it will be sold in Omiya from 11/25 to 12/1. A good opportunity. Hmm, what kind of eggs are these? There are many types and it's hard to choose. I picked Hyogo's "Yumeo" first. Also Akita's "Kizuna of the Yolk", Kochi's "Yuzutama", Ibaraki's "Premium Okukuj", Hyogo's "Japan's Best Egg", and Tochigi's "Watanabe Farm Hiyori". It cost 800 yen for 6 eggs. Expensive. After returning home, I cooked rice and tried them immediately. I was so hungry. "Yumeo", when cracked and put on rice, I was just amazed by the redness of the yolk. When mixed, the redness stands out even more. Eating it, the rich flavor and umami were surprising. Indeed. Just as the follower recommended. Wow. So this is what premium eggs taste like. My appetite was ignited. Second cup. Akita's "Kizuna of the Yolk". The yolk is a vivid yellow compared to "Yumeo". I felt a different kind of sweetness and umami. Eggs can change so much depending on how they are raised. Third cup, feeling a bit dizzy. Well, the amount of rice I served was light. Essentially, it's about the amount of the second cup. Kochi's "Yuzutama". As soon as I cracked it, a striking yuzu scent. Wow... Can eggs do this? How?? Interestingly, the sweetness I feel with this egg is somehow fruity. Is it because of the scent, or can eggs really taste like that? ~I apologize for underestimating these premium eggs until now!!~ There are 3 left. The excitement continues. Thank you for the meal! ~Date~【Introduction 333rd store/Log No.385】【Purchased; 2021/11/27 Untested on Tabelog】

The taste is undeniably delicious but the price is quite high. The eggs have various characteristics and they have a rich and distinct flavor as described.

I heard that there was a special venue inside Omiya Station selling famous eggs, so I decided to check it out. They were selling six eggs for 800 yen. It was a bit pricey, but it was fun to try different varieties. I finally finished eating - all of them were Tamago Kake Gohan (raw egg over rice). The best one was the "16th Generation Red Egg" from Aomori Prefecture, it had the most distinctive flavor. It was a fun experience!

Early this month, following our visit to Ikebukuro Station, we arrived at Akihabara Station to visit the "phantom egg shop." My girlfriend, who wanted to buy some for her workplace, brought me along. This time, we found the rare "Tosa Jiro" eggs, which instantly boosted her excitement. We ended up buying 6 different types of eggs, including the Tosa Jiro, for our home as well. Over the next 3 days, we enjoyed a luxurious TKG breakfast, with the winner of rock-paper-scissors deciding who got to eat which egg each day. My girlfriend won twice, and I won once. I ended up eating the Noses Ouhann eggs, Fumichan's eggs, and Yukari eggs. We made sure to switch and taste each other's eggs with just a bite or two. The Dream King eggs were definitely the best, with their rich flavor standing out. The Tosa Jiro, despite being touted as rare, was a bit underwhelming, surprisingly average. The Harima eggs had a good impression following the Dream King. The Yukari eggs were surprisingly flavorful without soy sauce, with a sweet dashi-like taste. When we added soy sauce, it brought out a depth of flavor. The Noses Ouhann eggs and Fumichan's eggs had a balanced and delicious taste that didn't get boring. I used to scoff at the idea of luxury eggs, but trying out different varieties was quite interesting! Rock-paper-scissors with my girlfriend also added some excitement to our mornings. Thank you for the meal! ~Date~【3rd post/Log No.759】【Tasted: 2022/10/28-30, Foodlog Rating: 3.01】

Her favorite, elusive egg shop. It was around last autumn when she posted about it in the comments section. That was the catalyst that made her timidly open the door to the world of high-end eggs that she had previously mocked. And boy, was she surprised!! The Dream King with its intense yellow yolk color, richness in flavor, and depth. The Yuzu-tama really had the scent of yuzu. The world of eggs left her stunned about what was going on. So, this time, she caught the schedule for when they would be selling at Ikebukuro Station. She bought some as souvenirs and brought them back for us. We enjoyed three different types each morning for three consecutive days, indulging in a rich breakfast of egg over rice!! How about that!? How about that!? Hahaha!! Of course, because these eggs are sold at a high price, they are completely different from the regular 218 yen per pack you would find at a store. The taste of the eggs is just so intense!! Among them, the Dream King was truly impressive! It was incredibly delicious! My kind girlfriend who kindly let me have some, but I made sure to share a bite with her too. Naturally. The Kome-ade that she had on the first day was unique. The yolk was white and creamy. It felt like it wasn't even an egg, a strange and fresh texture. We indulged in this kind of happiness and luxury from the morning for three consecutive days! We had a great day, whether it was a holiday or work. Cheers♪ Thank you for the meal♪♪ Good news. It seems they will be coming to Oji Station and Akihabara Station soon. ~Date~ [2nd post/log No.748] [Date: 2022/10/9-11, Food log rating 3.01]

It's a regular Tuesday. I took the monorail in the morning to the International Exhibition Center station. Here, I met up with a beautiful colleague and S-chan. We walked to Ariake Garden. As soon as it opened at 10 o'clock, the three of us flooded into the store. Our goal was the elusive eggs from the Japanese Tamago Kake Gohan Research Institute. And this time, they are collaborating with the Retort Curry Museum, so we also came to buy retort curry. The fresh eggs from here have been popular among my colleagues, and they are available for a limited time at places like the station and department stores. There are stores in Honkomagome and Sugamo, which are only open on weekends. When we were at the eel club with the beautiful colleague, we bought eggs and then ate eel, using the eggs from here. At Urawa PARCO and Ginza Mitsukoshi, the director of the Japanese Tamago Kake Gohan Research Institute was there, but this time he is also at Ariake Garden! I said to the beautiful colleague, "Director~ I'm here again~♡" The director replied, "I'm so happy that you came to this booth as soon as it opened!" While it's uncertain whether he remembered us, he was definitely pleased (´∀`♥) I had been to various places where the eggs were available, but Ariake Garden has a wide variety of eggs!! My excitement went up⤴︎ First, I picked up a pack of 6 empty eggs, divided into 6 sections, and wrote down the selected egg brand, expiration date, and place of origin on the paper. Then I put the eggs in and made a pack. 6 eggs for 800 yen. (ФωФ) It's expensive. There are many brands that I have never bought before, so I'm hesitating. Even among them, one that I definitely want is "Yume-Oh," which won the Grand Prix at the 2nd Tamago Kake Gohan Festival. It's overwhelmingly delicious♡ Even though I don't eat egg rice that much, I'm captivated (*´﹃`*) The three of us were bustling around, packing eggs, and I bought 2 packs. The beautiful colleague and S-chan bought 3 packs each. We also bought special soy sauce for egg rice, played capsule toys, and spent money. We also peeked into the adjacent Retort Curry Museum, and I bought a retort curry that costs over a thousand yen as a souvenir for my senior colleague who will clean it the next day~! We were giggling together, and then our mouths felt like a desert. Let's go buy some drinks~ ( 」´0`)」

I discovered a tamagoyaki (egg dish) shop inside Ebisu Station when I was trying to transfer from the Yamanote Line to the Hibiya Subway Line on the weekend. The shop is produced by the non-profit organization "Japan Tamago Kake Gohan Kenkyujo" with the aim of supporting egg producers who are struggling during the pandemic. They sell premium eggs that can be freely packed together for 6 eggs for 800 yen. I previously tried eggs from Hyogo Prefecture called "Yume-oh" at Tokyo Station and found them to be the best in terms of yolk color and flavor. This time, I purchased 3 eggs of Nagoya Cochin, 2 eggs of "Kouan" from Miyazaki, and 1 egg of "Japan's most dedicated egg" from Hyogo. The Nagoya Cochin eggs were delicious when eaten as tamago kake gohan (rice with raw egg). The Miyazaki and Hyogo eggs, when cooked as fried eggs and boiled eggs, were also delicious. Since this shop is produced by the "Japan Tamago Kake Gohan Kenkyujo," I hope to receive advice on recommended ways to eat the eggs based on different cooking methods.

After returning from a business trip to Yamanashi, my friend contacted me asking to buy eggs as we were running out. I decided to search online for some delicious eggs and came across a shop called "The Phantom Egg Shop" located near the south transfer gate of the Shinkansen at Tokyo Station. This shop is produced by the non-profit organization "Japan Tamago Kake Gohan Research Institute" with the aim of supporting producers during the pandemic. They have a shop open in Sugamo every weekend, and also participate in events in department store basements. I arrived at the venue by transferring from the limited express to the Chuo Line Rapid Service around 4:30 pm. The shop had premium eggs from various regions priced between 200 to 300 yen each. You could choose any 6 eggs and the staff would pack them for 800 yen. This was quite expensive compared to the usual 10 eggs for 265 yen at the supermarket. I decided to go with the Hyogo Prefecture's "Dream King" eggs, which the staff recommended as the most rich in flavor. Their catchphrase is "Overwhelmingly Crimson! Hyogo's super-premium eggs." I chose all 6 eggs to be Dream King to fully enjoy the rich taste. At home, I first tried egg over rice. When I cracked the egg and placed just the yolk on top of the rice, it was indeed red. It was a stark contrast to the yellow yolks of the eggs I bought at the Shimane Prefecture antenna shop in Hibiya. The flavor was rich and had a good depth. Since the taste was strong, just a small amount of Shimane's first egg over rice soy sauce "Otama Han" made a delicious egg over rice. Next, I tried sukiyaki. This time, I mixed the yolk and white together, resulting in a color similar to using just the yolk of a regular egg. It was also delicious. I heard that poultry farmers across the country are facing difficulties due to COVID-19 and bird flu. I want to support them by eating eggs as much as possible, even in a small way.

I have been there several times and I can't contain my excitement! I enjoy examining various types of eggs and having fun every time. There are clear descriptions of the characteristics, like bright red yolks or white yolks, which make it enjoyable just reading them. I learned a method of just grilling the whites from an acquaintance who is a food expert, and it is incredibly delicious! Be sure to try it out!

I don't know which one it is, but there seems to be an egg that costs 600 yen each, where you can enjoy the ultimate egg rice bowl. You can choose any number of eggs. 6 eggs for 800 yen.
