Located in West Nakasu on the Chuo side, this restaurant offers the best location with a view of the Naka River for sukiyaki cuisine. In addition to famous sukiyaki restaurants like "Iroha," "Daidai," "Torita," "Hamadaya," and "Nagano," there is also "Shinmiura" in Ginza, Tokyo. The ambiance is amazing as you enjoy sukiyaki while overlooking the river and the night view of Nakasu. The restaurant offers table seating, private rooms, and even has a branch in Ginza, Tokyo.
The "Jidori" (local chicken) sukiyaki course is priced at 5,000 yen and includes small appetizers, three types of chicken sashimi, grilled chicken wings, fried chicken cartilage, Hakata-style sukiyaki, egg soup, and dessert. This course is quite generous for the price, especially compared to "Iroha" where you would only get the basic sukiyaki and soup for the same price. The freshness of the chicken sashimi is evident, thanks to the proximity to the poultry farm in Hakata. The fried chicken cartilage is large and flavorful, a true delight.
The sukiyaki is prepared in the Hakata style, where you start by enjoying a cup of the flavorful soup seasoned with salt and yuzu pepper. Then, you cook and eat the chicken, followed by simmering minced chicken and vegetables (shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, and chrysanthemum greens) in the soup. The raw wheat gluten looks beautiful, and the richness of the chicken broth only intensifies as you continue cooking. Finally, the meal concludes with the classic sukiyaki finale, egg soup, which is a delicious amalgamation of flavors.
The value for money at this restaurant is exceptional, showcasing the high standards of Hakata sukiyaki. It was a delightful evening, and I felt the level of sukiyaki in Hakata. The first night in Hakata turned out to be a happy one. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
