I found a cafe that caught my interest while seeing its signboard before. It seemed to be closed during the state of emergency, but now the signboard was out again so I visited for the first time. It's close to the station but a bit hard to find. Locals might find it easier if you say it's above Ramen Hanamizuki. The cafe is on the 2nd floor. I could hear singing when I entered, which was a bit confusing, but it seemed to be from the karaoke school next door. There was one customer leaving as I entered, and another group of regulars. The place is surprisingly spacious, with slightly open windows for good ventilation, but it seems smoking is allowed. You can see the Seibu Line from the window! They serve a morning set with toast and a drink until 4 pm, so it's good for lunch too. They also have curry and spaghetti, typical cafe light meals, and both were priced at just one coin each, so I ordered one of each. The young female staff was handling everything alone. They also offer a boiled egg service now, which I tried as well! It's really good value for money. The curry and spaghetti that arrived shortly after seemed like they were from a retort pack, with decent taste but a generous portion. It's quite different from modern cafe food, more like a traditional coffee shop, which is interesting. It may be more suitable for chilling out than enjoying a meal. I wonder if it's really okay to be this cheap? Perhaps the main focus is the bar, and lunch and morning sets are just extras (I wonder what time the morning set is available from...). If that's the case, it must be a tough time now when they can't operate the bar fully (darts are usually played in a lively group setting, after all). Personally, I hope they can continue to provide a relaxed atmosphere, and it would be helpful if they could open from early hours.
