From the direction of Olinas, passing through Kinshi Park and turning towards Kinshicho Station just before the JR elevated railway, you'll see a sign for "udon". I didn't realize there was an udon shop in this area. Intrigued more by curiosity than hunger, I decided to go in without any prior research. Inside, there was an L-shaped counter in a bar-like setting. When I asked the staff, they mentioned that the shop had opened in April and offered a tempura course with drinks in the evening, while lunch service started later and sporadically. Apparently, they serve udon as the final course of the tempura course. The lunch menu includes: - Pork and green onion tsukedashi udon - Sesame cold soup udon - Warm egg cold meat bukkake Each priced at 800 yen for regular size and 900 yen for large. Side menu options include: - Shrimp tempura for 160 yen - Sandbora tempura for 160 yen - Maitake tempura for 110 yen - Eggplant tempura for 110 yen - Chikuwa tempura for 110 yen The noodle portion is 200g for regular and 300g for large. I decided on the large size of the pork and green onion tsukedashi udon and ordered the chikuwa tempura. The udon is not from Sanuki, Mizusawa, Goto, or Musashino, but an original recipe made by a separate noodle factory. The hand-stretched, round, medium-thick udon has the elasticity of Musashino udon and the smoothness of Mizusawa udon. The warm tsukedashi has a strong broth and seasoning, with grilled green onions, pork, and chopped (aburaage). Grating the sesame and adding finely chopped seaweed on top enhances the flavor even more. This is quite delicious. Since it's originally a tempura shop, the chikuwa tempura was also excellent. I might aim to try all the udon dishes on the menu... and maybe the tempura course in the evening too.

The order was "Tempura Course" + "Various Japanese Sake ✖︎ Five Cups", totaling ¥9350. Starting from the appetizers, the dishes were to my liking. The tempura was served at a relaxed but not too slow pace, perfect for drinking. One thing that caught my attention was that the roast beef for palate cleansing might need some improvement. The food was delicious and satisfying, the owner was welcoming, and the sake kept flowing, making it a pleasant dining experience. I particularly loved the lotus root tempura! When it started raining heavily as I was leaving, I asked if I could wait a bit longer inside, and they kindly let me stay, even offering me a complimentary glass of sake. I look forward to returning with someone else next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Just opened in April near Kinshicho Station, this unique restaurant offers udon for lunch and course-style tempura for dinner. Located behind the Lotte City Hotel, the restaurant has become quite popular recently, with reservations often fully booked. The "Fujisaki Tempura Course" priced at 5500 yen includes a variety of dishes such as shrimp, scallops, and roast beef salad. The tempura is freshly fried and perfectly cooked, with highlights being the shrimp, scallops, and dried persimmon with cream cheese. The meal ends with a satisfying udon noodles in meat and green onion broth. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience with a great value for the price.

Near Kinshicho Station, there is a popular oyster ramen shop called Sachi, and nearby, a new udon restaurant opened around April. It seems to be the location where a spice curry shop used to be. I didn't have the chance to visit before, but since it is a 30% PayPay return store in Sumida Ward, I decided to have lunch there. It was quite crowded during lunch peak hours on weekdays, so it might be better to go a bit later. The restaurant is small with only a counter, so it's best for groups of two or fewer. For lunch, they offer three types of udon, and I chose the warm egg cold meat udon for 800 yen in a large size with an additional 100 yen. The tempura looked delicious and reasonably priced, so I added the shiitake mushroom tempura and eggplant tempura, both for 110 yen each. The total came to 1120 yen with a points return of 336 yen. The meat in the cold meat udon was unexpectedly similar to low-temperature chashu. The udon noodles were medium-thin with a firm texture. The broth was average, and the large portion wasn't significantly bigger, but it was quite tasty. The highlight was the tempura, which had a good amount and was a steal at 110 yen each. Eating delicious tempura with salt at a tempura-focused restaurant during lunch is a great deal. I visited around 1 pm, and ordering all the tempura varieties for lunch with a beer and finishing with udon made for a great cost performance. Despite being busy, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant were good. While Goro is considered the best udon restaurant in Kinshicho, this place offers a reasonably priced tempura and udon course at night, making it a great option during the PayPay discount period.

My partner had been wanting to go to this place for a while, but it was irregularly open on Sunday afternoons so we hadn't been able to go before. Today, we saw that the lights were on and decided to go in. This place mainly serves udon for lunch. I ordered the Niku Negi Tsuke Jiru Udon (udon with meat and green onions) and my partner ordered the Goma Reishiru Udon (udon with sesame cold soup). Both were in large portions and cost 900 yen. If you're not a light eater or don't plan on eating at multiple places, I think the large portion is worth it. The udon noodles were firm and had a good texture. When dipped in the warm tsuke jiru soup, the combination was very satisfying. The grilled white onions added a nice aroma along with the savory taste of the fried tofu and pork. We finished by drinking the udon broth. The Goma Reishiru Udon had a great sesame flavor. Since my partner doesn't like shrimp, it might be difficult for us to come for the evening tempura course (5000 yen), but I'm considering coming alone because I enjoyed the food at this level.

I had been thinking that a new restaurant had opened, and during lunchtime, they serve udon. I thought it would be easy to go there alone, so I decided to visit. The menu has three types of udon and tempura toppings. I ordered the following:
⭐︎ Warm egg cold meat udon with sauce
⭐︎ Eggplant tempura
⭐︎ Fish cake tempura
Due to a busy time at the restaurant, they said it would take a bit longer, but the food arrived in about 15 minutes. The dish had a generous portion of meat, surrounded by green onions, cucumber, seaweed, and tempura flakes. In the middle was a warm egg. The presentation was beautiful. The udon noodles were cooked slightly firm, with a refreshing cold texture. I would have liked a bit more seasoning on the meat itself, and the sauce could have been a bit richer for my taste, but overall, it was elegantly put together and easy to eat. The tempura was also crispy and light, delicious. It makes sense that they serve tempura at night. At 110 yen each, the portion size was satisfying. The other two types of udon also looked delicious, so I am now tempted to try them all.

"Affordable tempura course and sake can be enjoyed at the restaurant 'Fujisaki'! You can enjoy a total of 12 freshly fried tempura dishes in a course for only 5,000 yen per person! There is also a good variety of sake, and this time I ordered 3 glasses. The course for the day included:
- Appetizer assortment (dried young sardines, smoked herring cream cheese, konjac with roe, minced meat cucumber, fish)
- Shrimp tempura
- Scallop tempura
- Sillago fish tempura
- Cold tofu with Parmesan
- Bitter melon tempura
- Edamame tempura
- Mackerel tempura
- Roast beef (unexpected but delicious)
- Lotus root and butterbur scape tempura
- Fig tempura
- Dried persimmon and cream cheese tempura
- Meat and green onion dipping sauce udon with kelp water
Hmm, when written out, it really is a generous amount of food!! The appetizer assortment in a wooden box got me excited! Opening the lid myself after it arrived, there were 5 amazing snacks inside. This made me want to drink sake from the start. The scallops, one of my favorite foods, were plump and delicious. The butterbur scape miso tempura was irresistible with sake. The tempura included both classic items and some unique ones. Especially, the fruit tempura at the end was surprisingly new and very delicious. The crispy texture of the dried fruit and the crunchy batter went really well together. There was even roast beef served in the middle, which was so delicious with the homemade sauce. The sake menu had 6 types listed on a board. If you ask the staff, they can also bring out other sake options from the back! All of them were refreshing and sharp, complementing the dishes well. Finally, despite being full and satisfied, shiny udon was brought out. Honestly, I thought I couldn't eat any more, but it was so delicious that I finished it all! They seem to offer udon for lunch, and I would definitely consider visiting just for that! Everyone, be sure to check it out!"

I went to a udon restaurant that opened in Kinshicho for lunch!
- Warm Tamago Cold Niku Bukkake Udon ¥900
Made with shiitake mushrooms, chikuwa, and noodles carefully crafted by the shop and flour shop, this dish combines elasticity and smoothness. Enjoy the medium-thick udon noodles. The homemade chashu is also exquisite.
- Tempura ¥110~
With a crispy texture, it complements the udon well.
There are only L-shaped counter seats in a clean store where you can enjoy your meal!

During the day, it seems to be an udon restaurant, but this time I visited during dinner time! For dinner time, it turns into a tempura restaurant, and this time I had a course meal. First, shrimp tempura♡ The tempura coating was extremely thin, allowing the taste of the ingredients to shine through. Next, scallop♡ The large scallop was served rare and incredibly fresh, enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon. Up to this point, the tempura is enjoyed with specialty salt. Then came the sand borer tempura♬ Delicious as always♡ From here, you can dip it in tempura sauce and grated radish to enjoy a different flavor profile. Next, tofu♡ A refreshing palate cleanser♡ Served with olive oil, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese (shaved from a block). The tempura included bitter melon♡ A representative summer vegetable♡ They source seasonal ingredients, so the menu changes accordingly! The bitterness of the bitter melon was just right, making it very enjoyable. If you're curious, try eating it with tempura sauce to reduce the bitterness. The edamame tempura was like kakiage, but the texture and flavor of the edamame were exquisite! Very delicious! The fish was served with shredded shiso and plum paste. Very delicious! The presentation on skewers was also great! The pickled ginger was served as a palate cleanser♬ This stylish pickled ginger with shredded shiso and white sesame was very stylish and delicious♬ I want to try making it at home! And the roast beef♡ The slow-cooked meat was incredibly tender♡ It's cooked for 3 hours. It was sandwiched between lotus root with miso. The dessert was amazing! Dried persimmon and cream cheese tempura♡ The dried persimmon was incredibly delicious♡ Rich and flavorful♬ It paired perfectly with the cream cheese, and I was impressed by how delicious it was to have it as a tempura♡ The final dish of udon was a dipping udon with firm noodles and a gentle soup♡ Usually dipping noodles tend to have a strong flavor, but this one was just right♬ It was incredibly delicious. And finally, you can enjoy udon-yu using the udon broth! It warms you up♡ It was a very hot day in the middle of summer, but it was delicious!

I visited an interesting restaurant called Fujisaki at the north exit of Kinshicho Station, where they serve udon during the day and a hidden gem-like tempura restaurant at night. The atmosphere is a mix of traditional and modern Japanese style. Upon entering the restaurant, I was amazed to see that the entrance door and window frames were reused from an old farmhouse, giving them a new life. The restaurant has a limited number of seats at the counter, so it's recommended to make a reservation in advance. The evening menu consists of a casual tempura course served in unique dishes.
The course started with a variety of appetizers served in a traditional Japanese box, including smoked cheese, marinated konjac with plum sauce, miso cucumber, grilled ayu fish, and chicken skin with ponzu sauce. The tempura was light and crispy, not overwhelming, allowing me to enjoy it without feeling too full.
I enjoyed fresh prawn tempura and large scallop tempura, which were both juicy and delicious. The scallop was served rare, giving it a tender texture. The tempura was accompanied by two types of salt - seaweed salt and pink rock salt, enhancing the flavors of the seafood.
Other highlights of the course included grilled fish, a refreshing tofu dish with black pepper, olive oil, and parmesan cheese, as well as various vegetable tempura like bitter gourd and edamame. The course also featured unique tempura items like dried sardines and roasted beef, which were tender and flavorful.
The meal ended with a special udon dish with a rich broth and toppings like grilled leeks, meat, and fried tofu. The broth was so delicious that I couldn't resist drinking every last drop. Overall, it was a satisfying course meal, and I look forward to pairing the tempura with sake on my next visit. The restaurant also offers a variety of tempting alcoholic beverages for those interested.

During work, I went to a new udon restaurant that I was curious about with my friend. It's located near the Lotte Hotel in Kinshicho. We ordered the meat udon, which was delicious with tender meat. The tempura topping was also crispy and tasty. It's affordable to add extra toppings for less than 1000 yen. The restaurant also offers a tempura course menu at night, which seems cozy and inviting. We also found a shop selling kinako sticks nearby and ended up buying two boxes impulsively. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

I visited for lunch. I ordered the warm egg cold noodles with meat sauce for 800 yen. The noodles had a good texture and were delicious. The meat was likely pork cooked at a low temperature, moist and tender without being overpowering. It's perfect for a hot day's lunch. The restaurant's interior is clean and relaxing.
