I wanted to go to Tsukiji Market but gave up due to the intense heat. However, I still wanted to eat Tsukiji sushi so I visited this place. At the entrance, a friendly staff member guided us to our seats and the clean interior made us feel comfortable. There were many lunch menu options to choose from, which made it difficult to decide. The staff even asked my son if he preferred more rice in his sushi, which made him very happy. The Negitoro and avocado sushi melted in our mouths and were delicious. We also received a dessert with our theater ticket, making us very satisfied. If I ever visit the area again, I will definitely stop by.

Last year, I didn't have a chance to eat "shinko" at all. At the beginning of the season, I kept being told "it's not available yet" and I was just casually saying "I'll have it eventually," but by the time I realized it, the season had already passed. It's not like I particularly love this type of sushi, but there's something about it that makes me crave it when the season comes around. So, this time I made sure to confirm that it was available when making a reservation and went to the restaurant. When I asked if they had "shinko" available, the chef showed me a bat with about 20-30 pieces of fresh baby salmon. I started with an omakase appetizer and had 3 pieces of shinko sushi. It had been 2 years since I last had it. I mentioned earlier that it's not my favorite, but it was still delicious. There's a certain premium feeling to it, knowing that you can only have it during this season. The chef said it will be available until around mid-August, but for now, I'm satisfied for this year (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

I went to TOHO Cinemas Hibiya to see the movie "River, Don't Run." Before that, I had lunch at Hibiya Chanter. I chose Tsukiji Sushisei, where I could be seated right away. It was my first time sitting at the counter, and I was a bit nervous sitting in front of the assistant manager. I had the Lunch Chirashi (with miso soup) for ¥1300, which was delicious with a variety of fresh ingredients. The miso soup was also tasty. Since I had a movie ticket, I also had dessert. The assistant manager asked me if I wanted warm or cold tea, which surprised me (I didn't know they had cold tea). His thoughtful gestures made my experience even better. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

It's been scorching hot lately, so I tend to eat light and refreshing foods like vinegar rice, soba, and somen, which I don't think is very good, but it's unavoidable. On this day, I went to Sushisei at Hibiya Shante. Although the main store is closer, I appreciate that they have counter seats available with plenty of space. We made a reservation for 5 o'clock and when we arrived, only our reserved counter seats were available. Perhaps due to the service for nearby movie and theater ticket stubs, there were many female customers. *At the time of entry, I was the only male customer at the counter. We ordered an appetizer omakase and my friend had his usual red wine. I chose the recommended local sake of the day, starting with "Ryujin Junmai Daiginjo" from Gunma. It was a bit too easy to drink, so next I tried "Shinsei Junmai Genshu" from Kyoto. This one was good. It had a sharp taste and a high alcohol content, I think? They didn't bring the bottle, so I'm not sure. But "Shinsei" was my first time trying it, and it was really good. When I was a kid, my dad used to drink it a lot, so I only had the image of "cheap sake." *Sorry to the manufacturer. I remember Junzaburo Ban saying "Want a drink?" in the CM. Looking back, there were a lot of sake commercials back in the day. I remember "Kikumasamune," "Hakutsuru," "Matsukurume," "Kikusui," "Daigin." "Kikumasamune" had a great song by Sachiko Nishida. Was it Tokiko Kato who sang the "Daigin" song? Well, from the appetizers to the sushi, we enjoyed it without any greasy dishes. Among the appetizers, the grilled young ayu skewers were good. At this time of year, you can usually find larger ayu, but for a sake appetizer, I think this size is just right. I'll definitely visit again.

This time, I visited on a weekday (Tuesday) around 6 pm and it was not crowded. They offer courses, but you can also order your favorites at the counter. [Appetizers] - Assorted sashimi: I asked for a random selection and got a little bit of everything. - Grilled salted salmon belly: Ordered from the menu of small dishes. I was a little late for lunch break. When I went to the basement floor of Hibiya Chanter, I saw that there were lines forming at each store. Now, where should I line up? As I was walking around, I noticed that there seemed to be vacant seats inside a sushi restaurant. "Excuse me, I'm alone, can I come in?" "Yes, we will seat you right away, please wait over there." I was relieved. The available seats were not reserved. I was guided to a table for two. I looked at the menu. Now, what kind of lunch set do they have? I chose the cheapest "lunch set" for 1,300 yen. A sushi lunch at this price is reasonable. The waiter brought me tea and a wet towel, and I placed my order. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Hmm, aren't they making me wait too long? Well, I have time today so it's okay, but if I were in a hurry, I might have been irritated. 12:33. Finally, the lunch set was brought to the table. It took exactly 20 minutes from ordering. The visual presentation was quite beautiful. The nine items on the plate were Thai, tuna, sweet shrimp, salmon, sardine, egg, medium-fatty tuna & avocado, clam, and inari sushi. This, along with miso soup, for 1,300 yen is indeed a good deal. I savored each piece slowly, and finished by 12:43. The 10 minutes of blissful time was short. But maybe it's just right to leave you wanting more. I left with a lingering feeling. Thank you for the meal! I want to come back at night next time. It's nice to sit at the counter, have some hot sake, and enjoy various sushi pieces little by little.

I visited before for a collaboration menu, and this was my second time. I ordered the collaboration menu for 1,980 yen. Even though I didn't have a reservation, I was seated at the counter after a short wait. As soon as I sat down, I was served hot tea and a steamed egg custard as part of the set. The main dish, chirashi sushi, had large slices of tuna and shrimp in the middle, just the right amount. The miso soup was also piping hot. When I finished eating, the chef noticed my JB T-shirt and said, "Are you going to a concert? If you'd like, I can offer you a dessert." I had forgotten about the half-ticket service! Thank you, chef! I was completely satisfied, even with the mini dessert. I will definitely come back again.

On October 16, 2022, I went to have lunch before attending Chise Harada's special concert at Tokyo International Forum. I visited Hibiya Chanter, which was offering a collaboration menu with "Elisabeth" for the umpteenth time. I had the Elisabeth collaboration menu, which included a seafood bara chirashi. The bara chirashi and chawanmushi were both delicious. This restaurant usually offers a dessert with a ticket service, but unfortunately, I didn't have the ticket for that day (I had a ticket for Chise Harada's concert, but it was not eligible for the dessert service, which was a bit disappointing).

My junior colleague at work returned from training, so we celebrated by going to Sushisei at Hibiya Shante. We went around 12 pm on a weekday, and the place was crowded, including the restaurant. We had to wait for about 20 minutes after writing our names. Just before being called, we were asked for our order. There were about 6 lunch menu options, and we ordered a lunch set. Within 3 minutes of being seated, the sushi was served. It included tuna, shrimp, squid, rolls, and egg, totaling 8 pieces. The lunch set also came with miso soup. The sushi, except for the rolls, was freshly made with slightly warm rice and generous fish toppings. It was a satisfying sushi lunch with various fresh fish options, although it might not be filling enough for men considering the quantity and price.

I ended up having lunch at Sushi Sei in Hibiya Shante. I looked around all the restaurants, but none of them really caught my interest (except for the bakery and fruit shop at the entrance). I found Sushi Sei tucked away in the back, and decided to go in. It's a traditional sushi restaurant, which gave me a sense of comfort. I sat at the counter with the manager right in front of me, and had a enjoyable and delicious meal. The manager was very attentive and skilled. Whenever I eat at Hibiya Shante, I will definitely visit this place.

I had a reason to go to Bic Camera, so I decided to have lunch nearby. It had been a while since I visited Shante, and I was surprised by how fulfilling it was. Especially, the richness and emptiness of the restaurant area on the second basement floor were surprising. It seems quite useful. Now, this is Sushisei, so I feel relieved. I skipped the lunch menu and started with sashimi of white fish and shellfish. It was decent. Next, I had them make nigiri sushi to my liking. Sushi restaurant located underground in Hibiya Shante. During the state of emergency, we were able to enter just before the last order. After watching a Takarazuka performance, other shops in Shante were already preparing to close, but this one was still open, which was very appreciated. We were seated at the counter seats. Some of the ingredients were being put away on the shelf in front of us, but the sushi served was like Edomae sushi, with soy sauce brushed on top before serving. The tuna and horse mackerel were delicious. What made us happy was the availability of beer! It seems like there are still few places that offer beer, so it was very much appreciated. We had a nice chat with the staff as well. It seems that many people come in at this time after watching a performance. This is one of the few shops in Shante that stays open until the very end. Thanks to them being open, we were able to extend our time in the world of Takarazuka. Thank you very much. After the pandemic, we had the opportunity to visit again. This time, after watching a movie and arriving a bit late, we were able to enjoy some drinks and chat in a not too crowded environment, which was much appreciated. I was so happy to have a beer! The volume was good and the dishes were fresh. It's quite a good deal. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with a thorough German theme, and it really feels like a solid establishment. The clientele consists of older people and families, probably because it's a sushi restaurant where the chef prepares the sushi right in front of you at the counter.

Since the new Hibiya Shante opened, this was maybe my third time visiting, and it was the best one yet! I'm not sure if it was a limited-time offering or if it's always available, but the "seasonal sushi" was delicious. The seaweed-wrapped roll maybe had rapeseed flowers in it? And the firefly squid was a seasonal treat that made me happy. My companion seemed to be enjoying a tuna feast. The sushi was fresh, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The restaurant had COVID-19 precautions in place, and it seemed like they were spacing out customers, as we didn't hear any other conversations at the table. We might have waited about 7-8 minutes, and there were a few people in line. It was a little after 3 o'clock when we went.

I stopped by because I wanted to have a quick dinner alone. I ordered a special nigiri set. It came with chawanmushi, nigiri sushi, miso soup, dessert, and oolong tea for around 2600 yen. The nigiri had a very common taste, but the toppings were delicious.

Tsukiji Sushi Sei Hibiya Chante is a sushi restaurant located in the basement of Hibiya Chante. I had some time before watching a movie at TOHO Cinemas in front of the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater, so I decided to have lunch. Since I didn't have much time, I chose a nearby restaurant without a long line. Tsukiji Sushi Sei Hibiya Chante was not crowded, perhaps because it is located towards the back or because there are several branches around. I ordered the lunch special, which was a marinated chirashi bowl. It came with salad, miso soup, a water manju (steamed bun), and a raw egg yolk. The seafood bowl had salmon roe, tuna, shrimp, and other seafood on top. I cracked the raw egg yolk over it, which was a unique touch. The egg roll had a sweet tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) flavor. The restaurant had a chic and stylish atmosphere, typical of Chante establishments.

The staff was polite and provided service without fake smiles, which was straightforward and easy to understand. It might be a good option if you prefer a more subdued dining experience.
