On Wednesday, after attending Nogizaka-chan's live performance, I headed to a certain bar as usual (lol). It was already past 2 am, and since I had eaten dinner early, I was feeling hungry as I wandered around Roppongi. I was lured by the smell of grilled meat wafting outside and ended up being drawn into "Jojoen Roppongi Honten" (the main store of Jojoen), which is known for its high-quality yakiniku. I had visited this place a few times in the past, back when I was a newbie AD, but I didn't realize it was the main store of Jojoen. The building used to be smaller and closer to Nogizaka, but it seems they have moved. When I visited around 2:20 am, there weren't many customers even though it was Roppongi (lol). Since I had already had plenty of all-you-can-drink beer at the bar, I decided to cleanse my palate with a lemon sour. Now, what should I eat? I started with the Korean seaweed, which is grilled seaweed here. I also ordered the Upper Negi Tan Shio, Upper Kalbi, Upper Mino, and Tsubo-zuke Harami Yaki. The Upper Negi Tan Shio arrived first, and I was a bit unsure how to grill it with the green onions on top. So, I asked the staff, and they taught me to fold it in half and steam the inside while grilling the outside. It was delicious! Next was the Upper Mino, which had a chewy texture. I flipped it multiple times to ensure it wasn't burnt. Then came the Upper Kalbi, which would be considered top-quality at other restaurants. I ordered rice and egg soup to prepare for the feast. Lastly, I had the Tsubo-zuke Harami Yaki, which was marinated in a pot with vegetables and apples. It was delicious, especially the marinated sauce. I finished with dessert ice cream. Despite only ordering four types of meat, the bill came to around 18,000 yen, but that's expected for a high-end yakiniku restaurant. The quality of the meat was top-notch. It was a long time since I last visited Jojoen. Thank you for the meal!
