This is a wonderful restaurant that has delicious (both the ingredients and seasoning), a great atmosphere (with both counter and table seating options), and offers good quality food at a reasonable price. If I were to nitpick, the sushi rice could be a bit firmer for my personal preference.

I went to Sushi Tatsumi on the hill of Shirayama to eat sushi. The restaurant is located close to Hon-Komagome and Shirayama stations. It was recently renovated and the interior is very clean. I had the omakase course (5500 yen) on this day. The edamame tofu with a beautiful green color has a rich flavor of edamame. The sweet and refreshing acidity of the ground cherry made me smile unintentionally. The assorted sashimi was delightful, all fresh and very delicious. The simmered marbled flounder was tender and flavorful, with a hint of spiciness from the chili pepper. The yuba with yuzu flavor was delicious when mixed with sesame sauce. The simmered Kyoto eggplant soaked in a refined broth was soft and the crunchy texture of plenty of green onions was an accent. The sushi at the end was also delicious. The clam miso soup and warabi mochi were also enjoyable. In addition to sushi, I was able to enjoy elegant dishes using Kyoto ingredients such as yuba, Kyoto eggplant, and chili pepper. The restaurant has been in business for 50 years, focusing on carefully selected natural ingredients to bring out their best flavors. The place was bustling with locals and seemed to be loved by the community. Check out my blog for more details.

The restaurant, run by a friendly couple, had fresh and delicious sushi with a hint of sweetness. The side dishes like oysters and miso-grilled dishes were also tasty. Overall, I was satisfied with the experience. However, it would be even better if they had daily recommendations or special dishes to make the visit more exciting.

Located a little ways from Shirayama intersection, I was drawn in by the calm atmosphere of this place and decided to drop in for lunch. It seems to be run by the husband and wife at the counter. I had a 1000 yen sushi set. It's not a high price, but you can still tell if it suits your taste or not. The shari and the sushi-making skills were good. Overall, it felt like a hidden gem of a sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. Since there are not many sushi restaurants around here, I would recommend giving it a try.
