I visited McDonald's on Meiji Street in Oku after 4 pm on a day in April 2021. The restaurant is a two-story building located about a 3-4 minute walk from Oku Station. I ordered a Teriyaki Mcburger set for ¥640 and added a Cheeseburger for ¥140 on the first floor. I requested a set with fries and iced coffee. After waiting for about 3 minutes, I received my food and went to the second floor to eat. The floor was surprisingly crowded. I sat alone at a counter seat to enjoy my meal. The Cheeseburger had the usual soft buns and a gentle taste that I enjoyed. I wished I could taste more of the pickles, but it was definitely worth more than ¥140. I tried the Teriyaki Mcburger after a long time. The combination of mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce, and a good amount of lettuce was nice. The sesame buns also had a nice aroma. It tasted delicious when eaten occasionally. I enjoyed the slightly moist fries and iced coffee as well. Adding the Cheeseburger to the simple hamburger set increased my satisfaction. I enjoyed my meal while reminiscing about the consistent deliciousness of McDonald's.

McDonald's is McDonald's. It is highly rated as a business due to its high level of completion. When you visit a store located slightly outside of Tokyo, you can truly understand its strength. In this day and age, there is no other business model that can utilize so many part-time workers at its peak. And they manage to attract customers and keep them satisfied. This season has seen record high sales, showing the strength of being able to expand through takeout even during the stay-at-home period.

Along Meiji Street, near Oku Station, there is a two-story McDonald's. The seating is not very extensive, but they do have a drive-thru. I ordered a chocolate-flavored McShake for 100 yen. I thought they only had the classic flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate, but then I saw on another menu that they had a limited-time Mount Rainier Cafe Latte flavor. I wish I had ordered that instead, but the chocolate flavor was still reliably delicious.

There were few outlets available and they were all taken. I ended up drinking melon soda and left soon after.

Waffle cone Tokyo banana 230 yen. It's just a regular banana sauce. It's a shame that it's only on the surface.

It's spacious and relaxing. I used a SmarNews coupon to get a coffee.

Following the end-of-year meal at Eguchi, I visited Tabuchi this time. I ordered the Chi Chi Double Potato Drink in a large set size, and it did not disappoint. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I stopped by for lunch to pass the time before my appointment! I was quite hungry, so I ordered a Big Mac set and a Teriyaki Burger. McDonald's never disappoints with its delicious taste! I love the teriyaki sauce and Big Mac sauce so much! The seating area is only on the second floor, and the spacious interior has a clean feel to it. It was crowded with families with children and elderly people during lunchtime. It was comfortable and cozy. Thank you for the meal!

McDonald's Meiji-dori Ogiku store. McDonald's Griddle, Sausage, Chicken Crisp, Hashed Potato, Iced Coffee, Sencha Healthy Tea, all for 550 yen. This store is located 5 minutes from Ogiku Station on Meiji Street. Today, I am going mountain climbing in Chichibu. Before that, I want to use the drive-thru for a quick meal. Surprisingly efficient! The food comes out smoothly. They definitely meet the quality standards of a chain store. Thank you for the meal.

On February 27th, I decided to visit McDonald's after the recent food contamination issue. I went to the "Meiji-dori Oku Store" near JR Oku Station. The store had a decent amount of customers and was operating energetically. I ordered takeout. I got the "Ebi Filet-O" (669 yen) which came as a set with a hamburger, cola, and fries. The Ebi Filet-O is made with peeled shrimp. It had a crispy bun with lettuce and tomato-based sauce. It was delicious with a satisfying taste. Keep up the good work, McDonald's!

I was working late into the night and looking for a restaurant in the vicinity of Oku that could serve as both dinner and late-night meal. However, the only Chinese restaurant that was open seemed to be charging a late-night surcharge, with prices close to a thousand yen for noodles, making it seem like a rip-off. So, I decided to walk along Meiji Street and found a McDonald's right near Oku Station. Since there didn't seem to be any other dining options around, I went in there. The restaurant is open 24 hours, but apparently, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM, only the first-floor seating and drive-thru are open. McDonald's seems to have added various new items to their menu recently, but for my generation, the Big Mac is still a classic choice, so I ordered the Big Mac set for 650 yen. As expected from a fast-food restaurant, my order was quickly prepared. The first floor had limited seating, and it seemed to be non-smoking only. As a smoker, I asked if there was a smoking section, and I was directed to the second floor. According to McDonald's website, "from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM, only the first-floor seating and drive-thru are open," but it seemed to be more of a formality. When I went up to the second floor, I thought it would be empty since it was past 2:00 AM on a weekday, but to my surprise, there was a single male customer in his 20s and a couple in their 20s. The male customer was engrossed in a game on his laptop, while the couple seemed a bit tipsy and were having a lively conversation. Since there weren't many options for late-night dining around here, they seemed to be using McDonald's as a substitute for a net cafe or family restaurant. Setting that aside, I was hungry and decided to eat. ◆ Big Mac set 650 yen *Details below ◇ Big Mac The exterior is about 8-9 cm in height and about 11 cm in diameter. Sesame seeds are sprinkled on the top bun, and between the three buns, there are 2 patties, sliced cheese, lettuce, chopped onions, pickles, etc. The flavor is enhanced by Big Mac sauce (a sauce similar to Thousand Island dressing with onions and mustard), which is lighter than regular ketchup and complements the buns and fillings. It's not exceptionally delicious, but it has a good portion size and is a hamburger with a classic taste that you might crave occasionally. Rating ★★★☆ ◇ Medium French Fries The thinly cut potatoes sprinkled with salt have a good oil drain, giving them a true fried potato feel. The portion size is quite generous for a medium, providing a satisfying crunch. Rating ★★★☆ ◇ Premium Roast Iced Coffee M Compared to hot coffee, you can taste some roughness, but it has improved significantly compared to before. The past refers to over two years ago, when the iced coffee was just so bad that you had to add a lot of syrup and milk to be able to drink it. However, the current iced coffee, while tough to drink black, only requires a small amount of milk and syrup to be enjoyable. Rating ★★★

In the end, being easily influenced by trends as a Japanese person, I saw everyone on Instagram and Twitter eating the Tsukimi Burger so I ended up getting takeout as well. It was actually my first time trying the Tsukimi Burger. When I finally ate it, it was just like a regular McDonald's burger! (laughs) Maybe everyone was buying it because it's a limited-time seasonal item? I still prefer the Teriyaki Burger at McDonald's! (laughs)
