I tried the collaboration dish at the legendary Sutadon restaurant in Nishi-Nippori, the "Gokugyo Kai Tonkotsu Thick-cut Sutadon" by Mita Seimenjo. I opted for extra rice for free. The pork belly was quite delicious. However, the sauce seemed a bit bland. The fish powder was quite prominent. Adding some chili bean paste from the condiment on the table made it taste better. Surprisingly, the bamboo shoots were not bad.

I visited a restaurant called "Legendary Sutadon-ya Nishi-Nippori" on a weekday afternoon in July 2023, just after 3 pm. It is located a minute's walk from Nishi-Nippori Station. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with about 5 customers already seated. I chose the "Sutamina Curry" for ¥850 from the ticket machine. After a 5-minute wait, my curry was ready, and I was called by number to pick it up and sit at the counter. The curry rice, topped with Sutamina Yaki and Fukujinzuke, was served in a large, round bowl, accompanied by miso soup. The curry rice had a perfect balance of richness and spice, making it easy to enjoy with tender pork and leeks in a garlic sauce. The spicy kick of the curry paired well with the indulgent taste of the Sutamina Yaki, and the sweet red Fukujinzuke added a nice touch. Although the miso soup was a bit lacking in flavor, it was a welcome addition. I added some garlic and chili paste to the Sutamina Yaki to enhance the flavors and enjoyed the curry rice until the last bite. Overall, the Sutamina Curry was filling and satisfying, perfect for when you crave a hearty and slightly salty meal. Despite the lack of hospitality, the systematic service and convenient location near the station made it a good choice for a quick meal.

Takoyaki Stand - This was my first time trying it because it was always sold out whenever I visited. It's spicy with onions and comes with a raw egg! It's not all meat, so it's quite filling but somewhat refreshing. Also, I forgot to take a picture but we also ordered the fried pork. The hot pork karaage with creamy wasabi sauce was delicious!

I often go to other branches, but this was my first time at the Nishi-Nippori branch. I arrived around 6:30 PM on a Saturday, with about 3 customers already there. When I passed by around 8 PM, it was almost full, with about 90% of the seats taken. They use a ticket machine system, which is integrated with the cashier making it a bit complicated to use. There's only one machine, so if you're not familiar with it, you might feel pressured by the people waiting behind you. I also felt a bit confused. I wanted to order the fried chicken as well, but I couldn't find it and thought it might take too long, so I gave up. I ordered the ginger pork set with extra meat and added some garlic from the table. It was delicious! The cabbage with the meat sauce was also tasty!

After working overtime on Tuesday, I got hungry. Before getting on the commuter train, I stopped by "Legendary Sutadonya" in Nishi-Nippori for dinner. I went there for the newly released "Thickly Sliced Pork Teriyaki Sutadon." It was amazing with the sauce and mayo topping. Thank you for the meal!

I felt like eating my favorite chicken Karaage after a long time, so I went to the legendary "Sta-don-ya Nishinippori" in Arakawa Ward. When I entered the restaurant, I first bought a ticket for the "Sta-mina Karaage set - Super Onimori" (1,080 yen) at the ticket machine. Payment can be made not only in cash but also with credit cards, IC cards, QR codes, etc. I took a seat with my ticket and within a few minutes, my number was called and my order was ready. The chicken Karaage with garlic soy sauce flavor was served in a generous portion of 12 pieces. The oil wasn't drained well, but I was able to enjoy a hearty meal and was very satisfied.

I found out that my favorite garlic pork bowl restaurant has opened in Nishi-Nippori without me realizing it. I had to go visit right away. I ordered the Stamina Set with extra rice and added chicken karaage. I wanted to eat some fresh vegetables, so I chose the set meal instead of the bowl. The free extra rice option was great, but there was also an option to pay extra for a larger portion, which was a bit confusing. The dish smelled and tasted strongly of garlic, which really stimulated my appetite. The garlic flavor was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating the white rice. Adding grated garlic from the table made it even more heavenly. The chicken karaage was pretty standard, but it was a nice addition to the meal. The next day when I have a day off from work, I'll definitely have to go back, or else I'll be in trouble. The garlic pork bowl with grated yam added was a great choice. The portion of rice in the bowl was definitely larger than in the set meal. Eating it with grated yam made it so easy to eat, almost like a drink. With the raw egg that comes with the bowl, mixing it with the grated yam provided a nice change in flavor. I tried the Salt Pork Bowl with garlic chicken karaage added for the first time, and it was different from the usual. The meat didn't have much garlic flavor, so adding extra garlic from the table made it taste even better. The salt pork bowl came with grated yam, making it easy to eat. The garlic chicken karaage I added had a thick sauce with a strong garlic taste, but I personally prefer the regular version. I always forget to register on the app after buying my meal ticket, but I plan to do it next time.

Favorite fast food chain, even adults can confidently say they like what they like. I didn't know there was a "Sutadon" in Nishi-Nippori, which is within walking distance if you try hard enough. It's located conveniently close to the station, right next to Yoshinoya. It's a battle of the bowls. Arrived on a weekday at 6:50 PM, with about 80% of the seating occupied, no wait to get in. The interior has a good depth and can accommodate about 20 people. Today's order was the "Sutadon" for 680 yen. In my opinion, the regular size of "Sutadon" is like the large size at major beef bowl chains. It also comes with miso soup and a raw egg, so it's cost-effective. The pork coated in a sauce with garlic and sesame oil, along with green onions. It's impossible for this not to go well with rice. The fact that you can enjoy the junky flavor without worrying about the details is nice. It's rare for a bowl chain to have freshly grated garlic on the table, like a ramen shop. Boosting with garlic from about halfway through and adding a raw egg to increase the intensity of the flavor, making it even more junky, I finished it. "Sutadon" is still great. Thank you for the meal.

The scorching days continued, and I started craving for stamina-boosting food. After some contemplation, I decided to visit the "Legendary Stamina Bowl Shop" that opened near JR Nishi-Nippori Station in June. Upon entering the shop, I purchased a meal ticket at the vending machine, but with so many menu options, I was indecisive. After about a minute of consideration, I chose the Mixed Fried Chicken Stamina Bowl (930 yen). Once I made the purchase, the order was automatically sent to the kitchen, and I waited at my seat. After about 5 minutes, my number was called, and I picked up my dish. The bowl contained stamina meat, 3 pieces of fried chicken, cabbage, and mayonnaise. A raw egg was served on a separate plate. The miso soup had seaweed and green onions as toppings. The bowl was packed with food, so I carefully ate without causing it to collapse. Both the stamina meat and fried chicken were flavored with a garlic-based original sauce. The taste was strong, so I used the raw egg to mellow it down. As I mixed the ingredients in the bowl, the mayonnaise added a rich flavor to the dish. It had been a while since I had eaten such a large portion of rice. I managed to finish it, but I was definitely full. This shop would be handy when you want to eat heartily... Yummy!

Mini Stamina Pork Karaage Set Meal for 780 yen in front of Nishi-Nippori Station. "Sutadon" has opened in the location where "Hattendo Shokudo" used to be. I visited about a week after the opening. The interior was calm with only one customer on a weekday after 2 pm. I purchased a meal ticket at the intelligent ticket vending machine that accepts various cashless payments. It's a self-service style where you go to pick up your order when your number is called. I decided to try the "Pork Karaage Set Meal" that was advertised on the poster outside, opting for the "mini" size with 4 pieces. The cute staff called my number, and I went to pick up my order. Well, the "mini" size didn't have a overwhelming amount, which is expected, but the name "Oni Mori" (demon portion) is a bit misleading (^_^;) Also, it claims to have 4 pieces, but since it's 1/2 size pork cutlet and there are 4 pieces, it's essentially 2 pieces worth. Well, they didn't lie about the 4 pieces (laughs). The karaage had a well-seasoned taste and a crispy texture. It's enjoyable on its own, but it also comes with a rich stamina sauce, which paired really well with the rice. The mini size was just right for me (^^) I finished my meal and left the restaurant feeling satisfied for the price. Some Sutadon locations have a break time, so it's convenient that they are open all day. I might visit again in the future.

I visited the restaurant on the 7th day since it opened. The staff were polite and greeted me well, creating a nice atmosphere. They had both table seating and counter seating. I was able to enjoy a 30% increase in meat as a special opening offer. The portion size was decent as shown in the photo, and I left feeling quite full. I heard they offer other promotions on the 29th and such, so I would like to visit again.

Legendary Suta-don has opened a new location in Nishi-Nippori?! Today marks the start of business ahead of the grand opening!
