Dinner on November 13, 2022 (Sunday) with my partner. We had work in Agematsu in the afternoon and had dinner in Tachikawa. We found this restaurant by walking a little from the south exit. We ordered a draft beer, Agu Wiener (1000 yen), homemade vinegar seaweed salad (600 yen), purple sweet potato croquette (600 yen), and today's champloo with bitter melon (800 yen). The food was okay overall. The vinegar seaweed salad was quite tasty, the purple sweet potato croquette was decent, the Agu Wiener was okay, and the champloo with bitter melon was made with SPAM but was okay. Lastly, we ordered Soki soba (950 yen) and it was also okay. It's not about each dish being outstanding, but rather about the fact that this restaurant has loyal customers who keep coming back, and that's what matters. The restaurant seems to have moved from Mizuho Town and is about to celebrate its first anniversary. As the smell of heated cigarettes started bothering us from the neighboring table, we decided to leave. I had another lemon sour before paying the bill, which came to 6150 yen.

Yesterday, I had lunch alone at a newly opened Okinawan restaurant near Tachikawa Minami Station. The restaurant used to be an izakaya before, I think. It's spacious inside with counter seats, table seats, and even private rooms, making it suitable for parties. Although I visited alone, they said it was okay to sit at a table. I ordered the recommended limited edition dish, the "Okinawa Prefecture-produced Wagyu Beef Curry," limited to only 5 servings. I'm a sucker for limited edition items, so I couldn't resist. While waiting, I looked around the restaurant and saw they also serve awamori. The tropical atmosphere inside was nice, with Okinawan music playing. After about 5 minutes of waiting, a salad was served, which was nicely portioned. About 15 minutes later, the curry arrived, carried by a cheerful staff member. They advised me to use Dragon Pepper since the curry wasn't spicy. Indeed, the curry was not spicy, but it was flavorful with plenty of beef chunks. I imagined a steak curry with a big cut of steak on top, but this was still satisfying. Next came the soup and Fukujinzuke, with the soup being delicious and generously portioned. The curry, when spiced up with Dragon Pepper, had a nice kick to it. The limited edition Okinawa Prefecture-produced Wagyu Beef Curry costs 1500 yen. Thank you for the meal. #TachikawaLunch #IzakayaLunch #OkinawanCuisine #LimitedMenuAvailable

The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Tachikawa Station South Exit. It is said to be a restaurant that moved from Mizuho, where it was known as Nori-chan, to Tachikawa. Inside, there is a counter and tables, creating a nice atmosphere. - Agu Wiener: Juicy and delicious, the fat spreads in your mouth when you bite into it. - Agu Menchi Katsu: Absolutely delicious. It came with 2 pieces, and the meat juice overflows from the menchi katsu, giving you a strong taste of meat. - Taco Harumaki: A unique dish where the ingredients of tacos are wrapped in spring rolls. The outside is crispy, while the inside is soft and goes well together. - Umibudo: A must-have dish in Okinawan cuisine, and it was excellent with a focus on freshness. - Umukui Yaki: A dish made of red sweet potatoes that my wife loves. The inside is chewy and delicious. - Somin Chanpuru: The noodles were not sticky and very good. Although it was already very delicious, I personally wished the onions were cooked a little more. - Okinawa Soba: It is Soki soba, with a gentle and delicious broth that was perfect for finishing the meal. The curly noodles were excellent with the broth. - Kuriimo Dango: A unique dish made of red sweet potatoes turned into sesame dumplings. They served it piping hot, so the outside was crispy while the inside was fluffy. The combination of sesame and red sweet potatoes was perfect. I would definitely like to visit again. If you have the chance, please give it a try!

I have been to Nori-chan for lunch before, and the Okinawan home cooking was still delicious. I thought Nori-chan in Mizuho-cho had closed, but it turns out they changed their name and are now operating in the bustling area near the south exit of Tachikawa City.
