Fukuoka Prefecture, Akasaka, a Pakistani cuisine restaurant that is well-known. The owner, originally from Karachi, Pakistan, offers Halal food in accordance with Islamic dietary laws. During weekday lunchtime, being the first customer when the restaurant opens is a great tip! The regular menu prices range from 990 yen, but I came specifically to try Curry Ojisan's recommended Mutton Curry.
- Mutton Special ¥2,200: Set includes naan or rice, curry, salad, and a soft drink. The mutton used in this curry is different from the usual, with plenty of meat around thick bones, and the marrow-infused broth is incredibly delicious! While it may not appeal to everyone due to its unique taste, it is truly a curry for mutton lovers. The meat is so tender that it easily falls off the bone, and I even enjoyed the marrow by hand. It pairs well with the fluffy Basmati rice and the light curry. Finally, I had hot chai, which you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. The tea itself was also very flavorful. It was a satisfying meal with generous portions! This unique mutton curry, made with hearty portions of mutton, was truly exceptional.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while and finally got to go. Someone commented that it has the best Biryani in Fukuoka, so I was really intrigued. The Biryani was indeed delicious. I don't know the name, but they served a yogurt-like sauce on top of the Biryani, which was authentic. The Biryani itself had bone-in chicken pieces and was very tasty. Next time, I want to try the bone-in mutton curry, even though it's a bit pricey!

I arrived a little after 11:30. There was only one group ahead of me, so I was able to get in smoothly. I came to the restaurant with the purpose of trying their biryani, and of course, I ordered it. It came out in about 5 minutes. The biryani, along with a drink, cost 1,500 yen. The portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it. The taste was excellent. I tried it first without the sauce, and the depth of flavor was beyond my imagination. Just one bite and I thought, "Wow, this is delicious!" The yogurt sauce paired perfectly with it, and I wished there was a bit more sauce. The meat was more on the firm side rather than tender. I'm sure my body will crave this biryani again, so I will definitely come back when that time comes. Repeat visit confirmed. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I went to visit Zaeka-san in Fukuoka, which was listed as a famous restaurant. When I opened the entrance after climbing the stairs, I was told to sit at a table where there was an employee or someone similar sitting. I ordered the recommended Biryani, and although the service from the employee felt a bit pushy, the Biryani was tasty enough for my first time trying it. However, the atmosphere was too tense for me to engage in conversation, so I left soon after. Maybe it's different on other days? I will visit again.

I visited this place for the first time after being dumped by someone else. It is said to be one of the top 100 curry restaurants. What should I eat for the first time here? I decided to try the "Biryani" for ¥1500, which I saw in the reviews. I don't go here often, so this is my impression of a menu item I've never seen before. I don't know what Biryani is. In terms of whether it was delicious or not (I can't compare it to anything else), it was delicious. Would I want to eat it again? Not particularly. I might order something else if I come back. The rice is a type of super long-grain rice that is fluffy and flavored with spices. The taste is different from Japanese food but not too unusual, it's an overseas flavor that is easy to accept. Inside, there was a chicken leg. It was served with a mild yogurt sauce. I was told that it was okay to pour it on or drink it as it is. I tried pouring a little on and eating it, but it was just a "matched taste," so after trying it, I ate it without pouring the sauce. I have no particular attachment to the restaurant or Biryani, so my comment ended up like this.

Located in Maizuru, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Zaeka" is a restaurant that serves authentic Pakistani cuisine. It has a unique atmosphere different from that of Tenjin or Daimyo. The restaurant was selected as one of the top 100 curry restaurants twice and was also chosen as one of the top 100 Asian and ethnic restaurants in 2022. The lunch menu offers three options: Biryani, Mutton Curry, and A to C sets. The curries available include chicken, seafood, sag chicken, and beans, with the option to adjust the spiciness level. You can also opt for extras like cheese naan or a larger portion for an additional charge. I ordered the Biryani set for 1500 yen, which came with Biryani, raita, and a drink. Biryani is a Pakistani dish consisting of flavored rice with bone-in chicken. The basmati rice has a unique texture between noodles and regular rice, with a strong spice flavor typical of Southeast Asian cuisine. The raita, a cold yogurt-based sauce, adds a refreshing touch when poured over the warm Biryani. For the drink, I chose chai, which was a mildly spiced and light tea. The owner mentioned that although the sign says "Indian-Pakistani cuisine," the restaurant currently only serves Pakistani dishes, as the Indian chef has left. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

I had never tried biryani before, so I tried it for the first time. It was an interesting taste that I had never experienced before. I also had chicken curry as an option, and it was really delicious when paired together. Next time I go, I think I'll go for a curry main dish.

I tried biryani with curry for the first time, and I felt like it was similar to short, slightly firm somen noodles with a strong spice flavor. The spices were not overpowering, but more like a body blow that spread in my mouth. Adding raita was good, but combining it with curry definitely enhanced the taste. The portion size was quite generous, so it could be shared between two people. Also, I found that chai was easier to drink when cold, especially with spicy dishes.

The restaurant opened at 11:30, and at first there were only two groups of people. But within 15 minutes, more and more customers arrived, and the restaurant quickly became full. It's no wonder it's a popular spot. I ordered the biryani, and even though the plate looked small, the portion was actually quite large due to the thick serving. The flavor was just right, not too spicy or too bland, with a perfect balance of seasoning and spices. I finished it all in no time. Just be careful when eating, as there are solid pieces like bay leaves and star anise mixed in. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I wanted to eat spicy curry, so I headed to Maizuru, where I don't usually go. I visited ZaeKa for the first time, which had high ratings. I ordered the B lunch Chicken Curry Hot. The sweet naan and perfectly spicy chicken curry were exquisite. The tandoori chicken was also good. I was intrigued by the biryani displayed on the wall, so I want to visit again.

I felt like eating biryani and visited this restaurant for the first time. I arrived around 11:30, right at opening time. There was no line and I was seated quickly. I ordered the biryani and chicken curry set. The set also came with lassi. It had been a few years since I last had biryani, but it was delicious with the concentrated flavors of the spices. When eaten with the curry or yogurt sauce, the taste changed and I was able to enjoy it until the last bite without getting tired of it.

I went to eat Pakistani biryani, 365m from Akasaka Station, a 6-minute walk from Akasaka Station and a 7-minute walk from Tenjin Station. It was my first time trying it and I found it to be delicious, but not to the point where I would want to go back immediately. I didn't feel addicted to it. Personally, I am more drawn to curry than biryani. When I tried my companion's curry, I found the spices to be very strong and it made me want to eat more. Recently, I have been into Sri Lankan curry, but I also enjoy the punchy spiced curry.

Mixed opinions... I arrived 15 minutes before lunchtime to avoid the crowd. Surprisingly, the restaurant was empty. I decided to try the Biryani with curry (for an extra 250 yen) as I had never tried it before. Biryani is a Pakistani dish with chicken on top and a soup-like sauce. I also tried the optional curry on top. The lassi that came with it was quite good. Overall, the curry was decent, but personally, I did not find it to be as amazing as the reviews on the wall claimed. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not suit my taste.

Lunch set A for 1050 yen. I chose the seafood option. Usually, I feel full after eating only half of the naan because it's not very tasty, but here the naan was delicious so I was able to finish it all easily. Of course, the curry was also delicious. I'm happy to have added another lunch option to my list. Thank you for the meal! 😊

I visited around 2 pm, well past noon. I ordered the rumored Biryani. It was said to be quite a large portion, but for me, it was just the right amount. The complex flavors of spices spread throughout my mouth. Quite delicious. I added a bit of the sauce that came with it for a change in taste. The combination of acidity and aromatic vegetables made it even more delicious. I'll stick with this from now on. The bone-in chicken was also tasty, but it was a bit difficult to eat with the rice, so I made some space before attacking it. I finished eating without stopping. I'm satisfied.

We visited the restaurant "India-Pakistan Cuisine Zaeka" located facing the historic Tangsu Street during a late lunch on a weekday with two people. My companion chose the "A Lunch (Naan or Rice, Curry, Salad, Drink)" (1,050 yen) with Naan, Spinach Chicken Curry, and Chai (hot tea). They mentioned that the Naan was very delicious. I opted for the "Authentic Pakistani Biryani (Chicken Biryani, Raita, Drink)" (1,500 yen) with Lassi as my drink. Biryani is a dish where flavored rice is cooked with various spices, yogurt, and meat, then steamed slowly to infuse the flavors. The Chicken Biryani I had was served with two pieces of chicken marinated in spices and topped with a boiled egg. The Basmati rice used was fragrant and had a light, fluffy texture with a distinct flavor. The dish was well-balanced with the flavorful curry at the bottom and the aromatic white rice on top. The rice was not sticky and had a pleasant mouthfeel. The seasoning was well-done with a hint of citrus adding a refreshing touch. The Raita, a yogurt-based side dish, enhanced the overall flavor when added to the Biryani. This experience reminded me of my brief visit to Karachi, Pakistan, where I had a similar dish and enjoyed the diverse flavors of Pakistani cuisine.

Today I was in the mood for curry. I was really hungry and craving katsu curry, so I was looking for a place that serves it. I found this Indian curry restaurant that actually had katsu curry on their menu! I was a bit skeptical because I didn't see any reviews of their katsu curry on Tabelog, but I decided to give it a try. I had known about this place before, but I wasn't interested in their famous "Biryani" dish which is over 1,000 yen. As I entered the restaurant, I noticed that the atmosphere was a bit gloomy with dim lighting and a lack of energy. The waitress wasn't very friendly when I asked about the katsu curry, and she informed me that they only serve their lunch menu. I ended up ordering the cheapest option, the "A lunch set" for 1,050 yen. I chose the seafood curry with naan instead of rice, and selected a hot level 3 spiciness with a lassi drink. The curry had a strong salty taste, probably because the seafood mix flavor dominated the curry. I should have gone with chicken instead. Overall, it was a disappointing experience for me today.

I had lunch at ZAEKA in Akasaka, Fukuoka, a Pakistani restaurant. It is one of the top 100 Asian and Ethnic restaurants. The owner, who is from Pakistan, serves delicious Halal cuisine. The Chicken Biryani was served generously on a plate. The Basmati rice is full of spices with complex flavors and quite spicy. When topped with additional chicken curry, it becomes even spicier but still delicious. Adding raita makes it milder. I enjoyed changing the flavors multiple times while eating. Unlike Japanese rice, it was light and fluffy, so I was able to finish it without feeling heavy.

It was my first time trying biryani! I was prepared for a large portion, but it was really voluminous ✨ However, I managed to finish it all. The curry that came with it was perfect for a change of taste. It wasn't the usual sweet chicken curry, but had a hint of anchovy or fish sauce, giving it a salty flavor. I will definitely visit again!!

First visit. Pakistani cuisine might be a first for me. Pakistan, isn't the capital Islamabad? That's about all I can think of. What's Biryani? If it tastes good, anything is fine. I ordered it because it looked delicious in the photo. The dish is different from the menu and not like curry-flavored noodles. What is it? It's not vermicelli either. But wow, it's overflowing from the plate. Such a large portion. So this is Biryani. The taste is quite good. A bit spicy. The chicken is also spicy. There are leaves in it. Maybe it's for those who can eat them. Pakistan is close to India, so are these Finger Fingers? The leaves are a nuisance for me, who eats with a spoon. What is this yogurt-like thing? Is it Raita? Oh, it's like a salad, not sweet yogurt. It helps to ease the spiciness. A new taste for me. For the drink, of course, Lassi. This resets the spiciness. Oh, I'm sorry. I rarely leave food, but today seems to be the limit. Was this place recommended for curry and naan? Top 100 restaurants? Hmm. Maybe it's just a matter of personal taste. Is Japanese food really delicious and suits my taste? Thank you for the meal.

After a long time in Fukuoka, I decided to try out a popular curry restaurant near Tenjin Station. I ordered the highly recommended Biryani for ¥1,500 and added a mini chicken curry for an extra ¥250. Surprisingly, they didn't have beer available. The portion of Biryani was huge, and although it tasted good, I couldn't finish it. The restaurant was packed with mostly young customers, and it seems like the Biryani is a popular choice for lunch. I recommend considering your age and stomach capacity before ordering it.
