[February 23, 2013] Since my friend had expressed his desire to go back and try the Level 10 spiciness, we decided to visit the restaurant again. As usual, it was crowded around 7 pm. We entered at 5 pm and were informed that last orders would be taken in 2 hours. The place was bustling with groups of women, couples, and even a group of men who seemed to be having a company gathering. The red Level 10 miso hot pot was both sweet and extremely spicy. It was a unique experience having to move the ingredients from the pot to our mouths with our hands. The famous three-item platter from the red pot was delicious, with the chicken skin having a bit of spiciness. The friendly female server at our table, who happened to be from Shizuoka, engaged us in pleasant conversation while preparing various dishes for us. However, she did forget our drinks and orders occasionally, which was a bit disappointing.
[December 9, 2012] I had been intrigued by this hot pot after seeing it on a TV show featuring SKE's spicy food club. So, while in Tokyo, I decided to visit the nearest restaurant. We arrived around 5 pm and were informed that there was a 2-hour time limit due to the increasing crowd. And indeed, by the time we left, there was a line extending to the entrance on the ground floor. The mostly female staff were friendly and welcoming. The clientele consisted mainly of couples and groups of women, with occasional mixed-gender parties. We ordered the Level 8 hot pot, which was quite spicy but delicious, especially with the miso flavor. The tofu and offal were tasty, but the spicy vegetables were really hot. The post-meal porridge was enjoyable, and the salad had a sesame oil flavor common in BBQ restaurants. The quantity of the side dishes was a bit lacking. The egg roll was decent, and the red KARA Makgeolli drink was refreshing but easy to finish quickly. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would consider coming back for a year-end or New Year's party, aiming to try the Level 10 hot pot next time.
