This summer is really hot, isn't it? This summer, my wife was busy with various things. I heard her say many times, "I don't want to use fire in the kitchen because it's hot." It's true that using fire for cooking in the kitchen raises the room temperature... then you have to lower the air conditioner temperature, run the circulator, and the electricity bill goes up. Both my wife cooking in the heat and me waiting got frustrated, and on top of that, the Giants were losing, which made me even more irritated. It led to arguments. So, this summer, we met up at Tachikawa Station a few times and used Hidakaya at the north or south exit quite a bit. I tend to look for lunch ideas on Tabelog, and since I eat a lot at lunchtime, I try to have a low-calorie dinner, so I can have a beer. Hidakaya has been really helpful, as they had a long-running beer festival this summer until August 31st, with Kirin Ichiban Shibori for 320 yen tax included. After working, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry, it's nice to have a place like Hidakaya where my tired wife can be forgiven. (Although, if you read the reviews, they might not actually forgive you!)

This is a review of Hidakaya in Tachikawa Kitaguchi. The location is between Isetan and McDonald's. There are seats up to the second floor. During the evening, it gets very crowded and ordering can be quite chaotic. Orders are placed using a tablet at each table, but the food took a while to come out. I ordered the fried chicken set. The food was average.

I had miso ramen for lunch by myself. It's not that it's incredibly delicious, but for some reason, I feel like eating it again. I go there occasionally. In this restaurant, they have touch panel ordering system where you can check the menu at your seat and place your order by yourself. Payment can be made with credit cards, electronic money, QR codes, and almost all types of payments, which is convenient.

Tokyo Tachikawa City Akebono-cho. Do you know Hidakaya, where you can enjoy high-quality Chinese cuisine and ramen at a low price? As of April 2023, they have over 400 stores mainly in the Kanto region. The nearest one is at Tachikawa Station on the Chuo Line, Ome Line, Nambu Line, and Tama Monorail. In Tachikawa, there are a total of four stores, with two near the north exit and two near the south exit. It's no wonder, being the central city of the Tama region, Tachikawa! Amazing, isn't it, Hidakaya? It's been about two months since my last visit to Hidakaya. Around 11:30 am on a weekday, the Tachikawa Kitaguchi store was constantly busy with customers. There were at least four staff members. The skillful customer service by the female staff was outstanding! Order at the counter and pay afterwards. Cashless payment is possible. Today's order: Stir-fried leek and liver set meal for 740 yen. It was served in about 7 minutes. As always, they are so quick! It's incredibly impressive! It was my first time trying leek and liver at Hidakaya. There was plenty of leek and a decent amount of liver. The rice was so delicious! Not only ramen, but the set meals at Hidakaya are also cheap and tasty. Don't underestimate chain restaurants. Grateful to "Flying Saitama" for giving birth to Hidakaya. It's like the Gyoza no Ohsho of recent times, with a lot of solo customers. There are touchpad devices like in a conveyor belt sushi restaurant at the counter, which explains why there are few staff. I ordered the Chinese rice bowl. The vegetables were finely chopped and the taste was decently put together. It doesn't feel unpleasant, but it has that chain restaurant taste. Overall, it's a good place for those looking for a cheap and quick meal.

On a day off, I watched Minions at a movie theater in Tachikawa and had a light lunch before dinner. It had been a while since I visited Hidakaya. I noticed that they now have touch panel menus. It was quite hot that day, so I decided to have a cold beer and chilled Chinese noodles. I had to use a stroller because my child didn't want to walk. This was probably my first time having chilled Chinese noodles at a restaurant, as I usually eat them at home. I ordered the Black Vinegar Soy Sauce Chilled Noodles (550 yen) and a Menchi Katsu (250 yen). The chilled noodles at Hidakaya were served separately. The toppings included wakame seaweed, which was different from what I usually have at home, where I use imitation crab instead. The noodles were similar to regular ramen noodles, without much chewiness. The dipping sauce was quite tangy. I realized that maybe chilled Chinese noodles are better enjoyed at home rather than dining out. It was a learning experience. Thank you for the meal.

Located in a bustling area near the north exit of Tachikawa Station, on the first and second floors of a mixed-use building, is Hidakaya Tachikawa Kitaguchi store. My wife had expressed interest in trying Hidakaya, so we decided to have lunch there on a Sunday afternoon. The first floor entrance mainly had seats for solo diners, while the second floor seemed to have more tables. We were seated on the second floor, where we noticed that on a Sunday afternoon, there were middle-aged ladies on our left and older gentlemen on our right enjoying their drinks. We ordered the La-Gyo-Cha set [store exclusive] for 580 yen (tax included) and the Gyoza set (tonkotsu ramen) [store exclusive] for 660 yen (tax included). The La-Gyo-Cha set included half a bowl of ramen, 3 pieces of gyoza, and half a portion of fried rice, providing a taste of Hidakaya's basic dishes. The tonkotsu ramen in the Gyoza set was surprisingly light, without any unpleasant smell or overpowering flavor, making it quite enjoyable. Overall, the portions were generous.

Sometimes it's nice to have a meal out! I had ramen at Hidakaya for the first time in a while. I don't have anything particular to say, but it really fills you up, which is helpful for salarymen! Even though they were busy, they took proper measures to prevent the spread of infection by spacing out the seating. It's impressive for a chain restaurant. They even had a kitchen on the second floor, which shows how busy the place is. Thank you for the meal!

This time, I would like to introduce "Hidakaya" located at the north exit of JR Tachikawa Station. I visited for a quick drink during lunchtime. The store is open from 10:30 to 4:00 the next morning, and is open every day of the year. When I visited, I entered at 11 o'clock and there were few customers, so I sat at a table in the back. I ordered Gyoza for 230 yen, Fried Sardines for 240 yen, Macaroni Salad for 200 yen, Seasoned Egg for 100 yen, Draft Beer for 290 yen, and Green Tea Highball for 290 yen. The Macaroni Salad and Seasoned Egg are quick menu items, so they are recommended for the beginning of your drink. The Fried Sardines were served freshly fried, with shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, and mustard on the side, along with a separate sauce. I was able to enjoy changing the seasoning and eating style. It was convenient for a quick drink, easy to use, and I was able to replenish alcohol at a reasonable price. The total came to 1,350 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant because I was working alone and wanted to have a quick meal. I ordered a draft beer (290 yen) and Chinese noodles (390 yen). I used a coupon I had from a different store to add a seasoned egg topping (50 yen) to the Chinese noodles. The meal was simple, light, and quite delicious considering the price. The only thing that bothered me was that the seasoned egg topping was cold, but I could overlook it because of the price.

In Tachikawa, it's a bit of a walk from the station but customers keep coming in. There are also many people who come for a casual drink. By the way, it was quite cool to see a young woman drinking alone with a glass of Hoppy and some snacks in hand. Now, I ordered the Omiya Dan Dan Noodles with Half Fried Rice Set. I dug in right away. Well, it's basically Nisshokuya, so it was delicious as expected. It wasn't too spicy. Just by adding "Omiya" to the Dan Dan Noodles, it sounded delicious!! I couldn't help but think, "Oh! Omiya Dan Dan Noodles are indeed different." Preconceptions or naming have a strong influence. Speaking of chain restaurants like this, they do put effort into their naming. While thinking about this, I finished my meal. I'll definitely come back again!! (^◇^;)

The staff were all foreigners. After much consideration, I ordered a Highball for 280 yen. The whiskey was diluted, making it easy to drink. Normally, one Highball would make me drunk, but this one was light. I ordered 6 gyoza for 230 yen. It arrived in 10 minutes. They were a bit small, but easy to eat. The filling inside the gyoza was a good balance of vegetables and meat, maybe 4:6 ratio. Eating them with vinegar and pepper was delicious. Unfortunately, the small dish for gyoza condiments was a bit dirty. Too bad. I left the restaurant after about 20 minutes. As usual, I received a coupon after paying. Thank you for the meal.

For lunch today, I had a vegetable-filled tanmen at Hidaka-ya near Tachikawa Isetan. Hidaka-ya's taste can vary greatly depending on the chef of the day, but today's chef did a great job and the tanmen was delicious.
