I had lunch at "Tonden Tachikawa Sakaemachi Store," located about 2 kilometers from the north exit of Tachikawa Station on Tachikawa Street. The company is based in Hokkaido and specializes in seafood Japanese-style family restaurants. On weekdays, they offer all-you-can-eat soba, which was a bit disappointing for me as a soba lover. The restaurant has table seats and tatami mats, and it is quite spacious with many elderly female customers. I couldn't find any power outlets at the tables, and the atmosphere felt a bit restless, so it may not be suitable for those looking for a quiet place to work indoors. However, all the dishes were delicious as usual. Thank you for the meal.

I remembered seeing a review of the all-you-can-eat soba at Tonkatsu restaurant, and it reminded me of Tonkatsu Day. Every month on the third Wednesday is Tonkatsu Day, where special menu items are offered for that day only. I decided to visit a nearby Tonkatsu restaurant. I arrived just after 12 pm. The interior of the restaurant was typical of a family restaurant. It was quite spacious, with seating for about 100 people. The customers seemed to mostly consist of older groups of 2 or 3 people. There were fewer young people or business-looking individuals. The special menu for Tonkatsu Day included 3 options. I chose the Tonkatsu set meal, which came with sushi, jumbo chawanmushi, mini eel and chirashi don, and seasonal soba. For the udon, I chose the cold option. The food was served in about 5 minutes. It seemed like they were well-prepared for the special day, as the service was very prompt. The Tonkatsu set meal included sushi, tempura, chawanmushi, and more. It was a variety of classic Japanese dishes lined up beautifully. The quality of the food was reliable, typical of a family restaurant. The tempura was not piping hot, but the batter was crispy. The chawanmushi was delicious, and I thought the jumbo chawanmushi was a nice touch. I initially thought the portion size was small, but I ended up feeling surprisingly full after finishing the meal. We were invited by the Hokkaido Fair flag and visited the "Washoku Restaurant Tonden Tachikawa Sakaecho Branch" with my partner for dinner around 7:30 pm by car. It's a family restaurant so parking was not a problem. "Tonden" is a Hokkaido-born restaurant with its headquarters also in Hokkaido. It is a familiar family restaurant in this area, although it is not nationwide and does not have branches in the west. There was no wait, the store was spacious, and there were raised seating areas and wide seats, which are good features of a family restaurant. We sat at a booth seat. The table across from us seemed to be a gathering of friends, and it seemed like a good place for drinking parties. Today, we ordered the "Hokkaido Specialty Shinko-yaki Washoku (1590 yen + tax)" and my partner ordered the "Thick-sliced Roast Pork Washoku made from Furano (1690 yen + tax)" and "Chawanmushi (320 yen + tax)". Hmm, maybe we had too high expectations because the "Shinko-yaki" (grilled chicken) looked okay but was not as tender as expected, more watery. The Furano pork was also shared with me, but it was somehow not quite there. The rice and miso soup with clams were surprisingly good. This is also an important factor. I haven't been to other branches, so I'm not sure if this is just the case with the Tachikawa Sakaecho branch, but maybe it would be better to go for the grand menu items instead. When it comes to Shinko-yaki, I have heard good things about "Ginneko" in Asahikawa, although I haven't been there yet. I have enjoyed their food through mail order, but the impression from this visit is not making me associate "Shinko-yaki" and "Furano pork" with something good. They need to step up their game a bit more...

I went with my eldest son a while ago to a chain restaurant that I had been curious about. We ordered the Hokkai seafood bowl and the grilled cod with Kyoto miso set. The seafood bowl had large horse mackerel and was surprisingly delicious. The grilled cod with Kyoto miso set came with tuna and negitoro, and my son said it was delicious. We also bought some salted fish guts as a souvenir on the way home. Thank you for the meal.

I revisited for the all-you-can-drink alcohol during dinner time. On weekdays, it's 90 minutes for 2 or more people at 1100 yen per person excluding tax. On weekends and holidays, it's 1480 yen excluding tax for 4 or more people, so the hurdle is a bit higher. It's nice that you can order extra cold beer! The cold draft beer is delicious. There is a non-smoking section, a raised tatami seating area, and a kids menu, so it's safe even for families with children. The food is a bit pricey but very tasty. It's a bit far from Tachikawa Station, but it's perfect for a quiet and leisurely drink.

During lunchtime, I happened to see Ton-den while driving on Tachikawa Street and decided to visit. It had been a few years since I last went to Ton-den. Lunchtime is until 3 pm on weekdays and Saturdays. It's a bit more expensive compared to regular family restaurants, but you can enjoy a leisurely lunch as the seating is spacious and not crowded. And can you believe it? They even offer all-you-can-drink alcohol as a standalone option. I will definitely visit during dinner time as well.

I went to IKEA in Tachikawa and Lalaport for lunch at "Tonden," a chain named after the Hokkaido Tondenhei, known for using Hokkaido ingredients. They have a tatami seating area, which was great for us with a baby. They kindly offered to heat up the baby's food we brought. The tatami seating would be even better if it was a sunken kotatsu. I recommend the sardine dishes, and I ordered the mori soba and sardine sushi. The soba was a bit soft, and the spicy broth was mild. The sardines were delicious and not fishy at all.

The branch manager and I visited the exhibition hall, and before arriving at the Tachikawa exhibition hall, it was time for lunch. Both of us were feeling a bit hungover from the night before, so we wanted something gentle on the stomach. It had been over ten years since I last visited a family restaurant like this one. The menu was a bit pricey for a family restaurant, and since it was Sunday, there was no lunch menu available. The branch manager ordered a set meal with grilled mackerel sashimi and rice, so I followed suit. (Later on, the branch manager also added some fried food to his order.) I was really feeling weak, but I managed to finish my meal, probably because it met a certain standard. The bill was listed without tax, but I believe it was around ¥1,004 including tax.

I went out for lunch ✧* I had a seafood bowl and a special set meal. Also had green tea soba, chawanmushi, miso soup with clams, and delicious tempura after a long time⸜(* ॑꒳ ॑* )⸝⋆* The dessert, Hokkaido soft serve ice cream, was also amazing ♬︎♡ I was happy to be able to try various flavors in small portions! It had been a while since I last went there. The menu had changed quite a bit. Everything was delicious, but the prices were a bit high. I might go again, but I'll make sure to carefully choose from the menu before ordering.
