I went to see the long-awaited movie "Crayon Shin-chan" on its opening day. I exchanged my accumulated TOHO Cinemas miles for a small popcorn (caramel flavor) and a medium Coke Zero. I chose caramel popcorn this time because I've been having salty snacks a lot lately. Caramel popcorn is so addictive! I heard that some theaters have special Crayon Shin-chan popcorn boxes, but I couldn't find them at TOHO Cinemas. It's a shame. The movie had just started, so I can't say much yet, but it seems like another great film this year. I plan to watch it a few more times.

It was my first day, so I went to see the movie "Kingdom III: Flames of Fate". Since I didn't have time to eat at a restaurant, I had lunch at TOHO Cinemas. I had a Hot Dog with a drink set (Cheese & Cheese and Coca-Cola Zero M) and a small popcorn. It was my first time having a Hot Dog in a while. The bread was fluffy, the sausage was crispy, and the cheese was probably cheddar. It was very delicious and I was happy to eat it again. Since it wasn't enough, I also had a small popcorn. This time, I had butter oil added, but I thought it was okay without it (although it does make it tastier). I watched "Kingdom" without reading the original work, and I found the first movie very interesting. I was disappointed that I couldn't watch the second one in theaters, so this time I was determined to watch it in the theater. I watched it in Dolby Atmos, so the sound was amazing. An and Nanao are so cool!! Kingdom is always captivating. I'm looking forward to the sequel, even though it was just released!

On the 9th, popcorn and a drink for 500 yen! I usually exchange my miles or buy caramel to eat, but on this day I had the option to choose. I chose sour cream and onion. The popcorn was hard and the taste was so-so.

Today's dinner was at Hibiya "TOHO Cinemas Concession Hibiya". I failed to eat enough before watching the movie, so I rushed into the theater just in time for the show to start. I became a member and bought my ticket at a discount, and as a membership benefit, I received a large bucket of popcorn. Will I be able to finish it all? The theater was a bit dim since I entered a little late. I refrained from taking photos as I didn't want to disturb others. The movie was about 2 hours and 30 minutes long, so I enjoyed munching on the popcorn. I felt like I finally understood why popcorn is sold at movie theaters. Sometimes, there are annoying customers who bring in potato chips and make loud rustling and crunching noises. In contrast, popcorn comes in a silent box and can be eaten quietly. I realized why popcorn is sold at movie theaters.

I love watching movies, and when I go to TOHO Cinemas, I often watch movies in Hibiya. I watched the movie "You Are Insomnia After School" this time. I purchased the Popcorn Set, Flavor Popcorn (Hokkaido Rich Butter Soy Sauce flavor), and Coca-Cola Zero M. The flavor of the popcorn was Hokkaido Rich Butter Soy Sauce, as the other flavors were sold out. Once I started eating it, I couldn't stop (>_<). I usually try to eat during the previews to avoid making noise during the movie (about half), but this time I couldn't stop eating even during the movie, feeling sorry for the people around me (awkward smile). However, the flavor popcorn only comes in one size, M, which is a bit... I have a small appetite and S size is just right for me (I still end up leaving some), so with M size, I always end up leaving some and end up asking for a takeout bag, which is a bit disappointing. But even though I know this, I still end up ordering it (laughs).

After living with masks, I decided to accompany my movie viewing with Masters Dream 900 yen snacks and Sicilian Herb Salt flavor for 450 yen. It's a bit pricey, but having a beer while watching a movie is a rare treat. The beer has a strong bitterness and richness, very delicious. As for the potato snacks, they are thin and moist fried potatoes seasoned with herb salt. No wonder they come with a fork. The soft texture and herbal aroma make them delightful. I finished my drink before the movie started, but having a beer at the movie theater is great.

I usually go to Roppongi, but this time I happened to find a movie I wanted to see at Hibiya. Both places have a long kitchen layout, but the operation in Roppongi is terrible and frustrating. I wonder why they have the same layout here. Hibiya has more space, so they should take more vertical space and have dedicated staff for drinks and food. Sometimes the lines are too long and I end up giving up on buying food and drinks. It's a waste of time.

I went to an underground restaurant because the special novel promotion at Ueno and Nihonbashi had ended. My sister bought tickets online, but I couldn't because I couldn't purchase with points, so I went there directly. By the time I arrived, the show had already started and I thought I couldn't buy tickets, but a staff member helped me by calling the person in charge and I was able to purchase them at the reception. When I tried to thank them on my way out, a different person was there already. My sister also said that the staff she asked earlier was nice. Normally, staff members don't greet us, but today's staff were friendly. We didn't buy a pamphlet because my sister had bought one before, so we used an AU Pay coupon for a 10% discount. I had a hot dog and my sister had a limited edition pizza sandwich, which seemed like it was frozen, similar to a popular brand. Is it normal?

When it comes to watching movies, popcorn is a must! But sometimes I crave churros as a movie snack. This place offers extra-large churros that seem to have slightly increased in price, but they are worth it! They never seem to run out, so be careful not to overeat. However, they don't taste as good when they get cold, and the chewing sound might be louder than popcorn, so eat them quickly. If the churros are sold out, they can fry some for you, but it takes about 7-8 minutes, so be aware of the wait time. The left side of the counter is for cash, while the right side is for cashless payments. You can also get discounts or services at nearby facilities with your movie ticket, so be sure to check that out as well.

I ended up watching "Top Gun: Maverick" on a whim, which led me to watch it four more times at various theaters. I was satisfied but not completely. When I checked the movie schedule at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya, I was surprised to see that starting September 16, 2022, they will have a continuous screening of "Top Gun" followed by "Top Gun: Maverick." I had always wanted to watch "Top Gun" after seeing "Top Gun: Maverick" in theaters, so I was thrilled. I decided to go to TOHO Cinemas Hibiya on a day off from work to watch it in IMAX theater with 339 seats. The screening lasted 255 minutes with a 14-minute break in between, during which you could use the restroom or buy snacks. I ordered a small size salted popcorn for 330 yen and a hot coffee for 400 yen. The popcorn was slightly salty and slightly sweet, and the coffee was delicious. The concession service at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya was exceptional, with fast and polite service. Watching "Top Gun" after "Top Gun: Maverick" made me appreciate the connection between the two movies even more, and I recommend the continuous screening to fans of both films.

I was enjoying shopping and gourmet food around Ginza when I passed by a movie theater and the images of Top Gun I watched recently came to mind. Suddenly, I felt the urge to watch Elvis as well. While there were discussions about watching Top Gun together with my partner and others, no one seemed interested in watching Elvis. I had almost given up, but on this day, in the scorching heat of August, exhausted from walking and full from lunch and sweets, I thought if I were to take a rest in a cool place... I searched on my phone and found out that Elvis was showing in 15 minutes, a perfect timing. It was my first time making reservations online, but the seating was only about 1/5 filled, so I impulsively clicked to reserve a seat. I chose the 10th row where there were no people in front of me, and no one beside me, giving me a sense of openness and comfort. I realized that I was able to take action so easily because I had started using Tabelog and could dine alone comfortably. The embarrassment had faded quite a bit. Watching a movie alone, which I had never done before, felt surprisingly easy and comfortable. I could focus on the movie and immerse myself in Elvis without worrying about my companion. It was more relaxing and enjoyable than I had imagined. I could have watched the movie near my home, but I don't think I would have gone alone if it had been in my local area. It was a very fulfilling 2 hours and 40 minutes of rest during a weekday off, in between shopping and gourmet adventures. By the way, as I mentioned before, the first movie I watched with my own money with a friend was "Murder on the Orient Express" when I was in elementary school, without my parents. It was very moving, and right after that, I also watched "The Towering Inferno" with the money I got as a New Year's gift. To all MyRebi members, what was the first movie you watched?

I usually go to the Toho cinemas in Nihonbashi or Shinjuku, but I was surprised to find out that they have one here too. The beauty salon and head spa are in Ginza, so if you walk a bit, you'll find yourself in Hibiya. Today, I saw Godzilla with a pigeon perched on it, so I took a photo as a bonus. The view here is amazing. The greenery of Hibiya Park stretches out, under a bright blue sky. It's fantastic. I had already eaten lunch at home, so I resisted my favorite little chicken bites and opted for a frozen pineapple cola zero instead. I initially thought of getting a regular cola, but decided on this one in honor of someone I like who is called "Zero" in a movie I'm about to watch. The pineapple was icy cold and didn't melt as quickly as regular ice, so it remained deliciously cold until the end of the movie. The truth is always one!!

Toho Cinemas Ikebukuro offers the same menu as the movie is about 3 hours long, so I opted for the popcorn and drink set. Popcorn choices include salt, caramel, and others. I chose salt and was asked if I wanted butter sauce on it. The special tray is quite large and can be easily placed next to your seat. The amount of popcorn is quite generous, but the salt tends to settle at the bottom. The butter sauce was a bit strong, so I left some behind. I had previously chosen the small size at Ikebukuro, but I prefer the caramel flavor as it feels more satisfying. For the drink, I had a medium-sized Oi Ocha with crushed ice. The staff had lovely smiles, and at the end of the movie, they collect the food trays at the exit, which is very convenient. It's a great set to accompany a movie. Thank you for the meal.

I purchased movie snacks at TOHO Cinemas Concession. The popcorn I got was delicious, with a hot and crispy texture coated in sugar, offering a perfect balance of sweetness and savory flavors. The variety of flavors and other snacks and drinks available made it a convenient and satisfying place to visit. I would definitely like to come back again.

TOHO Cinemas does not allow customers to bring drinks from other stores, so I have been wishing for them to sell something more delicious for about 20 years. Recently, I noticed that they changed their coffee selection through banners or something, but during the pandemic, I felt hesitant to eat or drink in the theater (although the air conditioning is said to be in perfect condition). However, when I went to see the live broadcast of the Takarazuka Grand Theater's Snow Troupe final performance, I bought a drink during intermission because it was getting cold with the air conditioning. I bought the following: - Flat White for 500 yen I stood at a high table in the lobby and enjoyed it. It has a rich flavor and was warm, which made me feel relieved. I thought Costa Coffee had Flat White because it seemed like an Australian shop, but it turns out it originated in London. Regarding the store registration, I purchased it at the Takarazuka Theater basement (Screens 12-13), but the receipt says Midtown Hibiya 4th floor (Screens 1-11), so it seems to be treated as one store under TOHO Cinemas Hibiya. As for the debut performance of the Snow Troupe's top pair, hmm... I didn't particularly like the acting or the show. However, the Rocket (line dance) with 71 members was impressive. And I couldn't help but focus on Asami Hikaru, who is always close to the top. There were 6 members retiring, and I was surprised to see the former top, Asumi Kozato, presenting flowers to the 89th generation members. It truly showed her love for the Snow Troupe.

Movie theaters in the city center often have small lobbies, but even in the prime location of Hibiya, there is quite a spacious area, which is nice. They have IMAX and Dolby Atmos, and the sound quality is one of the best in Tokyo. They also have a Costa Coffee stand, which I can't resist buying from.

This movie theater might be the first time since "Weathering with You". The theater is located underground. "Midnight Swan" is being shown here and at Uplink in Shibuya. I barely managed to get a ticket, but only the first three rows were available and it was quite crowded. The iced coffee costs 400 yen, which seems to have gone up based on past reviews. Well, it might be the going rate, right? The movie was really good.

I went to see a live broadcast of a Takarazuka performance. I accidentally went to Screen 12 as usual, where they were showing "Demon Slayer," but my ticket showed it was on Screen 5. Maybe it was because I had sparkling wine during lunch, but I found myself dozing off during the review, so I headed here during intermission. I ordered the following: - Iced Coffee S 300 yen It tasted less bitter than I expected, was a bit weak, but refreshing. Now, the review mentioning supervision by Bando Tamasaburo was disappointing as the cheap kimono and repetitive lyrics bothered me. This is different from Kabuki borrowing luxurious costumes from Shochiku, so how about this attempt... The play in the second half was really good. It had a happy ending, enjoyable ad-libs, and I could leave the movie theater feeling satisfied. The line dance with 39 members for the debut performance of the 106th class was impressive. I'm debating whether to get tickets for the Tokyo performance...

On the 4th floor of Hibiya Midtown, there is a food vendor where you can buy snacks and drinks to enjoy while watching a movie. I purchased a small size soft drink, which cost 300 yen including tax. I bought an orange juice, although I don't remember the brand, it was 100% orange juice. They also offer the option to have it without ice if you prefer. The drink was well chilled when served, had a strong flavor and acidity, so even if it diluted a bit, the quality of the taste didn't seem to diminish much.

Due to an incident caused by a foreign actor, the screening of "Typhoon Family" was postponed. Although I wasn't originally planning to watch this movie, it will finally be shown for just 3 weeks, with the stage greetings being broadcast live to other theaters, which piqued my interest. Roppongi Hills was already full, so I chose this theater instead. I arrived just in time, so I reluctantly purchased a drink from TOHO Cinemas. I ordered an iced cafe latte, but the taste was weak in coffee and smelled more like cream. It was too sweet for my liking, as expected. I've always thought they should offer tastier drinks if they don't allow outside items. As for the stage greetings, there was a photo session where filming was allowed at other theaters as well. Despite not being a great speaker, I found Tsuyoshi Kusanagi surprisingly cool. Rumi Sakakibara was as cute as ever, and Ryuya Fuji looked youthful. I understood why they didn't re-edit the film. It mostly revolves around the brothers, and since he always appeared alongside the second son, cutting him out would be impossible. Seeing him brought back memories of the incident and made it hard to focus. Despite a great opening title sequence, the movie felt lackluster. I don't think a new car bumper would fall off so easily, and would something that had been kept for 10 years suddenly float in front of children's eyes like that? My apologies if you're a fan of the movie.
