Today, my wife went back to Takamatsu early in the morning for a family visit, leaving me with some rare free time. I decided to start my day by visiting the Komeda Coffee shop located below Bic Camera in Yurakucho. This place used to be a Chinese restaurant called "Kodonotei" in the past, where I used to go after working a half-day shift on Saturdays at Yurakucho Sogo, enjoying their famous shumai dumplings and beer before parting ways. It brings back nostalgic memories.
On the other hand, when it comes to Komeda Coffee, I had a lingering regret from my time living in Nagoya, where I never got to try their famous "Shironoir" dessert. As someone who rarely visits cafes except for breakfast, I never found the right timing to try it before leaving Nagoya.
As I descended into the shop, there was no trace of the old "Kodonotei" atmosphere, which was expected. I chose a seat and ordered the seasonal limited edition "Mini Milk Noir (640 yen)" and an "Iced Coffee (640 yen)." I intended to settle the score from Nagoya in Tokyo, but then the staff asked me, "Would you like to have the morning set?" Wait, morning set? I see, Komeda's morning set includes a free drink as a time-limited service. Well, I didn't want to miss out on that opportunity, so I decided to go for it.
After enjoying the butter toast and boiled egg that came with the set, I tried the "Mini Milk Noir." It was indeed delicious, but more like a pastry than a dessert. It satisfied my curiosity, though.
By the way, the shop had memorabilia of "Mr. Giants" Shigeo Nagashima and the "Unprecedented Two-Way Player" Shohei Ohtani on display. I wonder why they have such items decorating the place.

I went to Komeda looking for shaved ice. It's located on the basement floor of Bic Camera. It was crowded when I arrived, so I wrote my name down and waited. About 10 people were in line, but surprisingly the wait was not too long. After waiting for 12 minutes, I was seated. I ordered the new item this year, Craft Cola Mini @640 yen plus soft serve @120 yen (tax included). While waiting, I noticed that this place doesn't serve spaghetti. I wonder why. Soon, the Craft Cola arrived. It had a dark cola color with black specks visible. There was no lemon on top, but maybe they don't include it for the Mini size? The Craft Cola was amazing. It had a strong spice flavor, maybe cinnamon or cloves. It tasted authentic. I enjoy Craft Cola, and this one was just as good. The spice flavor made it different from the regular cola syrup you find at other shaved ice shops. It felt like a shaved ice for adults. The syrup and soft serve complemented each other well. Komeda should consider serving Craft Cola as a drink option as well.

Finally found a place to eat soba, but couldn't find a place to relax with a cup of coffee after. Ended up going to Komeda, as the underground area of Nagoya Station was full the day before. Ordered an iced coffee instead of a hot one because I was afraid of sweating profusely. I wanted to have a morning set too, but I was already full. The iced coffee had a refreshing taste with a hint of acidity and bitterness that I enjoyed. I could also charge my phone, so I want to stay here until the last minute. The atmosphere is nice, so I want to stay as long as possible.

In Yurakucho, Tokyo, there is a coffee chain called Komeda Coffee. I always struggle to decide what to have for breakfast on my business trips - should I go for soba or gyudon set at a beef bowl restaurant, or a café? Today, I decided to have breakfast at a café chain. At Komeda, they offer a service where you get half a slice of bread with your drink for free, but I didn't use that. I ordered a hot coffee and a tamago dog separately. The coffee was the usual drip coffee with a stable aroma. The tamago dog was really voluminous! I remembered that Komeda's single dishes always have a lot of food, so I made sure to eat a hearty breakfast and replenish my energy. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the store for shaved ice! I ordered the seasonal "Mango Jasmine" and "Matcha" flavors with soft serve ice cream on top. The Matcha flavor had additional toppings like condensed milk and red bean which were charged separately, so it ended up being quite simple. The size was quite large, perfect for those with a sweet tooth. They also offer a mini size for those who are unsure. As the weather gets hotter, shaved ice becomes even more delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It is located on the 7th floor of Yurakucho's Bic Camera store. The 8th floor is a movie theater (Kadokawa Cinema Yurakucho), which is convenient for killing time before watching a movie or for a quick bite. It is eligible for Bic Camera points, so having a point card is beneficial. I had a hot dog and an iced coffee, which seemed to be discounted as a set.

It is located on the basement floor of the Yurakucho Bic Camera. It is always bustling with people, but I was lucky to enter without waiting in line this day, so I went in without hesitation. I had a coffee with plenty of milk and toast from the morning menu. WiFi is also available. Thank you for the meal.

On Sunday, I attended a public session at the Japan Medical Association General Meeting 2023 Otemachi Conference to learn more about illnesses and gain some insights. The seminar was quite long, lasting 2 hours without a break, which left me feeling tired. After the session, I decided to grab a bite to eat at Komeda's Coffee near the Tokyo International Forum. The place was quite busy, but I remembered a toast that I had seen on a TV show before and wanted to try it. I ordered an iced coffee and a generous egg pizza toast, while my companion ordered an iced milk tea and a napoletana pasta. The pizza toast was delicious with a combination of tomato, cheese, and egg paste on crispy bread. It was quite satisfying. After finishing our meal, we planned to visit an exhibition and then head to the Wisteria Festival at Kameido Tenjin Shrine.

Thank you for the delicious coffee jelly! This restaurant is located right in front of Yurakucho Station, near JR and other train lines, inside the Bic Camera store. I visited around 2 pm on a holiday. There were two groups ahead of me, so I got a numbered ticket and only had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated. Since I had already eaten lunch, I opted for the coffee jelly dessert. It came with a generous serving of soft serve ice cream on top, typical of Komeda's style. It was delicious.

After finishing work, I had some free time until late at night, so I visited the restaurant. I ordered Neapolitan pasta and melon soda float. The portions were generous, and all the dishes were delicious with good value for money. I think late nights on weekdays are a hidden gem. I'm grateful for that. I want to visit regularly.

Visited during a holiday teatime. There was quite a wait, but we were seated after about a 5-minute wait for a table for two. We ordered the Shiro Noir for the first time and shared it between two of us. The soft serve ice cream and brioche were a perfect combination! Thank you for the delicious treat.

At the Big Camera B1F in Yurakucho, there is a Komeda Coffee Shop where you can have breakfast. Although it's a bit pricier than other Komeda locations, they still offer a proper morning menu. I ordered Komeda Blend and American coffee, along with a roll bread, mountain toast, boiled egg with egg paste, butter, and strawberry jam. People are here before work reading newspapers, working on their laptops, having meetings, or scrolling through their smartphones. Everyone is spending their morning in their own way to start the day. ☕️

As I boarded the train, I thought it would be nice to stop by this place on the way to work instead of going straight to the office. The morning menu for 600 yen comes with bread and one side dish. In Nagoya, I'm sure you get more side dishes, but in Tokyo, it's understandable. It's not a leisurely meal, so I'm concerned about the time it takes to be served. The coffee and bread arrived at the same time. The Yamanashi plum and white peach jam, which I thought wouldn't be too sweet, turned out to be quite sweet. I washed it down with coffee. Maybe I should have chosen boiled eggs or egg paste instead.

Mini Shiro Noir is a fun dessert from Komeda that you can enjoy the contrast between hot and cold temperatures. The mini size is perfect for trying out. The fluffy Danish pastry is incredibly delicious, it's so soft and fluffy! The taste is amazing.

On January 19, 2023, I went to the Idemitsu Museum of Arts to view the "Flowers of Edo Paintings" exhibition. The museum had recently acquired the "Price Collection," featuring works by Jakuchu, which was postponed for 2 years due to the pandemic. I made a reservation in advance to avoid crowds and enjoy a leisurely viewing experience. After the exhibition, I planned to have lunch at Isehiro for their delicious yakitori bento. While waiting for my reserved time at the museum, I visited Komeda Coffee in Yurakucho for some coffee and a mini shiro noir. The cafe was cozy, and the food and drinks were great. Overall, the experience at the museum was a bit underwhelming compared to other exhibitions I have visited. I am now contemplating whether to make a reservation for the museum's upcoming exhibitions.

On the 8th floor of Yodobashi Camera, there is Kadokawa Cinema Yurakucho. It is located on the basement 1st floor. There are many cafes around here, so it's convenient for a quick meal before or after a movie. The restaurant is spacious, but it tends to be crowded with customers, so it's usually full or close to full. Sometimes the elevator to the 8th floor can take a while, so it's better to leave a little early before the movie. The menu is similar to other Komeda Coffee shops. They offer a free morning set until 11 am, which includes a drink and toast, with the option of choosing Nagoya's famous Ogura toast. The Komeda Black coffee is made with special beans and is quite delicious. The Komeda Blend coffee is also good and satisfying for a chain coffee shop.

A new band was announced and I watched the wide show YOSHIKI in the morning while getting ready to go out. I was annoyed by my lazy cats while getting ready. Before the live show at the International Forum, it was my important friend's birthday, so we gathered here. I thought about waiting at the station, but with the typhoon coming, I decided to check out a restaurant. Even though they said we could freely use the spacious sofa with outlets and USB chargers, when I confirmed with the staff, the interaction was strange. There was a 90-minute time limit, but we arrived at different times and some were sleeping without any communication. We all had fun in our wet rain boots. The lemonade and moon-viewing were related to HIDE, but it was a bit disappointing that there was no alcohol at Komeda. The moon-viewing burger was filling and had a good texture. I learned for the first time that they have coffee with honey in it, which is famous. It's the season for moon-viewing after all. HIDE was eating a moon-viewing burger, right? (Although it was a different restaurant)

Big Camera is not directly connected, so you have to go up the private staircase from the exit on the 2nd underground floor. ★Opening hours: I received a paper with a reception at 12:00 on holidays and waited. I didn't have to wait for more than 10 minutes. There are plenty of seats inside and it seems to have a good turnover. ★What I ordered this time: ◎ Anka Spaghetti 860 yen ◎ Cafe au lait 620 yen Hmm, it seems a bit expensive. Did they raise the prices again? I thought, but it seems to be the Ginza price. Coffee was 60 yen, and Anka Spaghetti was 30 yen more expensive. It's a bit pricey, but you can relax in a spacious seat in Ginza, so I guess this price difference is inevitable.

In March 2022, a Komeda Coffee shop opened on the basement floor of Yurakucho Bic Camera, directly connected to Yurakucho Station on the Yurakucho subway line. I visited on a hot day, remembering they had shaved ice. I was seated at a cozy single table, perfect for relaxing. The table was spacious, suitable for working with a laptop. There are power outlets and USB ports available. The location used to be a different place, but now there is a passage from the 2nd basement floor of Yurakucho Bic Camera for access. I ordered the "Komeda Special Caramel Au Lait Shaved Ice" from their current lineup. They offer mini and regular sizes, and adding soft serve ice cream and condensed milk topping costs 940 yen. The combination of soft serve and shaved ice is unusual but quite sweet. The coffee syrup and caramel sauce blend well, not too bitter. The portion size is generous, typical of Komeda. The ice melts quickly, so it's best to enjoy it while the ice is still crunchy. The ice texture was a bit firm in some parts, but considering the price, I might go back on another hot day. Thank you for the meal.

There is a new Komeda Coffee located in the basement of Yurakucho Bic Camera. I arrived before 9 am and was able to enjoy their morning set. The restaurant was not crowded, so I was seated promptly. I ordered a decaffeinated coffee for 600 yen and the morning set which included toast, homemade egg paste, and strawberry jam. I often drink decaf coffee at home nowadays. I was surprised to see that the toast already had strawberry jam spread on it when it was served. The homemade egg paste was not as soft as I had imagined, I would have preferred it to be a bit softer, almost like it wasn't fully cooked. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
