The dinner for the Tachikawa expedition is at that famous Italian restaurant in the south exit. However, even though it's opening time, the restaurant is not open yet. A group of reserved customers waiting outside finally got impatient and opened the door themselves. They asked the staff and went upstairs, but oh, they didn't notice the lone customer waiting outside? Even so, I waited for a while, but after 5 minutes, there was still no sign of the door opening. Looking at the board filled with reservations for the night, it seemed like they couldn't be bothered with single customers. Feeling a bit lost, I walked away and saw a happy hour sign! So, I decided to go in. This was my first visit around 5:00 pm. The light drinking set for 1,250 yen (tax included) included bone senbei, pickles, chicken tail skewers, eel skewers, and a choice of drink. The drink was a premium malt beer, which is usually 330 yen, so the value was quite good. The bone senbei was tasteless, but when dipped in the accompanying Sansho pepper, it became enjoyable. The pickles were refreshing and sour, very delicious. The chicken tail skewers had a dark appearance but a chewy texture, and the eel skewers were traditional and delicious. They also had a Tokyo Sour cocktail for 110 yen during the happy hour, which was a unique plum and shiso flavor. The Ichinokura sake poured from a full bottle was very cold and refreshing. The place was not crowded, with only one customer before me and two takeout orders. The staff, including a long-haired chef and a friendly waitress, were attentive and made the experience enjoyable. Overall, this restaurant in the south exit of Tachikawa caters well to those who want to enjoy eel dishes or take advantage of their original happy hour deals and affordable beer prices.
