I found this bakery chain store in the basement of Isetan in Tachikawa. They had various products, but the most reasonable one was probably the Twisted Donut for 130 yen. It had a fluffy texture and was covered in sugar all over. It was sweet, so it's definitely popular with kids. The dough itself was delicious too.

In June 2015, my family has been enjoying the Danish pastries from Danish Danish Burdigala at Tachikawa Ecute. The layers of pastry folded over and over in the Danish pastries are so delicious. Originating from Denmark, hence the name Danish pastries. Speaking of Denmark, Andersen comes to mind. There are two Andersen bakeries near Tachikawa station, and whenever we come to Isetan, we often buy pastries to take home. This time, I bought a loaf of bread and a chocolate bar. I ate the chocolate bar shortly after purchasing it, as a snack. The combination of chocolate, custard, and Danish pastry was delicious. The bread was saved for breakfast the next day. I topped it with a soft-boiled egg from Arokan blue eggs. This combination was super delicious. Andersen pastries are always so tasty.

On a weekday around noon in June 2014, I visited Andersen alone to look for bread for dinner. Andersen is located on the basement floor of Isetan Tachikawa store. That day, I decided to have gratin for dinner and needed to buy bread to go with it. They were having a "Denmark Fair" that they hold every June. I ended up buying a "Trekornbrot" (1/4) from the fair. Personally, I had never heard of Trekornbrot before, but it's a bread with lots of sesame seeds on top. The sesame seeds added a rich and delicious flavor to the bread. I also bought a "Dinner Bread made from Hokkaido wheat" at the same time, which was also good. It had a rich flavor, and I felt like I didn't even need butter or margarine with it.

Eat-in available ★ 2014.04 [Revisit] After a long time, I visited again! As expected... the taste is consistently delicious. There are many breads priced around 300 yen, and the Fruit Nut Bread with plenty of dried fruits and nuts (half size for around 700 yen) was surprisingly delicious and satisfying, even though I initially thought it was expensive. It's more like a fruit cake than bread... highly recommended! The high points raised the rating as well! By the way, I discovered that Andersen's website is surprisingly informative. Please take a look. 2010.06 [Visit] <Rating: 3.6> I visited around 6 pm on a Saturday. It's a typical bakery "Andersen". Located on the basement floor of Isetan in front of JR Tachikawa Station. Since it wasn't cafe time... the store was very empty. The eat-in space is available until 8 pm. You can choose your favorite bread or sandwich from the menu displayed in the store (if you're lucky, you can have freshly baked bread which is the best!). This time, I ordered coffee for 210 yen and a banana muffin for 270 yen. The coffee was very strong and bitter (might be too bitter for some people!). The banana muffin was full of bananas, with plenty of walnuts! It was a bit too sweet and high in calories. There are various breads displayed in the store, and you can taste many of them. Just choose your favorite one... highly recommended to everyone! Whether you eat there or take it home, it's all good!

Today's lunch was Halloween bread bought at Andersen in the basement of Isetan Tachikawa Store. Purchased items: 1. Medium Pastry/Pumpkin (240 yen) 2. Halloween Pumpkin Pastry (240 yen) 3. Ghost Bread (200 yen) 4. Black Cat Chocolate Cream Bread (200 yen) 5. Fig Pastry (200 yen). Tachikawa has Andersen in Lumine, a station building, and along with Isetan Tachikawa Store, it has always been popular with customers. Andersen seems to have a solid popularity among the conservative crowd. I used to love Andersen about 10 years ago. I often bought from Andersen at Shinjuku Isetan and Andersen at Shin-Tokorozawa, collecting common seals with The Little Mermaid and receiving commemorative items. Even now, the Margaret Club seals and backing cards are exactly the same as back then. Maybe that system is the reason for its popularity. Andersen at Isetan Tachikawa Store also has an eat-in area, and I wanted to eat slowly and go home if I had time, but I took it out and ate at home. I ate bread 1, 3, and 5. The Ghost Bread unexpectedly had a custard cream filling with a homemade feel and was delicious. Bread 1 and 5 were really delicious as expected from their appearance. So, I almost ended up eating the Black Cat too. But I resisted and left the Halloween Pumpkin and Black Cat for my family. Maybe I'll sneakily eat the Black Cat later (laughs). *As of 10/30, the overall rating on Tabelog is 3.09 stars.

Dinner at Home - I received a call from home in the evening saying that dinner would be stew, and that there was no rice so I should buy some bread for myself. When I got off at Tachikawa Station, I immediately headed to the basement of Tachikawa Isetan. I arrived at the store around 18:40, and there were only 4 customers buying bread inside. I bought three pieces of bread on a tray: Heidi's white bread for 140 yen, High Cream Bread for 150 yen, and Cheese Bacon for 220 yen. I lined up two pieces of bread next to the stew, which was the main dish for dinner at home. Heidi's white bread was large with white flour, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a slightly salty taste. The recommended way to eat it is to tear it and dip it in the stew. On the other hand, the High Cream Bread had a good aroma and a moist texture. It had a light salty taste in the bread, and the cream was very smooth with a light sweetness. It was a taste I quite liked, but it didn't go well with the stew, so I saved it for dessert. I was too full to eat the Cheese Bacon bread, so I decided to have it for breakfast the next day. When looking at everything in the store, I wanted to eat it all, but two pieces of bread were enough in the end.

Tachikawa Isetan. There is a bakery called "Andersen" on the basement floor. There is also an eat-in space on the left, but this time I bought some to take home. The space inside the store felt a bit narrow, especially around the register area. I went around 2:00 PM on a weekday, and it was quite crowded. The prices of the bread are a bit high, but they are delicious. [Items purchased] - Heidi's white bread... 140 yen - Sunrise (melon bread)... 150 yen

At Andersen in Tachikawa Isetan, I was lured by the bread samples and decided to choose some bread. I usually go for sweet pastry bread, but this time I didn't feel particularly drawn to any. They all looked good, but I struggled to decide which one to pick. Eventually, I chose three: banana cake, kouign-amann, and baba. The baba was a traditional sweet treat soaked in liquor, with raisins in a moist brioche-like dough. It was small but tasty. The banana cake was packed with walnuts and had a dense texture. The kouign-amann was coated in sugar and had a rough surface with a slightly moist interior. The calorie content was a concern. There was also an eat-in space available.

I visited the shop around 11:30 am on Tuesday. It is located in the B1 floor food section of Isetan Tachikawa store, which is diagonally left in front of JR Tachikawa station north exit. Upon entering the shop, there is a takeout register on the right, a bread display in front, and an eat-in space on the left. The eat-in area was about 40% full at this time, and there were a few customers lining up at the takeout register. I tried the "Genovese & Cheese Bread" (189 yen) and the "Spring Vegetable and Bacon Quiche" (262 yen). The Genovese & Cheese Bread is a French bread topped with Genovese sauce and cheese. The cheese has a crunchy texture, so it might be better when heated. The slightly roasted Genovese sauce has a hint of bitterness, making it a bread more suited for adults. The Spring Vegetable and Bacon Quiche contains asparagus, broccoli, and bacon. It has a subtle cheese aroma and tastes delicious. The quiche is served in a bread container, which is fluffy and enjoyable. There was one thing that caught my attention, which was the way the tongs were placed. In most shops, tongs are usually hung on a hanger pole, but in this shop, they were just placed in a box, making it difficult to separate them. This may lead to multiple people's hands touching not only the handle but also the part that touches the bread. Considering that it is located in Isetan's basement and customers may have many bags, I hope they can consider making it easier for customers to shop.

It is located in the basement of Tachikawa Isetan. The department store on the north side, Isetan, is closer to the station than Takashimaya, and it seems to be slightly more bustling with customers. There is a spacious eat-in area and a wide sales corner. Andersen's shops are scattered around, but this one may be larger in scale. I wanted to compare it with Takashimaya's San Germán, so I purchased a Long Fermented Bread (3 slices for 162 yen). Two days later, I had it for breakfast as toast. The dough is fine-grained and remains moist even when baked. It is delicious, but I found that the fine texture tends to leave lumps in the mouth. I wondered what would be the best way to enjoy it. It is truly of higher quality than supermarket bread. Strangely enough, it seems like it would make a very elegant bread crumb for frying. I wonder if it is not suitable for soaking in milk for baby food or elderly care food due to its unfamiliar texture. It's a bit confusing because of the unfamiliar texture. Oh! Next time I visit this shop, I might end up buying the same item again because I want to explore it. This Andersen's shop is also located in the basement of Lumine in Tachikawa, and I passed by it only when accompanying my mother for shopping. Next time, I would like to taste the coffee at the eat-in area of this shop and also visit the shop at Lumine.

I thought this shop had already been reviewed, but it hasn't yet. I often visit the shop in Haneda. The variety of sweet bread here is excellent. Despite being near the deli and ingredient section, it doesn't feel at all like a regular store, which is great. The bread is all well-made and there's nothing to complain about. Also, they have a dining area where you can sit and enjoy the bread you bought. Give it a try!

In the basement of Tachikawa Isetan, there is a bakery. The dark cherry Danish is definitely delicious, my favorite at Andersen. The small baguette is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with a good bite to it. I wish it had a bit more wheat flavor, but I still like it. I also love the bacon epi. The cream puff has a custard cream with a mild sweetness on the classic dough. The wreath-shaped walnut bread is firm and satisfying, and I like it.

Isetan in Tachikawa, "Andersen" in the department store basement. There is also an eat-in corner. In August 2014, before boarding the train from Tachikawa Station, I bought various souvenirs, and my son jumped on the sweet bread samples... So we decided to buy some bread to take home. What I bought: Bacon Epi, Milk France, Tuna France. We enjoyed them right away on the express train. The Bacon Epi is my son's favorite, and the mild pepper flavor is just right. Eating hard bread at room temperature on the same day you buy it really brings out its simple deliciousness. Thank you for the meal.

This is my favorite store. Andersen is also located in Lumine Tachikawa, but I prefer the one inside Isetan Tachikawa. I think it's a great store because:
<About the bread> The bread is always freshly baked, and there are plenty of small cut bread samples available. They have a wider variety compared to other stores. I recommend the freshly baked long-fermented bread! It's really soft inside, and the top part is buttered, which is incredibly delicious.
<Service> The staff is clean and the service is very good, especially since it's located inside Isetan.
<About the store> There is a cafe space where you can have toast and a drink set for 300 yen in the morning. You can also order hot sandwiches and other items purchased in the store. The drinks and soups are also very delicious.
