The other day, I found a restaurant called "Hiroshima Cuisine Aki" on my way. I wanted to have motsu-ni set meal, but the only option for lunch was mackerel salt-grilled set meal... How disappointing. It seems like they focus more on takeout bento for lunch, and dinner is their main offering. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with sunken kotatsu seating and fluffy cushions. The mackerel salt-grilled was delicious, especially with grated daikon. The set meal also came with salad, small side dishes, and pickles for 800 yen, which I thought was reasonable. After the meal, they surprised us with complimentary iced coffee, which was a nice touch. I've been staying up late watching TV dramas this summer, but the iced coffee helped me feel refreshed. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. PS: I witnessed a customer dispute for the first time in a while... It must be because of the hot and humid weather... Thankfully, a young man managed to calm the situation. Phew, that was a relief. I hope it cools down soon...

I wanted to eat motsunabe, so I looked it up and found this place. You can enjoy both grilled motsu and motsunabe here. The master and the hostess are very kind. I ordered a few beers and some skewers. The appetizer was white stew. The tongue, cheek meat, liver, and intestines are delicious. I also ordered Hoppy, shiitake mushrooms, and motsunabe for seconds. The motsunabe is delicious!!! It's more than enough for less than 1,000 yen per serving. I ordered champon noodles as the finishing touch. Thank you for the meal!

This is a shop located in Shinjuku 2-chome, closer to the 3rd avenue of Shinjuku Gyoen station. I have been here for dinner once, and this is my first time having lunch. The prices for takeout and eat-in are the same, ranging from 800-900 yen. Some items are offered as set meals, while others are available as bento boxes for both takeout and eat-in. I wanted to have the silver salmon bento box for eat-in, but ended up getting it for takeout. It comes with salad and miso soup. Although it's not exactly 900 yen, you can tell right away that they use good quality silver salmon. There is no compromise in quality just because it's a bento box. The salmon is delicious. It may even be worth the 1200 yen price tag at a nearby department store. With the weather getting better, it's nice to enjoy a meal outside. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Located a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoen, this restaurant in the second district offers a lunch menu with 5 items, 4 of which are bento boxes. I decided to try the grilled mackerel set meal, which was the only non-bento option. The food arrived in 7 minutes and looked good! The mackerel was a bit small but had a good amount of fat and tasted delicious. Overall, the mackerel set meal at Motsu Noya was quite satisfying and reasonably priced. However, the portion of rice may be a bit too much for women. They even served coffee at the end, but there were two things that seemed a bit strange - perhaps they used flavored aburaage in the dish, as it tasted sweet. There was also someone smoking an electronic cigarette, so it seems smoking is allowed. Despite these minor issues, it was a good lunch option nearby. I will consider visiting for dinner next time.

I ordered an assorted skewer set of 10 yakitori, mokuyu dashi tamagoyaki, and onigiri. For the onigiri, I chose salmon without hesitation as there were plum, bonito, and salmon options available. The yakitori was delicious, and the onigiri was fluffy and beautifully made. I wonder how they make such fluffy and beautiful onigiri. The dried daikon radish appetizer was also very tasty.

The 1041st restaurant in Tokyo is a place where you can have lunch while watching a large TV broadcasting commercial TV channels. It may be uncommon these days. The interior is like a typical izakaya. It must be lively at night. Lunchtime feels relaxed. The regular set meal is just fine. It's delicious in a normal way, which is the most important thing.

This is a yakitori izakaya that I have visited before, with the usual Italian madam, and I visited again. In the area near Shinjuku 2-chome, there are many bars, but surprisingly few izakayas. (Come to think of it, there was also a karaage restaurant in front of this shop.) This time, we had the soy sauce-based motsunabe (starting from 1280 yen for 2 people). The motsu at this shop, which is processed daily, is very fresh and washed thoroughly, so there is no unpleasant smell. The round intestines, which are rich in fat (collagen?), are soft and flavorful. The soy sauce-based soup, combined with the broth of motsu and leeks, is very delicious. If you feel like having motsunabe but don't want to go to a specialty shop, you can be fully satisfied at this shop.

【Revisit after 10 months】After passing by for the first time in a while, I noticed a sign saying "Atsugi Shirotoro Horumon" so I decided to go in. The staff seemed to have changed. I started with a Hoppy set and appetizers. For the main dish, I went with the Atsugi Shirotoro Horumon, along with some vinegar tripe to snack on with my Hoppy. I realized I needed some vegetables, so I ordered miso cabbage. I also saw they had sashimi on the menu, so I decided to try the bonito sashimi for 800 yen. It felt a bit expensive for what it was. I also had them grill 3 types of motsu yakitori, and then came the highlight - the Atsugi Shirotoro Horumon. It was quite delicious, being a specialty dish and all. Finally, I had some boiled greens with a tasty dashi soy sauce to cleanse my palate. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the sauce was.

Meeting up with a friend after 10 years, I noticed they had aged a bit. We decided to have motsunabe because it was cold, but the flavor was so weak that it seemed like they forgot to add seasoning. Other dishes were okay. The atmosphere was reminiscent of old-school Shinjuku, which I liked! Food: Disappointing, Drinks: Average, Service: Good, Atmosphere: Great, Cost: Okay.

This was my third visit after a long time. I always go late so some items are sold out, but the yakitori is always delicious no matter what you order! The charred parts are fragrant and amazing. The onigiri is fluffy and chewy, incredibly delicious. The filling seems to vary by day, but I chose plum and it was delicious! It was so tasty that I finished it in no time. I want to go again soon.

I went to Donden. Watching the skewers being grilled from the open counter increases your appetite. First, the appetizer. The macaroni salad is light, but the chunks of ham add a nice touch. The avocado and tomato salad is generous in portion and satisfying. Next, the specialty white intestine hormone, with a chewy texture and a seasoning that goes well with alcohol. Lastly, the recommended chicken tempura today! The crispy coating was satisfyingly hot. Two beers, a Hoppy, and a green tea highball came to a little over 3000 yen for one person. The cost performance is also good. I would like to try the skewers next time. It is recommended to visit during early hours on weekdays as it gets crowded on weekends.

After a casual drinking session at Niku Jyukusui Gyoza Seisakujo Dandadan Sakaba Shinjuku Sanchome branch, we decided to visit another place for a drink. We found this place right in the middle of 2nd street, although we didn't know it existed. The storefront is wide open, with a counter on the left and tables on the right. The interior with wooden elements and stone walls creates a calm atmosphere. It feels like a casual yakitori place but with a touch of the 2nd street vibe, which is nice. We ordered an appetizer for 500 yen, white motsu horumon for 600 yen, a cabbage plate with homemade miso for 400 yen, and yakisoba. We enjoyed chatting with the friendly owner, who shared stories about the old days of 2nd street. Although we were already full, we could feel the freshness of the motsu yaki. We'll definitely come back to try more dishes next time. We might have said something inappropriate as we were a bit drunk, so we apologize for that.

On 2017.09.25 (Monday) at 11:55, I wandered around without finding a restaurant and ended up coming to this place that was available. It was my first time here, a place that had been talked about in my company. As the leader of the group, I decided to check it out. The long L-shaped counter was nice. However, I could sense that they put more effort into their nighttime service. The service was not very lively. I ordered the "beef stir-fry" with coffee for 850 yen. The rice was delicious. It wasn't bad, but I wish the seasoning was a bit more thoughtful. The flavors didn't stand out enough. I adjusted it with the soy sauce and shichimi on the table. By the time I left, I felt like I would become a regular customer, as it seemed to be a popular spot. I will try going at night next time and leave another comment.

Shinjuku lunch. It gets unusually crowded on the day of "Seseri." I think it was on a Wednesday? If you go at 11:30 on Seseri day, almost all customers order Seseri. It often sells out before 12 o'clock, so be careful. The regular lunch here is just average. The miso soup, salad, everything is normal. The Seseri lunch has a lot of fat, but it is definitely tastier than the regular lunch.

Dinner time on this day was at this area... Revisited after a long time with workplace members! [Exterior] It looks like this... Located around the middle of Shinjuku Gyoenmae and Shinjuku Sanchome... It stands quietly one street off Shinjuku Street! [Interior] It looks like this... We entered around 8 pm on a weekday and it was almost full! We were seated in a tatami room near the entrance of the store. [Menu] Now... what should we eat? [Specialty "motsunabe"] Ta-da! On this day, we mainly enjoyed this dish! In the previous two visits, we didn't have motsunabe, but... it was quite delicious! When we had red motsu horumon before, we criticized it as being tough, but... this motsu disappeared in our mouth! We enjoyed it deliciously on this day too... it was a happy meal! *Apologies for the brief content... haha [Restroom] Ending with the usual restroom talk...
