Yesterday I went to Soba no Matsuya, so today I went to Gyudon no Matsuya. I found a coupon for the Brown Sauce Hamburg set meal, which was 600 yen reduced to 550 yen, so I purchased it from the ticket machine. However, when I paid with my Suica card, I realized that I didn't use the coupon... What a shame. After that, my ticket number was called and I picked up the Brown Sauce Hamburg set meal. It also came with a salad, which was a nice surprise. I started by eating the salad, and then I tried the large hamburger which had some interesting textures like tendons and cartilage. The brown sauce was rich in flavor, so the rice went well with it. Before I knew it, I had finished the meal. It was delicious.

I paid 360 yen at Matsuya for a mini beef bowl breakfast. It came with rice, pickles, seaweed, raw egg, miso soup, and the mini beef bowl itself. To be able to eat all this for only 360 yen, and in the morning no less, is amazing. Matsuya is incredible. Japan's deflation, the quality of the restaurant industry, it's all just too amazing. I usually get the regular beef bowl, but this time I registered on the app and used a coupon to get the Negi-Tappuri Umakara Negitama Gyumeshi (beef bowl with plenty of green onions and spicy sauce) with a side of miso soup. The Negi-Tappuri Umakara Negitama Gyumeshi had a generous amount of green onions. I started with the miso soup, which was extremely hot! The tofu was scalding hot and I almost burned my tongue. The miso soup was so hot that I moved on to the beef bowl. The egg was nice and runny, but the green onions were a bit overpowering. I think I prefer the regular beef bowl. Thank you for the meal.

It was in December 2020 when I visited Tokyo after returning from Osaka. What brings me comfort is having a nearby "Matsuya". When I want a quick and delicious meal at an affordable price, Matsuya is the go-to place. The first time I tried it, I was amazed by how tasty it was. It has been a reliable option for me when money was tight. Just having it nearby makes me feel like "this town is okay". It gives me a sense of security. No matter what happens, I feel like I can get by (haha). Today, I had the Kalbi Yakiniku set meal (660 yen). Oh, I had it in Sugamo the other day too. It's like I feel the urge to eat it regularly. I have this image that yakiniku restaurants leave a smell on your clothes. But with Matsuya, I can enjoy a satisfying meal without worrying about that. The salad that comes with it is a nice touch. The chicken curry was delicious, with a good level of spiciness and thick chunks of chicken. It paired well with the rice, and having miso soup on the side made it a satisfying meal. Today's lunch was a beef bowl from Matsuya♪ Since yesterday's kalbi bowl was not that great, I decided to have beef bowl from Matsuya instead. When I entered the store, there was a new model ticket machine... I'm actually not good at using these... so it took me some time. I ended up purchasing the Negi Shio Buta Katarosu (pork shoulder loin with lots of green onions) instead of the Negi Tappuri Umakara Negi Tamagyu Meshi (beef bowl with lots of green onions). The Negi Shio Buta Katarosu that was served looked delicious with lots of green onions. The pork shoulder loin had a firm texture and was quite tasty with a slightly strong saltiness that went well with the rice. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you.

I tried the "Gyudon (Beef Bowl) - Large Portion" at Matsuya for 390 yen including tax. It came with miso soup. I also added some fresh vegetables for 110 yen. The result was...hmm, the beef slices seemed thinner than I remembered, which was a bit surprising. The restaurant was clean and the menu was diverse, and the staff were friendly, but the thin beef slices were a bit disappointing. Keep it up, Matsuya. Thank you for the meal!

It was not "lunch" but "morning". I went out for breakfast with a friend who stayed over early in the morning. We headed straight to Matsuya. On the way, I bought a "soft portable ashtray" for my friend at Seven-Eleven. For myself, I got a set with rice, miso soup, pickles, raw egg, seaweed, and a mini beef bowl. I can eat as much rice as I want with my favorite beef bowl and egg. With miso soup and pickles, I don't need anything else. This costs 360 yen.
