I went to a restaurant with a friend who had never cooked okonomiyaki before, thinking it was a self-cooking style, but it turned out to be not self-cooking! I went to Seibu Ikebukuro for shopping and decided to have lunch. It was too hot on the rooftop terrace, so I went to the restaurant floor. This place seemed less crowded, so I chose to eat here. I had tonpeiyaki (pork pancake) and Baby Star snacks. The Baby Star snacks added a nice sweet and salty touch. The crispy thin gyoza (dumplings) were delicious. I couldn't decide between takoyaki or gyoza filling, but I chose this one as it seemed like a good snack with alcohol. I also had thickly grilled beef tongue, which had a simple and tasty meat flavor. I topped the classic mixed yakisoba (fried noodles) with an egg. The sauce yakisoba with plenty of cabbage was satisfying. I also ordered shrimp chili for a little something to munch on. Lastly, I couldn't decide between potato butter and chicken tail and Kujo green onions.

After 3 pm, I had a late lunch at the Seibu Ikebukuro 8th floor. There were 2 groups of customers before me, and it was a relaxed afternoon (more customers came later). I was interested in the 50th-anniversary collaboration menu of PIZZA-LA that I saw the other day, so I ordered the Margherita-style okonomiyaki (1480 yen). The waitress seemed to be handling everything alone (though there seemed to be another person in the back), and it took about 25 minutes for the dishes to arrive. I didn't realize okonomiyaki would take this long to make (it's been over 10 years since I last had it, so I can't compare). Another 10 minutes later, the okonomiyaki was served. It looked like a cheese-filled okonomiyaki. The taste was more like a pizza, especially with the tomato on top. The sauce added a hint of okonomiyaki flavor to the pizza-like dish. The texture was light and fluffy, thanks to the yam. Adding mayonnaise made it more pizza-like, while adding seaweed, bonito flakes, and sauce enhanced the okonomiyaki flavor. It was a delicious collaboration that satisfied both cravings. The bill was surprisingly fast, and even I, who usually watches YouTube at 1.75x speed, found it amusing. Despite burning the roof of my mouth, I was happy with the tasty okonomiyaki (which I hadn't had in a long time). The collaboration menu is available until the end of July, so if you're interested, hurry to try it.

I went to Ikebukuro for a quick dinner. I couldn't decide what to eat, but ended up at this place because there was no line. When I entered the restaurant, they told me to wait outside. After waiting for a few minutes with no update, I peeked inside again and was told to wait outside. So, it's a restaurant where you have to wait outside. The okonomiyaki was decent, but the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki I ordered was not good at all. Overall, I wouldn't visit this place again.

I have never tried the fluffy and soft Fuwatoro-yaki before, and I was impressed by its texture. The finishing mayonnaise performance was super entertaining! The recommended Tonpeiyaki was also very delicious! It has great cost performance! I found a new favorite okonomiyaki restaurant!

"I went shopping at Seibu Ikebukuro and decided to have lunch at the 8th floor dining park. I was inspired by the review from the manga 'Kodoku no Gourmet' and headed to 'Okonomiyaki Teppanyaki Senbou' restaurant. I was tempted by the paella on the way, but stayed true to my original plan! There was a line of about 5 groups in front of me... (^^;; The thought of the paella without a line crossed my mind... (laughs) After waiting for about 20 minutes, we were seated! I ordered the 'Senbou Mini Salad', 'Tonpei Yaki', and 'Mix Hiroshima Yaki' with 'Negitama on top'. We ran out of bottled beer after the salad and tonpei yaki, so I urgently ordered cold sake! The tonpei yaki was hot, fluffy, and melty♪ The mix Hiroshima yaki was topped with mayonnaise by the staff, cut into pieces, and served. We leisurely enjoyed our meal while drinking, and both dishes were hot, fluffy, and melty until the end♫ Even though it's a restaurant in a department store, we were escorted outside after paying. Lately, I've been craving Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki for some reason. I couldn't resist and went for lunch. It was around 2:30 PM, so the restaurant was empty. I ordered the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki set with a mini salad and a drink. I chose cola for the drink, but first I asked for a draft beer! After a short wait, the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki arrived! It was served on the hot iron plate right in front of me, which was great because I wanted to eat it hot. The staff cut it into 6 pieces and neatly drizzled mayonnaise on top. I dug in immediately. Ah, it's so satisfying to eat something you've been craving. It was delicious! The sweet cabbage was great, and I loved the firm texture of the flat noodles. It was a generous portion! I enjoyed it hot until the very end. I usually frequent Ikebukuro Tobu, but for okonomiyaki, Seibu is definitely the better choice with their hot iron plate service. I'll be back again soon!

Senbou, long time no see!! When I had Kyushu Jangara for lunch, I noticed that there was Senbou next to it! I used to eat Mix Modern Yaki a lot with my girlfriend when I was a student in Osaka. I think that's when I was told that if you add yakisoba, it becomes Modern Yaki. It was served on a hot plate and it was delicious until the end. Thank you (^^)

Qianfang had only been to the restaurant at the Roppongi intersection when she was young and had no memory of it. She chose this restaurant at the Seibu main store 8th floor restaurant area in Ikebukuro for lunch while on a work trip, as there was no wait time. She ordered mixed Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, mixed yakisoba, and spicy hormone? The okonomiyaki had sweet cabbage and was satisfying. The spicy yakisoba was addictive. The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki had a bland taste, possibly due to the vegetables releasing water, so she left it mostly to her companion. Not knowing the correct answer for okonomiyaki, she couldn't say much, but she did realize that okonomiyaki is a cabbage dish.

I had some business in Ikebukuro. I took the Marunouchi Line from Ginza to the last stop. I had a meeting at 3 o'clock, so I wandered around looking for a lunch spot. I ended up at the 8th floor of Seibu Department Store. I was surprised when I arrived. Everywhere was crowded, as if Seibu had won a championship. It seemed like there was some kind of special event going on. I chose a restaurant with a short line because of the lunch rush. I ordered the Chibo set, which included mixed grill and iced coffee. They grilled it for me and brought it to me, so it was easy. Oh no, I just realized I'm going to have monjayaki in Tsukishima next. Well, monjayaki and modanyaki are different types of food, so it's okay. Thank you for the meal!

Ikebukuro Seibu's restaurant area has a okonomiyaki restaurant. I visited for lunch on a weekday. Even on weekdays, the restaurant area at lunchtime is quite busy! Some restaurants are full! It's a chain restaurant that I sometimes see in station-adjacent commercial facilities. It's my first time using it. The inside is small for a department store restaurant, with a casual atmosphere typical of okonomiyaki places. However, looking at the menu, it seems like department store prices! The lunch set on weekdays starts at over ¥1500! I always thought okonomiyaki was a commoner's food, but it's this expensive... Is it because it's in a department store? I wonder if "Senbo" in other locations has different pricing... While thinking about this, I ordered the "Chibo Lunch Set ¥1518" which includes a choice of main dish (mixed okonomiyaki, seafood okonomiyaki, Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, mixed yakisoba, green onion salt yakisoba), salad, and a drink. There were two of us, so we ordered mixed okonomiyaki and Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. First, the salad and drink arrived, and while eating the salad, we waited for the okonomiyaki. There was a hot plate on the table. The staff had already turned it on, so it was warm. I thought it was a style where they bring out the raw okonomiyaki and you cook it yourself, but it didn't come out right away... I thought it was taking a while... but then the cooked okonomiyaki appeared! It was in its plain state, placed on the table's hot plate, and the staff poured sauce and mayonnaise over it and cut it for us! The hot plate on the table was apparently just for keeping it warm. The freshly made hot okonomiyaki had a basic deliciousness. It was thick and fluffy, a characteristic of a specialty store. It might be hard to replicate at home. But it didn't have any special features, and it wasn't incredibly delicious... It's a bit small in size... It feels a bit overpriced, but it's understandable. I used to look forward to going to the spa once a month, but I haven't been able to go because of the coronavirus for a long time. This month, after a very long time, I finally went and had so much to talk about that my plan to have tea afterwards turned into a full-on okonomiyaki feast! I'm not good at cooking it myself (*´Д`*), so I was really happy that the staff cooked it beautifully for me (・∇・) I asked for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki without shrimp, and they even asked if I had allergies and made it without shrimp and sakura shrimp (*´∀`*) Now I can eat it with peace of mind (//∇//) It looked smaller than expected on the menu, but surprisingly filled me up (≧∇≦) That was a pleasant surprise! Thanks to that, I didn't make it to the coffee afterwards... ended up going home a little earlier than planned www All the staff were smiling and providing great customer service with a smile at all times. The menu had a wide variety of options, but we knew we had to try the popular Dotombori-yaki. We also ordered two appetizers while waiting outside - "Oolong tea and cola," "Cheese Tonpei-yaki," "Pork kimchi stir-fry," "Mix modern-yaki," and "Dotombori-yaki." We were served our drinks and appetizers quickly and finished them in no time. We thought we would have to wait a while for the okonomiyaki, but it arrived sooner than expected! Oh, right, we also added a fried egg and fried egg & green onion as toppings for the okonomiyaki. It looks great with a fried egg on top, doesn't it? As for the taste, it was delicious, but I felt that the batter could use a bit more dashi to stand out more against the sauce. Overall, we were satisfied with the food and service. When you feel like eating delicious "yakisoba". Actually, I wanted to eat delicious okonomiyaki, but today it was yakisoba. Chifusa is a slightly upscale okonomiyaki restaurant since my time in Kansai. Many people say it's just expensive. But it has a nice atmosphere, and being able to get okonomiyaki or yakisoba in a teppanyaki style setting was convenient. The memories of eating at the NaviO Hankyu branch or the Dotonbori branch are still vivid. About four or five years ago, Chifusa opened at Ikebukuro Nishiguchi, and Botedju opened in Tobu's restaurant area. Following that, this restaurant also opened. Also, Hachihachi in Tennoji opened on Rikkyo Street. It seems like slowly but surely, Osaka flour-based restaurants are coming to Ikebukuro as well. The "Chibou lunch set - mixed yakisoba" (1,518 yen) + "tonpei-yaki" (748 yen) - as shown in the photo. The Chibou lunch set comes with a salad and a drink. First, the salad and drink arrived. Next, the tonpei-yaki. The tonpei-yaki seemed different depending on the Chifusa branch. It was the softest and fluffiest I've ever had. And then, the yakisoba. It may be a preconception, but it felt like a refined yakisoba. Although I felt a bit uncomfortable seeking refinement in yakisoba, when I actually ate it, I was convinced by the taste. The table items like bonito flakes, seaweed, and mayonnaise that you can use freely were also nice. The roughly shaved bonito flakes gave off a fragrant aroma with the heat of the yakisoba. It's a yakisoba that stands alone as a dish, not one that makes you crave for white rice. This feeling is something that Kansai people would understand. Thank you for the meal. After eating, I felt my throat getting dry, which made me realize once again that it was yakisoba. When I asked for a water refill, they brought a decanter. The service was very attentive. I visited this restaurant located on the restaurant floor of Seibu Department Store Ikebukuro. I lined up at the storefront before entering. The background music in the store was JPOP. I ordered the "Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki" at the counter. It takes about 20 minutes for it to be cooked. They cook it live in front of you. Since it is Hiroshima-style, the noodles are a slightly firm flat udon, different from the yakisoba in Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. The base of the pancake was cooked to perfection, with the seafood not being overcooked, allowing the flavors to be enjoyed.
