On March 17, 2015 (Tuesday) around 8:00 PM, I decided to order from a sushi delivery service that I have used multiple times before. There are several "delivery-only" sushi restaurants in my area, but after trying out different options, I found that this place offers the best combination of taste and price. Interestingly, I discovered that this sushi delivery service is actually owned by the same company as the delivery rice dish service "Kama Tora".
In the past, they used to include discount coupons or free tickets in their menu flyers, but recently they haven't been offering any, so I would rate their service as 2 stars. Like other sushi delivery services, you can customize the standard sushi bucket by changing or adding toppings. The price remains the same for equivalent or lower-priced toppings, while upgrading to more expensive toppings incurs an additional charge.
For this order, I chose the following items:
- Shinano set (includes tuna, squid, shrimp, conger eel, salmon, negitoro gunkan, shrimp mayo gunkan, egg, and cucumber roll 1/2)
- Changed squid to tuna
- Changed salmon to seared tuna
- Additional individual nigiri sushi
- Seasonal limited special extra-large conger eel nigiri
- Seasonal limited saury
- Flounder fin
- Seared scallop
- Shrimp
- Kanpyo roll
- Green tea
The seared menu items at this place are all delicious, especially the seared tuna, which I found tastier than the regular version. In the past, when ordering seasonal limited seared items, they came with options like "grilled salt" or "kabosu vinegar", which enhanced the flavors. This time, I added the seasonal limited special extra-large conger eel nigiri and saury. The conger eel was slightly larger in size but didn't seem exceptionally delicious, while the saury was surprisingly fresh and tasty, especially with the shiso leaf.
Although the sushi rice is clearly machine-made and square-shaped, the overall taste is better than supermarket or convenience store sushi. It's a good option for days when you don't feel like going out due to bad weather. You can choose between a reusable bucket or disposable containers, which can reduce the cheap look when ordering for a group. Today's order total came to 2,806 yen.
