There is a shop on the 2nd floor so I couldn't tell the atmosphere inside, but it was spacious and had a calm feeling. There were many seats and the menu felt extensive. The most delicious dish was the sashimi, and there were also many drinks to enjoy. Personally, I felt that the prices were a bit high.

Before the development of Shitamachi, I think the 2nd floor of the Tsukizenya was a different shop, but since it had changed, I decided to drop by. I visited around 9 pm on a Friday, and it was quite empty... I sat at the counter seat.
<Order>
Appetizer (Mozzarella cheese and mackerel)
Grilled pork belly stew - 790 yen
Cod milt with ponzu sauce - 730 yen
Oolong tea
First, I was a little concerned about the kitchen being quite messy and not well organized... Since I was sitting at the counter seat, it caught my eye even more. The food was neither good nor bad. Thank you for the meal.

I have used this restaurant several times. Originally, it was a normal izakaya, but it has gradually transformed into a place that focuses on local sake (Japanese rice wine) and seafood dishes. They offer a variety of alcoholic beverages besides sake, making it convenient even for those who don't drink sake much. (Of course, they also have non-seafood menu items.) They have many paper menus with a cluttered layout that can be a bit tedious to read (perhaps intentionally done). However, some people may find it enjoyable. It might be better to organize and select the menu more carefully. The dishes are not stingy and most of them are quite good. The appetizers are usually warm (like a stew with sukiyaki or mapo tofu), which feels gentle on the stomach.

Near Kikugawa Station. The place that used to be a tempura skewers restaurant has now become a new izakaya. They have a lunch menu, with dishes like fried chicken, ginger pork, and oyster fry for 800 yen. I ordered the daily special fried chicken and egg over rice. The restaurant is on the second floor, with a counter as soon as you enter and tables in the back. Surprisingly, there were quite a few customers. It seemed a bit chaotic, but there were about four staff members, so maybe they're still getting used to it. My order came out quickly and correctly, which was good! It came with salad, side dishes, pickles, and miso soup, and you can get refills on rice in a small bowl. The fried chicken and egg over rice tasted as expected, but the portion was generous and the rice went down well. Not a bad option for an izakaya lunch. It might be tough to make a profit with lunch in this area, but I hope they work hard and become a staple.
