This is a new store that relocated from Nishi-Nippori last September. The building in Nishi-Nippori was being redeveloped, so they decided to rent a space in a building owned by a Japanese acquaintance who runs a vegetable shop. They plan to gradually increase their product offerings, so there is still some empty space. The item purchased this time is a dry cake made in Bangladesh. Dry cake is a crispy, slightly sweet snack made by drying pound cake, popular in India. It is well-received by Japanese people. In my experience, the sweetness level goes from India (less sweet) to Pakistan to Bangladesh. This Bangladesh dry cake, which comes in a green box and costs about 500 yen, is considered a bit pricey for Bangladesh. It was popular at a tea party, especially among the women who had been staying in Syria for a long time until their children entered junior high school. (The leftovers were taken home by a Pakistani-Japanese lady.) Among the ones I tried, I like the Pakistani products and this brand the most. For those who find Indian sweets too sweet, I highly recommend this. But it's cheaper over there, less than 150 yen!
