Tonight, we had a serious discussion meeting in Ginza and decided to go for safe Japanese cuisine. The restaurant is beautiful, but unfortunately there was construction outside with scaffolding at the entrance. The capacity is spacious underground, with a small counter as well, so it seems like a good place to visit even on short notice. Visited "Private Room Kaiseki Kitaoji Ginza Main Store" located a 6-minute walk from Ginza Station. Made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a weekday. [Today's Menu] ・Fugu and Domestic Black Wagyu Kaiseki ①Appetizers - Simmered conger eel, red sweet tofu, crane pine style, salmon mentaiko yaki, fresh vegetable soak, egg castella, skewers (abalone, crab, ginkgo nuts) ■The presentation and taste of the appetizers are excellent! ②Sashimi - Fugu sashimi, tuna, sweet shrimp, cold mackerel ■Great to have not only fugu sashimi but also tuna and sweet shrimp. ③Main Dish - Fugu hot pot ■Enjoyed the fugu hot pot. ④Grilled Dish - Black Wagyu steak ■Tender with a rich meaty flavor, delicious. ⑤Deep-fried Dish - Fugu tempura ■A must-try menu, the fat attached to the bones is amazing. ⑥Rice Dish - Fugu porridge, pickles, grilled rice cake ■A must-try menu. Fugu porridge is the best! ⑦Dessert - Cream-filled cake, melon, bracken rice cake, strawberry ■Great presentation and taste! Enjoyed every dish until the end.

First visit to the Ginza Honten on Kitaoji Road, a restaurant with completely private rooms, perfect for business entertainment. We had a kaiseki course starting with appetizers, sashimi, followed by nodoguro shabu-shabu, black wagyu steak, bonito tataki, clam and ginger rice, two glasses of beer with Tomino Hozan water, and dessert with tea at the end. The total cost for five people was just under 69,000 yen. The nodoguro shabu-shabu, including the broth, was especially delicious.

I made a reservation for the Seasonal Kaiseki course for 9,350 yen on a weekday at 6:00 pm. The restaurant has two floors, with my private room located on the basement floor. The room was beautifully designed in a traditional Japanese style with a sunken kotatsu table, giving it a luxurious feel. The 7-course Kaiseki meal included a variety of dishes such as seasonal appetizers, sashimi, steamed sea bass with yuba, wagyu sukiyaki, bonito tataki, rice with sea bream and bamboo shoots, and assorted desserts. Each dish was presented beautifully, and the flavors were delightful. The appetizers showcased a variety of seasonal ingredients, while the wagyu sukiyaki was tender and flavorful. The dessert selection included traditional Japanese sweets, Western-style desserts, and fresh fruits, providing a satisfying end to the meal.

I had this course meal and it was delicious with good portion sizes. The black wagyu beef teppanyaki was especially tasty with its thick slices. The female servers in kimonos added a nice touch to the ambiance, but I think they could improve by being a bit more attentive in serving the food and drinks. The restaurant is located underground, but they even escorted me to the entrance on the first floor when I left. Thank you for the meal.

Had a long-awaited dinner with old acquaintances at a slightly upscale restaurant. We chose this place and made a reservation for a sukiyaki kaiseki course. The service and food were both excellent, just as we expected. The highlight was definitely the draft beer. We enjoyed draft beer and sake, but we also wondered if trying a third-world red wine would have been a good idea. The bill came out to a little over 20,000 yen per person, including the sukiyaki kaiseki course, plenty of drinks, and a few extra appetizers. It may seem a bit pricey for a private gathering, but considering everything, it was a reasonable cost.

During the pandemic, Mr. Kitaoji had a long-term closure. It seems like they renovated the place and it looks even more beautiful now. The food was delicious as always, with plenty of high-quality ingredients used. It seems like there are more business dinners happening again. The restaurant was lively. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a Japanese restaurant located on Namiki Street in Ginza 8-chome, which started offering a great lunch deal from July 15th after reopening. The staff, dressed in kimonos, and the background music of koto created a traditional Japanese atmosphere. The restaurant mainly offers private rooms, so even if dining alone, you can enjoy a peaceful meal in a private setting. Today, I ordered the Sukiyaki-style Wagyu hamburger set for ¥1,280 (10% service charge, excluding tax). The meal arrived in about 10 minutes, accompanied by rice, tuna sashimi, mozuku seaweed vinegar, red miso soup, and pickles. The small Wagyu hamburger with a sukiyaki twist was unique. The sauce on the hamburger was a bit on the sweet side, but could be improved with a bit more spiciness. The sashimi and side dishes were all carefully prepared and delicious. Although the combination of hamburger and sukiyaki was unusual, it surprisingly worked well, especially when mixing the runny egg yolk with rice at the end. I finished my meal with a cup of coffee, enjoying a truly relaxing time. The service was attentive, and I had a comfortable dining experience. I would definitely visit again if given the chance. On December 16, 2019, we had a formal work gathering at "Kitaoji" with 5 people. "Kitaoji" is located in Ginza 8-chome along Namiki Street. It is a traditional Japanese restaurant that has been in business for 90 years, offering seasonal dishes in private rooms. This was my fourth visit, but the first time writing about it on my blog! The restaurant is the main branch of a group of 12 stores, all located in the vicinity. The Ginza branch had to temporarily close due to flooding, but reopened with a new look on October 29, 2019. The entrance is on street level, and once inside, you go down a staircase to the front desk and then further down to the basement 2nd floor where we were seated. All the women were dressed in kimonos. Each room is a private dining space. We started with drinks, including draft beer, and enjoyed a variety of dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, grilled black wagyu beef, fried dishes, and a hot pot. We also had a special bottle of sake and finished the meal with a water cake and matcha ice cream dessert. Afterward, we moved on to a second location for more drinks.

I chose this restaurant, which was recently renovated in Ginza, for a rare night out. I ordered the Seasonal Kaiseki Course, which includes 7 dishes for 12,000 yen. The menu consisted of a variety of dishes such as crab sushi, bamboo shoot, simmered abalone, boiled vegetables, yuzu tofu, and salmon with miso sauce. The highlight was the seared wagyu beef wrapped in fresh sea urchin, which was a perfect combination. The red snapper hot pot with shirako and red snapper in a rich broth was also delicious, especially when paired with a sweet potato shochu soda. Overall, I was impressed by the craftsmanship of the traditional Japanese dishes served at this restaurant.

I used it for a banquet. [Appetizer] Salmon sushi, Oyster simmered in kakiage, Grilled kasumi with miso and yuzu, Seaweed roll with komatsuna and sesame, Fried shrimp and taro chips. Nothing stood out, but everything was delicious. [Sashimi] 14 pieces of blowfish. I had never eaten blowfish with a metallic taste before, but this was delicious. [Meat dish] Kobe beef steak with watercress, nagaimo, negi, wasabi greens, and myoga sauce. It was delicious and very tasty. I think it's best to enjoy a little bit of high-quality meat rather than a large quantity. [Simmered dish] Chicken meatballs and turnip simmered in a rich flavor, which brings a sense of relief after a strong taste. [Fried dish] Blowfish tempura. The meat-like texture not found in fish is because it is a bouncy fish. Tempura is still delicious. [Main dish] Blowfish mixed rice, clear soup, and pickles. I was feeling a bit unwell, so I only had a little bit, but it was delicious. [Dessert] Sweet potato ice cream. We enjoyed every dish until the end, but what stood out the most was the excellent service provided by the female staff. She was attentive to the timing of the dishes and drink orders. Thanks to her, we ended up drinking a bit too much! Even when we left, she saw us off, making our time there very pleasant. The service was top-notch!

We used it for our baby's first meal. All rooms are private with sunken kotatsu tables. They have a children's menu and offer a commemorative photo service, providing very attentive service. However, there was no elevator and we had to go down to the basement by stairs, which was a bit difficult with children.

I have visited other stores on Kitaoji Street. The Ginza main store not only has delicious food, but the staff's service is also excellent. I would love to go there again.
