I saw a YouTuber eating something delicious, so I looked it up and found a restaurant in Edo NOREN in front of Ryogoku Station. I wanted to try Shinshu miso, but it seems they don't have it at the Ryogoku store. I was torn between Edo miso and Hokkaido miso, but I ended up choosing Hokkaido miso. It was Hokkaido miso ramen with miso-marinated char siu and marinated egg toppings. It cost 1500 yen, which is quite expensive. The sweet and spicy miso was very delicious, and the char siu was thick and fragrant. They also had condiments like shichimi and ground chili miso to adjust the spiciness, so I enjoyed it until the end without getting tired of it. Next time, I will try the Edo miso!

The Edo Negi Miso Ramen was around 1000 yen. It had plenty of leeks, bean sprouts, minced pork, finely chopped chashu, and even clams. The miso was rich and sweet, very delicious! It paired well with shichimi, so I sprinkled it on halfway through eating.

I visited on a Sunday. There was a bit of a wait to get in. The spicy miso ramen had a nice level of spiciness and a rich miso flavor, it was delicious. The mini chashu rice bowl had a generous amount of meat and was very satisfying. They seemed to have increased the amount of meat for a limited time. I also used the chili bean paste on the table, and enjoyed the meal until the end.

Around 1:00 PM on a Tuesday in July, I visited a ramen restaurant. The four counter seats were brightly lit, making them stand out. It wasn't too crowded as it was midday, but customers kept coming in sporadically. I ordered a spicy miso ramen for 870 yen and a vegetable stir-fry for 500 yen (excluding tax). It was the restaurant's second anniversary, so I got a free choice of either seared chashu, seasoned egg, rice, or something else that I can't quite remember. I chose the chashu. The ramen had a delicious aroma of miso and the spicy kick was really tasty. The noodles were chewy and curly, and they soaked up the miso flavor well. I couldn't stop eating. The vegetable stir-fry turned out to be miso stir-fry, with crunchy and tasty vegetables. As I continued eating, the flavors became stronger and I felt like having some rice to balance it out. The ramen was delicious, but it was quite salty, so I realized it's the type of place I should only visit occasionally, especially considering my high blood pressure. They accept PayPay.

When I searched for the location on Google Maps, it seemed like it was inside some kind of facility and I was like "Huh? Where?" But it turned out to be inside a facility with a restaurant near the station! They also served Kaga miso ramen, but I tried Edo-style miso for the first time. It was delicious!

I visited a restaurant in both countries and decided to have lunch around noon. I was looking for a ramen place, just casually. As I was about to enter, I was asked to write my name for some reason, and after a few minutes of waiting, my name was called and I was seated. Looking at the menu, I saw they had Edo-style sweet miso and Sapporo-style rich miso ramen, so my companion and I ordered one of each along with a draft beer. Shortly after, the beer arrived but we noticed we didn't have water or wet towels yet, so we asked for them. About 10 minutes later, the ramen was served. When we tried it, we noticed that the temperature was a bit low, maybe to make it easier to eat after being made? The noodles were quite soft, perhaps catering to those with dental issues. The flavor of the soup was subtle, with a focus on miso rather than dashi. The Edo-style miso ramen had a strong sweetness, almost to the point of being too much. My companion couldn't finish all of theirs, so we asked for a plate to share, which they kindly provided. Overall, it felt more like experiencing a touristy restaurant in a sightseeing area rather than enjoying authentic Tokyo-style ramen from the downtown area.

As soon as you leave Ryogoku Station and head towards the Kokugikan, you will find Edo NOREN located nearby. This restaurant is a chain known for its miso ramen, which I have tried a few times before. On this day, I visited for dinner after watching sumo matches. After a short wait, I was seated at a table inside the restaurant. The miso ramen at this place comes in different flavors, such as Hokkaido, Edo-style, Shinshu, and Kyushu. I was originally planning to try the Shinshu flavor, but I could only find Hokkaido and Edo-style options on the menu, so I chose the slightly sweet Edo-style miso ramen with pork and green onions. I started with a glass of draft beer. When the ramen arrived, I noticed it was topped with plenty of green onions, which added a delicious flavor. The broth was sweeter than I expected, and the noodles had a traditional taste of a miso ramen you would find in a local neighborhood. The unique feature of the Edo-style ramen is the addition of clams in the toppings. I think Hokkaido ramen comes with potato fries, Shinshu ramen with mountain vegetables, and Kyushu ramen with sweet potato tempura. The portion size of the miso ramen was quite generous, and I ended up adding some chili bean paste to make it spicier and finished every last bit. Although it may seem a bit pricey, the portion size was satisfying, and overall, I left the restaurant feeling content.

I found a ramen shop near Ryogoku Station where I have ordered from using UberEATS before. The shop looks new and very clean. I ordered the Hokkaido miso ramen with seared chashu. The seared chashu had a wonderful aroma and was delicious! The ramen had medium-thick curly noodles typical of Hokkaido, with a rich miso flavor that was very tasty. It's not cheap, but if you get three slices of chashu for around 1200 yen, it's worth it. I decided that if I want miso ramen in Tokyo, I will come here. Thank you for the meal.

JR Ryogoku Station West Exit, a former station building that opened on November 25, 2016 - Ryogoku Edo NOREN. With the concept of "Enjoying the sophisticated Edo food culture," originally 12 Japanese restaurants gathered. However, due to the influence of the coronavirus, 7 stores withdrew. New additions include Menjo Tadokoro and Tsukuda Takisaburo, and currently 7 stores are operating. Now, the new face at Ryogoku Edo NOREN that joined in July 2021 is Menjo Tadokoro. With 156 stores in Japan and 11 stores overseas (as of December 2022), Try International is actively expanding its stores even during the pandemic. "MISOYA" New York store has been listed in the NY Michelin Guide for 5 consecutive years since 2013. I stopped by on a holiday afternoon around 3 pm. In front of the store, there is a signboard of "Edo-style miso." "Edo-style miso" was developed as a miso that combines the umami of Hachomiso from Mikawa, the hometown of the shogun family in the old days when Tokyo was called Edo, and the elegance of shiromiso from Kyoto. It is a product with a smooth and refreshing sweetness using plenty of rice koji. The menu had two options: Edo-style miso ramen and Hokkaido miso ramen, so I ordered Edo-style miso ramen (869 yen). Edo-style miso ramen is a ramen for Edoites with a light-colored soup topped with large seaweed and clams. The soup made with plenty of koji miso, with a slightly sweet taste, is delicious. I enjoyed it while melting the meat miso in the center.

A friend recommended me to visit Tanjo Shoten for the first time. I wanted to try their barley miso ramen, but it seems like they didn't have it at this location (oops!). Instead, I ordered the Hokkaido miso vegetable ramen with potatoes on top and a mini chashu rice bowl after seeing the tableside menu. The miso flavor was rich but not too salty, so I enjoyed it until the last bite. The texture of the vegetables was also great! I forgot to take a picture, but the mini chashu rice bowl was very generous with white leeks on top. It was so delicious, but I ended up leaving a little rice because I was already full. Sorry about that. Thank you for the meal!

Last week, I might have come here again. Today, I tried the Powder Snow Ramen Miso Ramen with cheese. I don't like powdered cheese because it smells like milk, but this one is from Hokkaido so I gave it a try. First, I took a few sips of the soup with cheese on top and it was delicious. Then I ate some potatoes and mixed the cheese with the noodles. It was creamy and mellow. Delicious, warming. When I almost finished the noodles, I noticed something stringy. The cheese had melted! Powdered cheese from the store doesn't melt, right? Hokkaido cheese is really amazing. Today's meal was great again.

I was feeling hungry and thinking of a good place to eat when I suddenly remembered and decided to come to Ryogoku. I had seen a sign there before and tried to visit, but it was closed. I found a place called "Tadokoro Shoten" and remembered going to a shop in Honjo-Hachiman before, so I entered without hesitation. I ordered the richly grilled ramen with extra green onions and egg topping. I took a photo, but it didn't save properly, and the foreign staff who served me chuckled. I apologize for not having a photo with lots of green onions. I enjoyed the ramen, especially when I pushed the chashu down into the broth. The noodles got a bit stretchy because I slurped them eagerly, and the couple next to me noticed (maybe they wanted to try it too). I accidentally splashed broth on my handkerchief while eating. It was so delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the great meal!

It's been a while since I visited the Tokyo headquarters. I had lunch near Ryogoku Station, where the headquarters is located. I didn't have much time, so I decided to have ramen. I remembered there is a place called Edo NOREN attached to Ryogoku Station, but I haven't been there in a while. So, around 1:30 pm on a weekday, I decided to visit. Misomaru Ramen is famous there, but I've had plenty of miso ramen in Hokkaido. Let's try the miso ramen that Tokyo has to offer. I ordered the Hokkaido miso and super butter ramen for 979 yen. It arrived shortly after ordering. It was filled with a nice aroma of butter. Surprisingly, there were two pieces of fried potato in it... Although the butter, miso, and curly noodles went well together, the fried potatoes felt a bit out of place. Thank you for the meal!

It has been a few years since the facility "Edo NOREN" adjacent to Ryogoku Station opened. Due to the pandemic, I had never visited before, so I decided to go. There is a sumo ring in the center, surrounded by restaurants with an Edo-style atmosphere. I chose a miso ramen specialty shop this time. Since it was my first time, I went with the Edo-style miso meat and green onion ramen. I also ordered the lunch set with gyoza. I had imagined that Edo-style miso would be salty, but the soup was slightly sweet. It had a rich flavor and was delicious. However, as I continued eating the ramen, I felt that the soup was a bit weak. It seemed to be overpowered by the noodles. Personally, I would prefer a stronger flavor. The soup is delicious on its own. Also, the large sheet of seaweed may look good for photos, but it was difficult to eat.

Located in the Edo NOREN dining area right next to Ryogoku Station, this restaurant was bustling with customers even during this season. We had to wait a bit before being seated. It was my first time here, so I ordered the Edo-style miso seared chashu ramen. The unique miso flavor was delicious.

Today and tomorrow, they are having a 1st anniversary appreciation festival. I had the Edo-style red miso ramen with ajitama for ¥550, which is not usually on the menu. It came with a large sheet of nori, bean sprouts, ground meat, and because it's Edo-style, it had asari clams in it. It was delicious, but the flavor got a bit boring after a while.

Today, I had plans in Tokyo and felt like having ramen for lunch, so I searched for a ramen shop nearby and decided to visit Menya Tadokoro Shoten Edo NOREN store located right near the station! I arrived at the shop just a minute's walk from JR Ryogoku Station! It was a weekday lunchtime, so the shop was a bit crowded, but I was able to enter without waiting! I ordered the "Hokkaido Miso Aburi Chashu Ramen" for 1,130 yen, which is the shop's most popular item! The ramen had a very rich miso soup with miso-marinated aburi chashu (seared pork slices), minced meat, bean sprouts, and even pride potatoes, which I had never seen in ramen before. The chashu was thick, tender, and delicious, and the curly noodles were well-coated with the soup and ingredients. It was a miso ramen experience like no other I've had before, and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of Hokkaido in every bite! I highly recommend you to visit this place and try it out for yourself!

I visited around 12:00 on a regular day. There was no wait and I was seated right away. Despite sanitizing my hands with alcohol, I was asked to confirm it multiple times, which was a bit bothersome. They had Sapporo miso and Edomae miso, so this time I ordered Negi Edomae miso with a miso-marinated chashu topping and a gyoza set. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The miso ramen was sweet and light in flavor, not too strong, so it would be popular with women. The noodles were chewy and satisfying. The chashu was perfectly miso-marinated, complementing the ramen well. I was instructed to eat the gyoza with vinegar miso instead of soy sauce, and it was a new and delicious way to enjoy gyoza. By the time I left, there was a line forming, with even solo female diners. I look forward to trying the Sapporo miso next time. Thank you for the delicious miso ramen.

Hello, I'm a foodie Mintz (@mintz). I used to love miso ramen. I think it originated from miso soup. After that, I learned about the various types of ramen, but I still crave miso ramen. I heard that a delicious miso ramen shop opened in Ryogoku called Edo NOREN, so I decided to go try it out. The rich miso ramen was delicious! The ramen shop is called Tadokoro Shoten. I found out that it is a chain store, but it was my first time trying it. I also like green onions, so I tried the green onion miso ramen. The soup was rich and very tasty. The noodles were medium thickness and mixed well with the soup. The green onions were crunchy. Adding spicy miso halfway through eating and changing the flavor made it even more delicious. Personally, I like to add vinegar, so it was great that they had it. I would like to go back if I have the opportunity. Thank you for reading until the end! After coming back from the bank in both countries, it was past 3pm and there were few ramen shops open, but I managed to find this one. Currently, many shops with Edo-style curtains were closed, but this one was the only one still open. There were no other customers, so I sat at an empty table and ordered the Hokkaido miso seared pork belly ramen with a seasoned egg topping. The pork belly was tender and thick, with three slices, and it was topped with fried potatoes, fried onions, and bean sprouts. The soup was quite rich and had a miso flavor, and the noodles were medium-thick curly noodles that paired well with the soup.

After returning from Yugawara, I stopped by the Kokugikan for lunch at a ramen restaurant. It's conveniently located, with the main branch in Chiba perhaps. I tried the miso ramen with rich vegetables, which was served piping hot within 10 minutes. The soup was flavorful but not too salty, with cabbage and two pieces of French fries as toppings. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the feast. I then started watching sumo matches.
