I visited for the first time! I wasn't sure how to order, so I just went with my gut feeling! I wanted to try freshly made yuba, so I ordered the extreme course with pulled-up yuba ♡ I also wanted to try freshly made tofu, so I thought about adding the two-color ankake fukutofu as a single item, but they said they couldn't do it because they only had one IH stove! What a shame... Here is the content of the course:
- Mineoka Tofu: It was moist and had a rich taste like cream cheese ♡ The green sauce on top was miso-flavored!
- Yuba simmered: Soft yuba with yuzu pepper on top as a nice accent ♡
- Ohitashi: I'm not sure what the ohitashi was made of.
- Sesame Tofu (not part of the course): Sesame tofu with a bouncy texture that you can feel the sesame seeds in ♡
- Chawanmushi: Soft and jiggly ♡ Just as I imagined it to be ♡
- Sashimi: Tuna and yamaimo
- Crab shumai: A fluffy and large shumai!
- Oshinogi taro: It was like a mochi-like dumpling!
- Saikyo-grilled cod (not part of the course): Since I ordered meat in the course, I also ordered the Saikyo-grilled cod as a single item ♡
- Tempura assortment: Shrimp, bamboo shoots, and snap peas! It was crispy and delicious ♡
- Nabe (hot pot): I chose the pulled-up yuba! I heard you can only take it about 3 or 4 times, but I managed to take it 8 times ♡ I was able to eat freshly made yuba heated in soy milk ♡
- Namafu dango: It was my first time trying namafu dango, with a firm outer layer and a chewy inside like mochi ♡
- Yuba tempura: Yuba wrapped around tofu and deep-fried in oil, so the crispy and fluffy texture was enjoyable ♡ It also came with lemon, so when I tried squeezing it on top, it completely changed the taste!
- Wagyu beef lava grill or Fish Saikyo grill: I chose the wagyu beef! The meat was delicious ♡
- Yuba suimono: Yuba soup, my first time trying it!
- Rice dish: It was shrimp and bamboo shoot rice! There was only one small piece of bamboo shoot in mine.
- Pickles
- Dessert: I chose ice cream with black honey and kinako topping! Overall, it was delicious! The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, but the waitress didn't seem to know the menu well, and there was a lack of communication when I asked questions. She also didn't explain the dishes, so that was a bit disappointing. However, there was one staff member who served us once and explained everything clearly, so maybe it was just the assigned waitress who wasn't a good fit? All the rooms were private, and I really liked most of the dishes, so if the service was better, I would have rated it 3.5! Among all the dishes, I especially enjoyed the Mineoka tofu, namafu dango, and pulled-up yuba ♡ Thank you for the meal ♡
