Located just to the left as you exit from the JR exit under Komagome Station. Take the stairs up to the second floor. While there are no private rooms, the seating is divided into booths. They offer a variety of kalbi options, including thick-cut beef kalbi with shiitake mushrooms in a red miso sauce, hormone (offal), chicken meat, sakura yukke (raw beef), pig's feet yukke, and kalbi ramen. It's fun to try a variety of dishes, with a focus on kalbi and ramen. The charcoal grill adds a wonderful flavor. The service staff are excellent and even change the grill for you.

This is a restaurant review for a yakiniku chain near Komagome Station on the JR Line. I went there for dinner with a friend and we ordered the restaurant's recommended "Gyushige Special Course". The course included various types of meat such as premium tongue, fatty kalbi, domestic beef kalbi, loin, harami, skirt steak, chicken thigh, and the chef's recommended hormone of the day. The course also came with kimchi, namul, lettuce, seasoned green onions, rice, and almond jelly for dessert. It was a very satisfying meal with delicious meat, and it was a luxurious treat for us. Yakiniku is always a good choice for a meal.

About 7 years ago, I worked in Komagome on secondment for about a year and a half, so it's a nostalgic place for me. I received an invitation to drink in Komagome from a certain person who used to work with me and is now a company president. I was happy. The restaurant is located 20 meters to the left after exiting the Komagome Station Ueno-bound ticket gate. It hasn't been open for a year yet. There were no reviews. When I tried to toast with a draft beer, the inside of the restaurant suddenly went dark... It seemed like the circuit breaker had tripped. It took almost 3 minutes to restore power, and I was worried about what would happen, but the lights came back on and everything was fine. To be clear, it's cheap! And delicious! (It seems to be part of a chain expanding in the Tokyo area and surrounding prefectures.) They offer all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink menus, which are great for growing appetites. The hormone (offal) is thick and grilled on a charcoal brazier, so it has a unique taste. With prices starting at around 390 yen, you can order with confidence. The seats have high partitions, so you can enjoy your meal with a sense of privacy. Thank you for the meal. I'm full.

Yakiniku Gyushige is a chain restaurant located just a 1-minute walk from the Yamanote Line platform at Komagome Station. While there are many yakiniku restaurants in Komagome, Gyushige is a good choice with a drink all-you-can option for around 1000 yen. It's great for enjoying drinks and some grilled food cooked over charcoal. If you're looking for high-quality meat, you might want to try somewhere else, but Gyushige offers a satisfying experience at a reasonable price, especially for salarymen.

I really wanted to go to Gyu-Kaku, but the one in Nishi-Nippori was full. There wasn't one in Tabata, so I went to Komagome and couldn't find it, so I ended up going to Gyu-Shige that caught my eye. I had been there when I lived in Tobu Nerima. I remember being surprised by the much higher quality of meat compared to Stamina Taro or Anrakutei. The restaurant was spacious and quiet, a really cozy yakiniku place. But that was about five years ago. The tongue was tough... The kalbi was hard... There was no tasty meat at all... The tongue was really disappointing. The tables and chairs were wooden, with very narrow chairs and straight backrests, so no matter how you sit, it's uncomfortable. The reason for the long 120-minute all-you-can-eat time is because the food comes out so slowly. It's really slow. It feels like all the staff are rookie part-timers, that's how slow they are. The water took over 10 minutes to come, and when I ordered it again, they brought me lukewarm tap water with ice. I bought water from a vending machine as soon as I left the restaurant. It's over, I'm not going back.

On May 22, 2015 (Friday) at 5:00 PM, I revisited the restaurant for another round of their half-price sale. This time, it was extremely quiet with only me as the customer until after 6:00 PM when a group of four finally arrived. I chose the 120-minute all-you-can-drink alcohol option (excluding beer) and started with a lemon sour. The alcohol was served with a timer set for 120 minutes. The meat was not exceptional, but the alcohol (shochu highball) was surprisingly good for a chain restaurant. I also enjoyed the variety of cocktails available, including a decent gin and tonic. Unlike another popular yakiniku chain, where the alcohol options are limited, here the drink choices were quite satisfying. The half-price deal also applied to one drink item, so I tried the red wine this time, although it wasn't to my liking. I prefer beer or shochu highball, which unfortunately were not included in the half-price offer. Moving on to the food, I started with my favorite, pig trotters. Despite some people saying it tastes only like miso, I find the flavor of the pork delicious, especially the collagen-rich skin and chewy tendons. The small size option was perfect for dining alone. After finishing the pig trotters, I proceeded to the yakiniku section and ordered various meats at half price. The black pork ribs were mediocre and a bit tough, while the chicken ribs were decent but the basil flavor was overwhelming. The regular kalbi was the safest choice. I also had a gin and tonic as a break and enjoyed the refreshing pickled radish salad. Instead of the usual bibimbap, I opted for the vegetable and egg cup rice this time, which was similar but equally satisfying. To end the meal, I had a melon milk as a dessert, taking advantage of the all-you-can-drink option. Overall, it was a satisfying meal with a good selection of drinks and decent meat options at half price.

Located just a few seconds' walk from Komagome Station East Exit, this is my favorite restaurant where you can enjoy yakiniku on a charcoal grill at an affordable price. It used to be always empty when it first opened, and I used to visit often, but recently it's been crowded and hard to get a seat. However, a half-price sale after a long time! And there are empty seats?! So I decided to go in! Meat, meat, meat - I'm sorry I only come when it's half price, but what can I do. This half-price sale is irregular, but it's held about every 1.5 months, so it's a shame to come on a normal day... The half-price menu changes depending on the time, and the options are limited, but if you stick to the discounted items, you can eat and drink to your heart's content for less than 2000 yen per person every time. Even without the half-price discount, it's already quite cheap, so it's wise not to order the all-you-can-eat option for around 3000 yen unless you're a big eater. Many first-time customers seem to order the all-you-can-eat option at a surprisingly high rate... I wonder if it's too much trouble for them? There are many wealthy people in Komagome, so maybe they don't bother with such small change? Well, this time, my favorite Genki Kalbi is on the half-price menu! It's thickly cut and feels like THE meat, even though it's kalbi, it's not too fatty so you can easily eat it up. In the past, the Genki Kalbi and Harami were on the menu, but recently, thinly sliced kalbi and pork kalbi have become regulars on the half-price menu. Both have a lot of fat and are heavy, so maybe it's the restaurant's strategy...? They're not high-quality meats, but they're processed carefully and are tender without any sinew or odor compared to other similar-priced restaurants. Also, you can enjoy them grilled on charcoal at a shichirin, which adds to the deliciousness. Prices have increased by an average of about 10% starting this month (February 2015), but it's still quite cheap, so I'm sure I'll continue to visit. I hope they continue the half-price sale in the future!!
