I ordered the liver and leek set meal with 3 meat dumplings. I like the fried liver in this dish, but here they boiled it and stir-fried it together. The leeks and bean sprouts were crunchy, which was good, but slightly disappointing. The dumplings had thick and chewy skin, with a slightly raw feeling in the filling. This might be the style of these dumplings.

I had the daily special liver and leek with dumplings set meal. The portion was so big that I couldn't help but say "huh?" after they brought it out. The waitress seemed to be working hard, but she kept forgetting our orders. However, the food was delicious, so I didn't mind the mix-ups too much.

Located in the basement of Hibiya International Building, this place is always bustling with customers, mainly due to its popular dumplings. I decided to drop by and luckily found an available table in the midst of the crowd. I confidently entered and ordered the recommended dumplings: - Original dumplings, large serving of 16 pieces - Black pork dumplings, large serving of 12 pieces - Leek miso dumplings, regular serving of 8 pieces The presentation of the dumplings was impressive. I didn't hold back and enjoyed them with some beer. The original dumplings were a bit small, while the black pork dumplings were generously filled and juicy, which I preferred. - Eggplant with sansho pepper tempura: Once you try it, you'll be hooked. Crispy, juicy, with the scent of sansho pepper. - Leek and grilled pork with spicy miso dressing: Perfect as a snack. I didn't stay long and left the bustling restaurant feeling satisfied.

We visited the restaurant with 5 people before noon on a weekday. We were able to get in smoothly because it was early, but it tends to get crowded after 12 o'clock. I hadn't found a menu item that I really liked personally, but based on my senior's recommendation, I ordered the black pork dumplings set meal today. It took longer to come out than the other dishes ordered by my companions, but these dumplings were quite good. Unlike the vegetable dumplings I've had before, each dumpling was large and had a chewy skin. I ordered the medium size with 9 dumplings, but I ended up feeling very full by the end and had a hard time finishing them.

I visited the restaurant around 12:30 on a regular day. The place was almost full but I managed to get a table when others left. I noticed some tables where the food hadn't arrived yet, and people seemed a bit unhappy. I ordered the saliva chicken and half gyoza set and waited for a while. The saliva chicken arrived after about 10 minutes, and the gyoza came about 5 minutes later. The gyoza looked soft and unappetizing, quite disappointing compared to a restaurant in Ichigaya. The sauce for the saliva chicken was tasty, but it felt like a waste. The timing of serving the dishes was off, and it created an awkward atmosphere as not everyone's food arrived at the same time. I paid with PayPay. I don't think I will visit again.

2022.07.23 (Saturday) Sunny First visit 13:18 Entered the store Prior customers: 3 Later customers: 1 13:24 Ordered Tanmen: 800 yen I visited looking for Tanmen on my way to work. I entered the store and sat at a vacant 4-person table. I checked the menu and ordered the "Tanmen". A continental female staff member brought me water, and I placed my order. The table was equipped with soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, ponzu sauce, spicy miso, and coarse ground black pepper. A morning news program from TV Asahi was playing on the television. There were posters on the wall featuring the restaurant being covered in the media. The food was served in about 6 minutes. The noodles were thin, yellow, curly, medium-thick noodles. They were cooked perfectly, with a chewy and elastic texture. The ingredients included pork, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, leeks, and wood ear mushrooms. The ingredients such as pork and vegetables were stir-fried quickly and placed on top without being mixed with the soup. The pork was diced shoulder loin, with a firm texture and a slightly bland taste. The cabbage, bean sprouts, and onions were crunchy with a light coating of oil on the surface. The carrots were slightly firm. The leeks had a weak flavor and lacked presence. The amount of vegetables exceeded 300g, providing a substantial volume. The wood ear mushrooms had a pleasant chewy and elastic texture. The soup was a milky white, salty broth made primarily from pork bones, chicken bones, and aromatic vegetables. The umami of the broth was somewhat lacking, giving it a commercial pre-made soup-like taste. The saltiness could have been a bit stronger, considering the abundance of vegetables. Also, not simmering the ingredients like vegetables led to a lack of unity in the dish. There was a moderate amount of oil, giving a slightly crispy and fragrant touch from high-temperature cooking. I finished the noodles and ingredients completely, leaving about 60% of the soup, paid the bill, and left the store. Overall, the dish had a generous amount of vegetables and a good volume. The noodles were decent. The soup could use more umami components. The service was polite and the restaurant had a clean and comfortable atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

I went to this gyoza chain restaurant in Hibiya because the shop I originally wanted to visit had a long line. I ordered the black pork gyoza set for ¥800. Despite not being very crowded, the staff seemed rushed. I had a bad feeling. As expected, it took 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The black pork gyoza had a chewy skin with a crispy texture, but the filling was finely chopped, lacking in texture. Also, the rice had been cooked for a while and was not great. Well, it was as I expected, a disappointing set meal. I finished it in 3 minutes and left since I was running out of time. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo, Uchisaiwaicho. A popular Chinese restaurant among salarymen. The specialty of this place is their dumplings, but they also have a variety of set lunch menus with soup noodles. The lunch set at the renowned dumpling shop "Tenko Gyoza-Bo" is the Chicken Soba (with black pork dumplings) for 990 yen. While the dumpling rice is good, what caught my attention were the various noodle sets. Among them, the Chicken Soba, which is irresistible for those who love green onions, looked delicious! With dumplings included in the set, it's a bonus to be able to enjoy them as well. About 10 minutes after ordering, the Chicken Soba set arrived as expected! The clear salty soup with finely sliced chicken and green onions. Lots of black pepper visible on the surface of the soup. I took a sip of this delicious-looking soup first. The light soup has a delicious saltiness that you can keep drinking. The punch of the pepper and the umami of the salt are overflowing. The green onions sautéed together with the chicken have just the right amount of oil and a delicious spiciness. The noodles are soft and thin, with a chewy texture that blends well with the soup. The large dumplings, even just 3 of them, are very filling. I enjoyed them with vinegar and pepper, but the dumplings, with a well-seasoned filling, are best with vinegar and pepper. The thick, chewy skin is filled with the umami of black pork juices. Truly living up to their reputation as a dumpling specialty shop. A satisfying lunch with delicious dumplings and Chicken Soba that green onion lovers will adore!

Today, I visited this place for the first time. I saw a sign promoting it because I had seen it on TV when I passed by before. I was seated and decided to order the "Miso Ramen with half an order of original gyoza." A few customers started to come in. After a while, the "Miso Ramen" was served, and I was surprised by the amount of vegetables. I wasn't sure if I could finish it all. And the "gyoza" was yet to come. The "half order of original gyoza" arrived, which was small-sized and helped me out. I took a sip of the soup and found it quite tasty. As mentioned, the vegetables were piled high. The noodles were medium-thick and had a good chew to them. The gyoza was just average. I couldn't finish the meal due to the large portion. Overall, it was just "so-so." Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant around 12:30. The interior had a typical Chinese restaurant feel. I ordered the Original Gyoza with Ankake Soba (940 yen). I was really craving for ankake soba. It was served in about 10 minutes. The ankake soba had a lot of vegetables and was quite filling. Both the ankake and soba were delicious. The gyoza had a strong garlic flavor and was satisfying to eat. The restaurant seemed to cater to Japanese tastes, and the food was decent but not outstanding.

At lunchtime, I was walking around the basement of the Hibiya International Building wondering what to eat, and ended up in a restaurant called "Tenko Gyoza-Bo Hibiya Store". Since it was my first time there, I decided to order the "Ankake Katayaki Soba 770 yen" that was at the beginning of the menu. The Chinese food came out really quickly, but it looked different from the picture on the menu... It was mostly just vegetables with some thickened sauce. As expected, it tasted like vegetables with starch. It was quite filling, but I realized after ordering that they had a daily special set menu, which I should have ordered instead...

I went to Hibi-Koku Chikashita, the underground dining area in Nishi-Shinjuku, for Saturday lunch. I chose a restaurant that was featured on a popular TV show, and opted for the daily lunch specials which included shrimp and egg in chili sauce, leek and minced meat mapo tofu, and Hoi-Koro for 860 yen (excluding tax), with half an order of original gyoza included. I chose the leek and minced meat mapo tofu lunch, which also came with half a serving of original gyoza. I noticed on the back of the menu that there were various gyoza set meals available, and regretted not choosing one of those. The lunch arrived in 12 minutes. The leek and minced meat mapo tofu lunch came with a small portion of rice, soup, and had a stir-fried bean sprout appearance. Although it lacked the traditional mapo tofu flavor, it went well with the rice. I used the various condiments on the table, such as pepper, ponzu sauce, and spicy miso. The gyoza, which was supposed to be a specialty, did not meet my expectations.

I had a sudden craving for dumplings after watching a TV variety show featuring them the day before. I couldn't resist and ended up coming here for lunch. I ordered the original vegetable dumpling set meal (regular size) for ¥690. It came with 8 dumplings, white rice, and soup, a simple yet satisfying meal. The dumplings were delicious and didn't have a strong smell, so I was able to enjoy my afternoon work without any problems.

Cold noodle challenge. This one was with sesame sauce, priced at ¥860. It was the first time I saw harusame (bean starch vermicelli) in the toppings. The main noodles were thin but overcooked, turning into a clump that was challenging to separate with chopsticks. The cold chicken soba here is actually quite delicious, so it was disappointing.

It wasn't a good idea to go alone during busy hours. There were no condiments or napkins within reach, and I had to share a table. The vegetable-filled ankake ramen was delicious, but I won't go during busy times again. I should have waited for soy sauce before eating the gyoza. It would have been even tastier if they were hot. I wish the staff paid more attention to customers ordering soy sauce and gyoza. The group next to me kept adding vinegar to their ankake yakisoba, so I felt hesitant to ask for it.

In January 2019, I visited a restaurant located at the very back of Gourmet Town's underground area, known for its delicious dumplings. When I went there later in the evening, it was empty. I ordered black pork dumplings and tantan noodles. The tantan noodles were surprisingly large, served in a bowl with plenty of vegetables and well-seasoned. The black pork dumplings were juicy and full of flavor. They were delicious! You can also choose from a variety of dumplings, so I would like to try a different menu next time. It's a bit far from my office, but definitely worth a visit. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I was looking for a place to have lunch around Nishi-Shimbashi Square, and after wandering around the neighboring buildings, I couldn't decide and ended up coming to this building. It's been a while since I last came here, and I discovered a new Chinese restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. The menu mainly consisted of noodle dishes or gyoza set meals. Since I had a meeting in the afternoon, I decided to pass on the gyoza. I ordered the mapo tofu (a la carte) for around 1200 yen and the vegetable ramen with sauce for around 800 yen. I don't remember the exact prices, but the total came out to 2040 yen for both dishes. The mapo tofu looked like authentic Szechuan cuisine from "Taste" in Nishi-Shimbashi, but it was more like a Japanese-style dish with a strong starchy sauce, despite being labeled as "spicy." It turned out to be quite spicy and came in a big bowl. I asked my friend for help, but even they couldn't handle the spiciness. The vegetable ramen my friend ordered was served in a large bowl with plenty of vegetables. The seasoning was light, but the flavor was just right, not too strong or too weak. I tried to balance the spiciness of the mapo tofu with the soup from the ramen, but I couldn't stop sweating. Looking at the evening menu, although not cheap, the dishes looked delicious, so I would like to come back for dinner sometime.

I ordered the liver and leek set meal with 4 vegetable dumplings for 1000 yen. It was slow. I waited eagerly and first the dumplings arrived. I asked about the liver and leek dish, and they said they were still making it. When it finally arrived, it was cold. Not just lukewarm, but cold. Has it been sitting for 20 minutes? Looking around, I noticed other customers who ordered the same thing were also waiting a long time, or their orders hadn't arrived yet. Unfortunately, I won't be visiting this place again.

Here at Tenko Gyoza-Bo, when I checked their website, this location in Hibiya is not listed in the store introduction section (as of December 6, 2021). I wonder if this branch is not officially recognized by the main store? However, inside and outside the store, there are many articles from TV coverage and magazines featuring the main store in Kanda, and even the font of the store name is exactly the same, so it doesn't seem like an unauthorized copycat store. I recently had the daily lunch special, which on Mondays is shrimp and egg stir-fried with chili sauce, priced at 940 yen including tax. It's a bit on the higher side, but considering that it comes with 4 gyoza, the price seems reasonable. As for the taste, it was what I expected from a typical Chinese restaurant in the city. The gyoza had a chewy skin with a flavorful filling of chives. The egg was cooked in a way that can't be replicated at home, with a slightly runny texture from high heat cooking. The spiciness level was low, so I added some spicy miso, chili oil, and vinegar from the condiments on the table. It had that classic city Chinese restaurant vibe. I haven't been to the main store in Kanda, so I can't make a comparison.
