Lastly, "Lemon & Cream Cheese," surprisingly, the lemon bitterness is prominent in this product. Since it uses cream cheese, it might be the most dessert-like among the three. When we passed by, they were offering samples, but when we went in, they moved to another area and started giving out samples a little further away from the store. I thought it was a bit rude, but oh well. As we were looking at the products, two foreign families came next to us, and the male staff member came back and started offering samples in English with a smile. He even offered samples to the kids and started offering different flavors. He completely ignored us, which was surprising as I have never seen such sample sales approach in any Japanese store before. My friend who came to Tokyo after a long time was interested in the strawberry flavor, so I asked for a sample and we got it. But right away, he asked, "How much are you looking to spend?" When I said I hadn't decided yet, he quickly asked, "What will you be using it for?" His questioning tone felt like he was implying, "You're not going to buy, are you?" I was hesitating on what to do when the staff offered me a sample. Phew. There were two types of cheese cookies that I was interested in. One was Gorgonzola and the other was Porcini. I thought the Porcini one might be good as a snack with alcohol, but the Porcini flavor was weak and a bit disappointing. However, the Gorgonzola cookie was delicious so I decided to buy it. The dough is made with Spanish rosemary flower honey and sandwiched with Gorgonzola chocolate. It's not really suitable as a snack with alcohol due to the honey, but it's quite delicious as a snack.
