(2016.7 revisit) Went out for lunch with colleagues. Despite having a company cafeteria where you can eat for around 500 yen, we decided to go out (laugh). As a food reviewer on Tabelog, I would prefer to dine out, but sometimes eating out is not necessarily the best option. If it's just going to McDonald's, then the company cafeteria is better. But on this day, we went to Bamiyan. It was so-so (laugh). It's slightly better than the company cafeteria, but the price is not that cheap, so the cost performance is meh. Now, what should I eat... I decided to go for mapo tofu. It's not the Sichuan style, so it's not that spicy. However, I wish it had more flavor and depth. The mapo tofu was lacking in taste. If I could eat it for around 500 yen like at the company cafeteria, I'd be happy, but it's still a decent price. In that case, the company cafeteria is fine, right...?
(2016.1 revisit) For lunch on this day, we decided to eat out near the office. Since Sanfuji was closed, we ended up at Bamiyan again (laugh). I forgot that Thursdays are their day off. We entered around noon, and it wasn't too crowded. I ordered the daily special set meal for 599 yen before tax. I also got the drink bar, but the coffee at Bamiyan isn't that good. I should have just stuck with the soup... The dish arrived without much wait. It was chicken in chili sauce. It was neither good nor bad, just average. The price is not high, but there's a sense of mediocrity. The daily special is cheap, but the other dishes are not as appealing. For this level of taste, I could have gone to places like Nichi-ya or Gyoza no Manzoku. It might be better to aim for a more appealing price or better taste... which one will they choose? In the current state, it left a mediocre impression.
(2015.9) ☆Fried Rice #212☆ Anka Fried Rice Not bad after all This day was spent working at the desk all day, but I decided to eat out for lunch. Initially, we aimed for Sanfuji but it was closed. So, we ended up at Bamiyan with six people. In the past, I had the impression that Bamiyan would be crowded during lunchtime, but we were seated easily with six people. Looking at the menu, there were five choices for the fried rice fair. It's nice to have a selection of fried rice. I was reminded of the Anka Fried Rice I had at Liang Shan Po, so I ordered the Anka Fried Rice with four-element pork. I waited while sipping on the soup that came with it. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The appearance was quite nice. The fried rice inside was quite moist, which is understandable with the sauce on top. The saltiness was just right. The sauce on top was not too thick or too thin, and while it lacked impact, the balance was very good. As I continued eating, I noticed a lingering aftertaste or something like that... this is something typical of family restaurants, isn't it...^^; I tried a bit of the regular fried rice that someone else ordered, and honestly, it was not that great. I think frozen fried rice from the store tastes better. But with the addition of the sauce, it turned into a decent fried rice. I didn't have high expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't bad. The service at this restaurant was also good.
