When returning from New Chitose Airport from the Shiroi Koibito Park, I decided to have dinner and found a nice Italian restaurant called Ristorante e Cafe Nao in Chitose city. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from the station, with a calm atmosphere surrounded by nature where you can enjoy your meal. First, I had an assorted appetizer plate with thick, creamy oysters from Akkeshi, marinated herring, and snow crab. The oysters were a perfect example of deliciousness, with a rich and creamy texture. The herring was packed with flavor, and the generous portion of crab made me instantly happy. The second dish was deep-fried Hokkaido natural ayu fish, served with cucumber-like fruit called Ajiuri and a cold corn soup. The crispy ayu fish was delicious on its own, but paired with the sweet Ajiuri, it became even more flavorful. The soup was elegantly sweet and extremely tasty. The third dish was pasta with saltwater sea urchin from Yoichi. It was light and showcased the natural flavor of the sea urchin without any unnecessary processing. The cold pasta was perfectly cooked and delightful. The optional spicy sauce added a different twist, but I personally preferred it without. The fourth dish was the main course, red wine-braised beef cheek. The tender cheek meat melted in my mouth and was incredibly delicious. The rich sauce enhanced the meat's flavor, and the potatoes at the bottom provided a nice contrast. For dessert, I had homemade milk gelato and Yubari melon. The melon was delicious, and the gelato was incredibly tasty. The melon had a simple yet delicious flavor and the gelato was fresh and refreshing with just the right amount of sweetness. I had a glass of white and red wine after sparkling wine. Although they only had one type of each wine by the glass, they were perfectly paired with the dishes. This restaurant offers meticulous dishes in a natural setting, and I would love to visit again if given the chance.

A hidden restaurant located along the Chitose River in the outskirts of Chitose, about a 15-minute drive from downtown Chitose. They serve Italian dishes made with ingredients sourced from Hokkaido, and everything we tried was delicious. The flavors of the Hokkaido ingredients were well-prepared and not just left to their natural taste.

A lovely restaurant in a one-story house, where tourists and visitors stop by in Chitose. It's on the way to Lake Shikotsu, and I stumbled upon it while looking at bus schedules. I thought, "Wow, I want to go there!" and I did. The Italian restaurant had a different vibe from what I expected, but the owner was charming. The interior was red, and outside the window was a beautiful garden. The menu was written on a portable blackboard. I ordered the B course for 2580 yen, which included an appetizer platter, homemade bread, Cacio e Pepe pasta, tomato cream pasta with Houbun Bay crab, dessert, and espresso coffee. The appetizers included eggplant in Western-style broth, corn soup, prosciutto, whelk, baguette with liver pate, and arugula. The Cacio e Pepe pasta was rich and delicious, with the perfect combination of cheese and pepper. The tomato cream pasta with Houbun Bay crab was outstanding, with generous chunks of crab meat. It was a pasta dish that truly allowed you to savor the crab. I would love to try the other pasta dishes as well. I felt like I would enjoy visiting this restaurant again in a different season. The chef's pasta dishes are surely all delicious. I enjoyed the tasty food and the Italian atmosphere. Thank you for the meal!

Lunch on the day of returning home. This place was introduced in an original ANA web content accessed on the inbound flight. It is an Italian restaurant located on a vast 6000 square meter property in Chitose, which has been open for 20 years. I didn't know about it. I made a reservation over the phone and decided to visit. Heading towards Lake Shikotsu from Chitose. The distance is not that far, but I thought it was a remote place, until I saw a sign in front of the North Country Golf Club where I had been a few years ago. Beyond that, there was a two-story house surrounded by green trees. It had a quite old-fashioned feel. The female staff guided me to the restaurant floor at the opening time of 11 am. On the left side of the large floor was what seemed to be the kitchen, and on the right side, a part of the 6000 square meter green landscape was visible. There were about three 4-person table seats strategically placed to enjoy the view. I thought it was nice, but passed through to the back space. There were four 2-person table seats. The windows faced the parking lot, so all I could see were lined up cars, and I couldn't feel the romance of the 6000 square meters at all. There were three lunch courses. After reading reviews, I expected to see a summer sea urchin pasta, but I couldn't find it, so I chose the B course with snow crab pasta. B Lunch 2300 yen (+tax) with a ginger ale drink. - Assorted appetizers - Homemade focaccia The appetizers included prosciutto, pork rillettes on bread, tomatoes, ricotta, and more. The focaccia was delicious, made with water from Lake Shikotsu. You could choose from 2 pasta options: - Hakodate snow crab tomato cream pasta Rich and flavorful with plenty of snow crab. - Yubari melon and panna cotta - Espresso After-meal drink was one espresso. A classic Italian meal. It's quite suburban, so in terms of value for money, it's reasonable. It was a shame I couldn't meet the chef on the way out. The 4-person table with a great view in the center was occupied by what seemed to be regular customers, and another couple arrived without a reservation. The other couple also sat at the 2-person table in front of the parking lot. Given the location of Chitose, where many people stop by on their trips to Hokkaido, if there are seats available with a good view, it may leave a much better impression and become a memorable experience. Thank you for the meal.

Having lunch with my daughter (*´꒳`*) We were the only customers at the restaurant, even though it was lunchtime on a weekday. We had three course options for lunch - A course for 1700 yen (appetizer, pasta, espresso, bread), B course for 2300 yen (appetizer, choice of pasta, dessert, espresso, bread), and C course for 3500 yen (appetizer, pasta, main dish, dessert, espresso, bread). We chose the C course because my daughter wanted to try the main dish which was the cutlet. The appetizer with pear, persimmon, and prosciutto had a strong sweetness and juiciness from the pear and persimmon, but the prosciutto flavor was a bit lacking. The recommended pasta with shrimp and bottarga had a good balance of saltiness from the bottarga, but I personally would have preferred a different pasta dish like Genovese. The cutlet for the main dish was a bit too much in terms of portion and balance - one piece would have been enough. The dessert was a pudding, which had a two-layered texture of baked pudding on top and custard pudding on the bottom. The service was smooth and pleasant, but it was a bit repetitive to have arugula as the side for every dish - appetizer, pasta, cutlet. Except for the mint in the dessert, all the green elements were arugula. Overall, the price was 3500 yen per person plus tax for this meal.

I wonder why they don't accept cards for lunch. The course without dessert is 1700 yen, while the one with dessert is 2300 yen. Is a small gâteau chocolat worth the 600 yen difference? The service from the female staff in the dining area was uncomfortably dry. I wasn't expecting the warm hospitality of the countryside, but I did hope for some level of warmth. I don't think I'll be coming back to this restaurant. To the restaurant staff: I recommend visiting restaurants in Tokyo and the metropolitan area to learn more about what good service entails.

In Chitose, there is an Italian restaurant on a vast 6000 tsubo property. It has been open for 20 years. The chef trained under Mr. Hidaka of "Aquapazza" 20 years ago. He even helped out during the filming of Iron Chef. During this season, you can enjoy a leisurely meal in a room with a fireplace. First, try the "540 potato and Hanasaki crab soup from Kutchan"... made with Kutchan potatoes that have been stored in a snow room for 540 days (1.5 years), making them very sweet, combined with slightly salty Hanasaki crab meat. A memorable dish. Next, "Hime salmon carpaccio, herring, and whale from Abashiri"... the whale from Abashiri makes an impact. "Boiled white asparagus with prosciutto"... a luxurious dish with thick white asparagus covered in prosciutto. It's impossible for it not to be delicious. "Buffoon sea urchin pasta"... with a base of sea urchin cream sauce and generously topped with buffoon sea urchin. A luxurious dish that makes you feel like coming to Hokkaido was worth it. This dish is a specialty of the restaurant and many customers come specifically for it. It can be served until the end of August. For fish dishes, try the "Aquapazza of golden eye snapper"... a Neapolitan dish where seafood is stewed with tomatoes and olive oil. The chef is skilled at this dish. The fish is so tender and the broth and fish oil are delicious. Next, "grilled Japanese beef, with the 540 potatoes from earlier finely chopped and spread underneath." The meat is tender and flavorful. For dessert, have espresso coffee. The dessert is a pudding with grapefruit and herbs on top. Enjoy it and feel quite satisfied. The restaurant is about a 10-15 minute drive from Chitose Airport. It's a good option for those coming from Tokyo, having a meal here and catching the last flight back. Be aware of deer and bears in the area. The sky is filled with stars, and in July, fireflies can be seen. If you're tired of city life, taking a break and visiting here might be a good idea. However, note that you cannot stay overnight here.

Between Chitose and Lake Shikotsu, when I asked the chef in Sapporo for a recommendation around Chitose, they pointed me to this place. The chef's course meal includes homemade bread, Italian prosciutto and hamachi blowfish fritters, wagyu ragu pasta, live-caught natural flounder aqua pazza, dessert, and espresso. The pasta and main dishes are delicious and hearty, with an Italian touch. The espresso here is the real deal, but they don't offer regular coffee. I'm quite picky about my coffee, and actually not a fan of espresso. I never saw the chef's face, and I wonder if it's worth coming all the way here by taxi at night. Maybe lunch would be sufficient.

Competition at The North in Chitose, I couldn't play today so I had to skip, and now I have some free time until the hole out. After finishing some work, I arrived right at the opening of the restaurant in the middle of the forest. It was not easy to notice this place, located just across the golf course. Following the road ahead, turning into a side road, the pavement ends and it becomes a gravel road. There was a restaurant where I went on a date with my boyfriend before. The owner welcomed me as I entered the spacious restaurant. There were three large tables in the front and four tables for two in the back, with a wonderful view of the greenery outside the window. This place is great for a date! For lunch, they offered three sets: A, B, and C. Set A had black pork ragu sauce pasta, Set B had 5 appetizers, and a choice of black pork pasta or sakura shrimp pasta, both served with dessert and espresso. Set C required a reservation. Intrigued by the sakura shrimp and appetizers, I chose Set B for 2,484 yen. The appetizers were incredibly luxurious with scallop salad, homemade smoked salmon, homemade prosciutto, grilled vegetables, and chicken liver pate on baguette. The pate was amazing, with a perfect balance of pepper and garlic. The smoked salmon was also perfect, and the prosciutto was delicious when wrapped with grilled vegetables. The scallop salad had a nice balance of acidity. The pasta was good, but I felt something was missing in the sakura shrimp pasta. The dessert, panna cotta, was delicious, and the espresso with cream was a perfect finish. The espresso was served in a demi cup with just the right amount, and adding sugar made it even better. I may have found the pasta a bit lacking, but I would like to try their regular dishes next time. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely visit again.

March 8, 2017. Lunch and weekday drive to Chitose Lunch Table. The restaurant has 3 spacious tables, allowing you to experience the taste of Hokkaido on the way to the store. Appetizer platter, rapeseed blossoms and anchovy pasta, espresso, satisfyingly voluminous lunch. The liver pate appetizer was delicious and paired perfectly with bubbles. The rapeseed pasta made us feel spring a little early. The freshly made hot pasta was delicious. It was a great experience. We were thrilled to see a fluffy raccoon with striped tail from the window. It was a restaurant where you can taste the essence of Hokkaido.

In November 2016, I visited a restaurant and shared some personal anecdotes about my favorite restaurants in Sapporo from my late twenties to mid-thirties. Among them, only one restaurant, "Heiseiken," still exists under the same name, but in a different location. The other restaurants were discovered through food review websites. I recently visited a restaurant called "Jun Divino" in Hidaka Monbetsu, where I was recommended to try by Chef Yasuda. The staff there mentioned that Chef Ando, who used to work at "Itaria Tei," is now in Chitose. I decided to visit the restaurant in Chitose and had a delightful lunch course. The appetizer included a variety of dishes such as burdock soup, prosciutto, marinated fish, rillettes, and oyster with tomato. The homemade bread was served with olive oil. The main course was clam pasta with mini tomatoes, leeks, and chives. The flavors were unique and delicious. The dessert, a pudding, was similar to one I had in Furano. The espresso was rich and had a fine crema. I met Chef Matsunaka, who was busy in the kitchen. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I enjoyed the food.

Today I am in Chitose for a dinner meeting with clients. One of them is from Germany, who I met during a summer business trip to Germany. We are dining at NAO, a restaurant located in the outskirts of Chitose. It is a spacious house with a large garden, and it seems to be an Italian restaurant. While waiting for my colleague to join us, I decide to have a glass of wine. I open a bottle of Italian white wine that has a bold flavor. Italian wines are so diverse in grape varieties and production methods, making it hard to remember. The German guest with us doesn't drink much alcohol, so he opts for an Italian beer to toast with. The dinner starts with a cold tomato-based soup with large fresh oysters, which surprises us with its sharp acidity followed by a spicy kick. Next is a salad with prosciutto, a classic dish that pairs well with the refreshing lettuce. Then comes a seafood pasta with sea urchin, offering a rich flavor with a hint of the sea. For the main course, we are served a steak on a bed of mashed potatoes, with the German guest receiving the largest portion, while I and my colleague get medium portions. The attention to detail is evident when the thin president of our client company receives a smaller portion. The chef even quickly prepared mashed potatoes upon hearing our conversation about Germans liking potatoes as a staple food. The creamy mashed potatoes turned out to be the most delicious part of the meal. We finish with a dessert, concluding a rare and delightful dining experience in the outskirts of Chitose. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Before starting my food blog, I had visited this place once before, and this is my second visit. Some gourmet followers have also visited this place. I had the Lunch Course B for 2,300 yen + tax. There are three lunch options available, and the B course is in the middle tier. It includes an appetizer platter, a choice of two pasta dishes, homemade bread, dessert, and espresso coffee. The appetizer platter consisted of prosciutto, gizzard, and celery, made with fresh ingredients that arrived that morning. For the pasta, I chose the pasta with thick clams from Akkeshi and mountain parsley. The pasta with Ezo deer ragout was also an option, which my companion chose. The pasta dishes were flavorful and generous with the ingredients. The homemade focaccia bread was warm, soft, and delicious even without added oil. It is made with Hokkaido wheat, seasonal fruits, raisins, and natural yeast by Chef Nao. The dessert, panna cotta, had a rich sweetness that paired well with the tangy berry sauce. The espresso coffee was strong and bitter, but very enjoyable. Despite expecting a more relaxed atmosphere, the dishes were served relatively quickly. There were only three reserved seats, and the other two groups of customers seemed to be regulars, chatting with the chef who resembled Ken Koba. Although I can't visit frequently, this place offers a lovely natural ambiance for an occasional luxurious lunch. Even the water tasted delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

There is a famous restaurant in Chitose called Nao. I had the lunch course there. In addition to the dishes in the photos, they also serve bread, which I couldn't resist having seconds of. Among all the dishes, the pasta is especially delicious! Everything is tasty though! It's a bit away from the town, but definitely worth a visit.

I visited the restaurant because a friend of the owner recommended it. It was a bit disappointing that the main purpose of my visit didn't seem to get through, but leaving that aside, I had lunch there. The food was fantastic and I was completely satisfied with everything. After the meal, I took a walk in the restaurant's garden, where there was a pond with large rainbow trout swimming in it. It was a perfect way to end the meal.

End-of-year work is finally over. Today's holiday, I was feeling quite tired, but decided to visit Chitose Rera for a change of pace. After finishing shopping, I stopped by a restaurant called "Ristorante e Caffe Nao" located in the outskirts of Chitose City. It is an Italian restaurant that was renovated from a farmhouse situated by the clear stream of the Chitose River, surrounded by nature. The interior of the restaurant is relatively simple, with a somewhat quiet and peaceful atmosphere. For lunch, you can choose from three course options priced at 1,700 yen, 2,300 yen, and 3,500 yen. I opted for the "A Course" priced at 1,700 yen, which included an appetizer platter, homemade bread, pasta with Erimo beef ragu, and espresso coffee. The appetizer consisted of prosciutto, arugula, broccoli, chicken liver pate, sliced Pecorino Romano with rusk, and marinated squid. The flavors were gentle and the ingredients' taste was well highlighted. The homemade bread was simple and authentic, perfect for dipping in olive oil. The pasta with ragu had a wild yet delicate appearance and taste, with a robust flavor that may be a bit too garlicky for some. The espresso coffee was particularly impressive, with a deep and rich flavor. Overall, the A Course provided a satisfying and filling experience for its price. The restaurant also had fishing lures and rods on display, hinting at the chef's love for fishing. Based on other reviews, the restaurant is highly praised for its focus on quality ingredients, particularly the fresh vegetables sourced from the Chitose River area. It seems to prioritize using local produce in its dishes, making it a recommended spot for enjoying delicious Hokkaido vegetables, especially during the green season. It offers a casual yet slightly upscale Italian dining experience, making it a unique find.

I was intrigued by the reviews emphasizing the quality of ingredients, so I decided to visit this restaurant. It was located quite deep inside and the road was dark at night, so I was a bit worried about finding it. The interior of the restaurant had a calm atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely dining experience. The 4000 yen dinner course included a platter of appetizers, prosciutto and edamame potage soup. The potage soup had a gentle bean flavor and was deliciously creamy. The prosciutto also had a nice taste. The pasta vongole looked appetizing with its colorful presentation, but it was a bit too salty and the flavors of clams and other vegetables were not very noticeable. The duck sauté dish was also too salty, and the coating was greasy. The meat was a bit tough as well. The panna cotta dessert was beautifully plated on a glass dish, with just the right amount of sweetness, and was delicious. Although the number of dishes was small, each dish was filling. I left feeling satisfied, but was a bit disappointed with the pasta and main dishes. However, since the course menu changes depending on the day, my experience might be different if I visit on another occasion.

Located about 10 minutes from Chitose City on Route 16 towards Lake Shikotsu, this Italian restaurant is known for its focus on fresh ingredients. The owner and chef, Mr. Matsuoka, insists on using the freshest produce, resulting in salads and pasta dishes that are bursting with flavor. The restaurant's setting, with a BBQ area and a park-like atmosphere in the back, is perfect for a leisurely stroll after a meal. The B Lunch Course (2,300 yen) includes a variety of appetizers, pasta dishes like Tripe Pasta and Shrimp and Zucchini Pasta, a homemade Panna Cotta dessert, and coffee. A recommended dish is the Shrimp and Zucchini Pasta, which impresses with its fresh ingredients and well-balanced textures. The dish is seasoned on the stronger side, but complements the freshness of the vegetables and pasta perfectly.
