Located one block away from Showa Street. "Please take any seat you like" - I chose the smallest private room available. It's okay to share a table if it gets crowded. I ordered a seafood rice bowl with less rice. The sashimi was delicious, but I'm not a fan of having it on hot rice.

<7.24-8.5 Small solo exhibition @ginzatappo> On the afternoon of Tanabata (7.7), I heard that the Japanese restaurant Mankiku was serving lunch. It is located near the Shimbashi Enbujou, in the Sakaguchi Ginza Building where Tsukaya is also located. I had no prior knowledge, so I checked the menu on the pavement before going up the stairs. I decided on the conger eel tempura set meal. As I entered the 2nd floor of the restaurant, I saw that it was bustling with locals. The summer sun was shining through the large windows, but strangely, I didn't get sunburned. The dishes were served promptly, and I received a variety of tempura including conger eel and summer vegetables like tomatoes, baby corn, and eggplant. There were also side dishes like spicy cod roe and miso soup, giving a sense of care and attention to detail. The conger eel tempura was crispy and delicious, especially when dipped in the daikon radish tempura sauce. The restaurant had a predominantly male clientele, but it maintained an authentic Japanese atmosphere. It was a fulfilling meal, and I left satisfied. I discovered another gem along Kikumachi Street. Bon appétit! "I'm captivated by the stars this summer." In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, junior and senior high school students from Tokyo, Ibaraki, and Nagasaki are participating in the Star Catch Contest, a celestial observation competition using handmade telescopes. It's like a drama where the contestants connect through capturing stars. It's fascinating to learn about the changes in the North Star, the challenges of using the night sky as a competition arena, and how things that seem universal may not be so. It's enjoyable to shake up these perceptions. I didn't have such a wonderful passion during my student days, so I feel a healthy envy towards the characters in this story, motivating me to work harder. Where will I go tomorrow?

Today's lunch was seafood bowl in Ginza, it was delicious. I found this place by chance last week. Lunch is available from Tuesday to Friday. When I entered at 11:40, there was one customer ahead of me and three groups of customers. I was guided to a window-side sunken kotatsu table. I ordered the seafood bowl with extra toppings, which was served in 7-8 minutes. The sashimi included tuna, prawn, yellowtail, flounder, and sea bream, all fresh and delicious. The rice was white rice and the miso soup with prawn broth was flavorful. The lunch service seems to have started last week, so it might get crowded soon. It was a very delicious meal.

Unexpectedly, due to the self-restraint request during this corona period, we ended up being the only group dining at dinner time?! We had made a reservation in advance for the Kue Nabe course, which turned out to be quite voluminous! Originally, we were searching for "monkfish hot pot" based on Doraemon's request, but for some reason, when we looked at the restaurant's Gurunavi page, we found the Kue Nabe and decided on that instead! On the day of our visit, despite being a few minutes late for our reservation time, we hurried up the stairs and arrived! We were given a spacious, elongated tatami room all to ourselves, which already felt like a luxurious treat. We had reserved the "Mankiku Original Kue Nabe Course <7 items> (¥14,300)" and were served the following dishes: Appetizer...5 varieties (ice head pickles, boiled gelatin, white fish in vinegar, sardines in soy sauce, wasabi pickles) Sashimi...Kue sashimi with scallions Various grilled dishes...Fresh fish (that day it was thread-sail filefish) salt-grilled, lemon Kue Nabe...Fried dishes...Blowfish tempura, deer horn pepper Meal...Zosui (rice porridge), pickles Dessert...Seasonal fruit (strawberries that day) and vanilla ice cream. In between the courses, we decided to have some sake, and chose to share two 300ml bottles. The salt-grilled thread-sail filefish was a bit dry, but the Kue sashimi was delicious! It was a luxurious treat that I hadn't experienced since I had Kue sashimi in Hakata over seven years ago. The Kue Nabe was served earlier than usual because the broth was simmered for a long time to extract the umami flavors from the bones. The overflowing pot was filled with so much Kue that we wondered if it was really meant for two people! The white cabbage, leeks, and chrysanthemum greens were buried under the mountain of Kue, and we couldn't even reach the maroni chestnuts at the bottom! Additionally, the blowfish tempura was served, and my companion gave up. I bravely continued to tackle the mountain of Kue in the Nabe, and also finished the blowfish tempura! The meaty and flavorful Kue was so delicious that my companion regretted not eating more the next day. We should have asked for a takeout! The zosui was also delicious, even though we asked for a small portion. We should have brought a Tupperware and taken the leftovers home! The delightful dilemma of the Kue Nabe made us wish we had come with more people to share it with. Thank you for the wonderful meal! A Nabe dish alone would be satisfying. I might consider revisiting just for the Nabe.

I visited a Japanese restaurant in East Ginza for lunch, located on the 2nd floor of a building that also houses a Chinese restaurant called "Lanzhou". When I arrived at 11:30 am right after they opened, a male staff member greeted me warmly. Inside, there were table seats as well as raised tatami seating where you have to take off your shoes. There were various appealing menu items like tonkatsu and chicken katsu, but today I ordered my favorite, the fried horse mackerel set for ¥1,200. I was served hot tea while waiting, and in about 10 minutes, my meal arrived. The set included two large pieces of fried horse mackerel, shredded cabbage, tofu, miso soup, rice (with free refills), and pickles. It came with mayonnaise, mustard, and sauce, but I chose to eat it with just the sauce. The crispy coating and fluffy fried fish were delicious, although the fish itself wasn't very flavorful. It might have been nice to have tartar sauce as well. Overall, the meal had a home-cooked taste and a cozy atmosphere. Since there were no other customers during my 25-minute visit, it felt like having a meal at home. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal!

Located on the second floor of a mixed-use building near Shimbashi Enbujo, about halfway between the Tokyo Metro Higashi-Ginza Station and the Toei Oedo Line Tsukiji Market Station, is a Japanese restaurant. I visited for lunch and had the grilled fish set meal for 1,000 yen, which came with side dishes, salad, pickles, and miso soup. They also offer options like potato salad for an additional 150 yen, natto for an extra 100 yen, and pork miso soup for 200 yen.

We used this restaurant for entertaining guests and it was excellent. The staff seemed very experienced in hospitality and showed great attention to detail. We had given them some snacks to pass on to our guests, along with separate bags for each, and when we left they had neatly packed each snack in its own bag. The food was fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions, leaving us very satisfied. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building and is a bit hidden, but inside there are three cozy private rooms with sunken kotatsu tables, and the staff are attentive. They also offer various seasonal menus, so we look forward to using this restaurant again.

I hadn't been there for a while and was surprised to see that they had added more sunken hearth-style tatami seats. There is only one table where you can sit without taking off your shoes. The menu mainly consists of fish dishes like sashimi set, tuna bowl, grilled fish. I ordered the fried horse mackerel. It came with two large pieces of fried fish, not too thick but not flat either. It was filling but lacked a juicy texture. I left feeling full but not completely satisfied.

Located between Shinbashi and Yurakucho, this restaurant is a bit far from the neon lights, but still just a little over a 10-minute walk from Shinbashi. The entrance is on the second floor of what looks like a mixed-use building. The interior is narrow, so don't expect a traditional Japanese restaurant atmosphere. However, the food is beautifully presented and delicious. It's hard to say if it stands out compared to others, but we enjoyed our meal. Especially since our drink bill was half off and the portions were quite filling. Despite the small space, the service was impeccable. There was a wide variety of Japanese sake to choose from, so we couldn't possibly try them all.

This is a Japanese restaurant located on the second floor of a building in a small alley two blocks towards Tsukiji from Showa Street. It is known for its generous portions, similar to the famous Chinese restaurant Lanzhou. The lunch menu is displayed at the entrance of the building, with set meals ranging from 1000 to 1500 yen, including sashimi set meals and tonkatsu set meals. I was attracted to the fried horse mackerel set meal (1200 yen) and decided to visit. The restaurant has a small and cozy atmosphere with a counter, table seating, and a sunken kotatsu-style seating area. The fried horse mackerel had a crispy coating and juicy flesh, with two generous portions. It was served with shredded cabbage and mayonnaise. I tried it with soy sauce, sauce, and mayonnaise, but the sauce was the best match for the fried horse mackerel. The meal also included a side dish of chilled tofu and pickles. The rice was cooked perfectly, and the miso soup with plenty of ingredients like daikon was delicious and nostalgic. The service was friendly, making it a relaxing dining experience.

I went to Manjiku for lunch for the first time. I ordered the marinated bowl, which was very generous in portion! Additionally, it came with tofu and natto, which is great for women! The miso soup had a rich flavor and was very delicious. The portion was generous and the price was affordable! Even a woman dining alone would feel satisfied. I ate at the counter and was able to chat with the chef, who was very friendly. The restaurant also has private rooms, so I plan to use them for business entertaining in the future. There were other lunch options that caught my eye, so I would like to visit again. Thank you very much!

Near the company, there is a Japanese restaurant. In June, I was taken by a colleague to have lunch for the first time, but amidst the busyness, this is my first review. The impression of the fried horse mackerel set meal I had last time was decent. In September, during lunch break, I felt like... I want to eat fried horse mackerel! → But I don't have much time, so let's go to Mankiku near the company! The restaurant on the second floor of a small building may be a bit hard to find. As you climb the stairs, you will immediately see the entrance. Inside, there are a few counter seats and two table seats, as well as a tatami space. The counter seats look quite cramped, so if you want to enjoy your meal in peace, I think the table or tatami seats are better. When I visited in June, the restaurant was full, including the counter seats, around noon. During my second visit in September, at 12:30, there was only one female customer quietly having her meal at a table. There are days like this too, and as someone who dislikes crowds, I was happy to have the other table seat all to myself (laughs). For lunch, they offer options like fried horse mackerel set meal starting at 1,000 yen, marinated fish bowl for 1,100 yen, grilled yellowtail set meal for 1,300 yen, sashimi set meal for 1,500 yen, etc. I ordered the fried horse mackerel set meal for 1,200 yen, of course. While waiting, listening to the satisfying sound of frying, the fried horse mackerel set meal arrived soon. Two pieces of fried horse mackerel on a plate with shredded cabbage. A small dish of simmered hijiki, rice, and miso soup set. There was a small dish with sauce in front of the tray. Mayonnaise was served with the fried dish. Now, my impression of the fried horse mackerel set meal is, to cut to the chase, just normal. The freshly fried hot horse mackerel is delicious, and the side dishes are not bad, but that's about it. I remember that last time it was tartar sauce instead of mayonnaise, was it downgraded? Considering the price of 1,200 yen, I thought it would be nice to have another side dish of sashimi. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but there were no other customers until I left that day. When compared to surrounding restaurants, I think it might be tough to compete with this content at this price. Customers are expecting surprises. Good luck.

I visited on a warm day in December. This time, I visited the new store of "Bankiku" in Ginza. The interior of the store is also beautiful. I ordered the meat and tofu set for lunch. It came with sashimi, so I ordered without hesitation. Yes, I am personally satisfied. The taste was as delicious as I expected. Probably, this level of quality cannot be found in chain stores. While writing on Tabelog, I also referred to the evaluations of other people. I was surprised by the strict judgments. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

A casual Japanese restaurant opened in 2014. It has a slightly traditional interior with a mix of table seating and a few tatami rooms, making it a good place for hanging out with friends. The lunch menu offers dishes like sashimi set meals, fish bowl set meals, and tonkatsu set meals ranging from 1,100 yen to 1,500 yen. I tried the "grilled salmon and tuna bowl set meal" for 1,200 yen, which was served quickly but the salmon was a bit too salty. The tuna was decent, and the option for extra rice was a plus. Overall, it was an average dining experience. It would be better if the prices were a bit lower. Good for a lively gathering with friends in the evening.

I happened to enter a shop I found that day. The interior was newly made and clean. No other customers. I was seated at a high counter, almost as if it was meant to bother me. The lunch menu included sashimi, rice bowl with sashimi, grilled salmon, etc. I wasn't in the mood for raw fish, so I ordered the grilled salmon and miso soup set. The salmon looked quite meager at first, but it was actually the collar part. A bit unusual. It had some fat, but still on the smaller side, and the skin wasn't crispy either... The miso soup was full of ingredients and tasted decent, but overall, it was very ordinary. If the salmon had been a regular slice or marinated in sake lees or miso, or if it had been the collar for making ochazuke, the impression might have been a bit different.

Opened in October 2014, this restaurant is located near Shinbashi Enbujou. It may not stand out much, but it's popular among Ginza office ladies and businessmen on weekdays. On this day, we arrived at a relatively quiet time, so even though oyster fry wasn't on the menu, when we asked for it, they said it would take some time but offered it along with grilled salmon, simmered dish, and pickles for 1600 yen. My friend had the grilled salmon and tsukedon set for 1200 yen. The grilled salmon, cooked thoroughly with salt sprinkled by the chef, was very delicious. And the oyster fry... the large oysters were fried crispy with coarse breadcrumbs. Dip it in tartar sauce and it's so tasty - the juicy oysters are irresistible. I would easily give the oyster fry a 3.5 out of 5. I wish there was a bit more tartar sauce though. However, the rice of the day was too moist and sticky, and the miso soup was average. The simmered dish was not bad, but that's why the rating went down. The tsukedon had a great flavor and was very delicious. There are many other menu options, but I recommend the fried dishes or sashimi and tsukedon.
