I revisited the restaurant to check why there aren't many reviews. Just like last time, I ordered the spicy set with extra rice. They used to have two staff members, but this time it was just one person and they were very busy. The taste seemed to have changed a bit, it was spicier than before, which was a big plus. Also, the rice was indeed served in a large portion. I ate too much and my stomach was full. Luckily, there were customers this time. By noon, all the seats were taken. It was good to see that. Spicy set for 1,100 yen.

A mother from Miyazaki Prefecture, who moved from Sanshuku, runs a chicken nanban specialty shop that serves juicy and flavorful dishes. The shop has been open for about 2 months since the relocation. There is usually a small line during lunchtime, with a few customers dining in. It's a bit late, around 12:40, and there is a sign at the entrance saying "5 servings left." You need to take this sign inside to order. Once inside, the sign changes to "4 servings left." It seems like they are trying to streamline the process since it's run by a mother and her child. You order and pay first, then pour yourself some water from the self-serve station and find a seat. The set menu includes Tartar Set for 1,000 yen (tax included), with rice, salad, and miso soup, along with Miyazaki's plain chicken nanban. I have tried the "Green Curry" and "Spicy" before, so this was my first time trying the plain version. The serving time has improved to about 7 minutes. The chicken nanban, generously topped with tartar sauce, is served with a large side of salad. The moist and juicy chicken thigh meat is coated in a sweet and salty sauce. The tartar sauce is filled with chunks of egg and onion. The four pieces of chicken nanban are quite heavy and filling, making the rice go down easily. The rice portion is not too large, but the generous serving of chicken nanban is very satisfying. The pleasant and efficient service from the mother and child duo, along with the delicious chicken nanban, is truly comforting. I'll be back next time to try the limited-time menu item.

At night, there is a restaurant called "Kuu" which seems to share the space with another restaurant during the day called "Tartare". Tartare specializes in delicious chicken nanban dishes, with a popular dish being the Green Curry Nanban. The dish comes as a plate with rice and a separate section for the green curry and chicken topped with a generous amount of tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was particularly tasty and seemed to complement the rice well. It's said that the restaurant relocated from Misuji area. The location might be a bit hard to find, but the portion of chicken nanban is quite filling on its own.

- A Chicken Nanban specialty store near Uchisaiwaicho Station. You can enjoy home-style Chicken Nanban prepared by a female chef from Miyazaki.
- The Chicken Nanban lunch comes with a simple salad of cabbage, lettuce, and tomato, miso soup, and rice set for 1000 yen, which is quite filling. Rice refills are available. A power lunch.
- Drinks are unclear as it is only open for lunch for now. Starting from April, they will also reopen for dinner service, but the menu will be more like an izakaya rather than Chicken Nanban.
- The interior of the restaurant is a bit simple, but it's nice that they focus on Chicken Nanban. I will definitely come back occasionally.
(Basic Information)
- Chicken Nanban
- 1-minute walk from Uchisaiwaicho Station on the Mita Line
- Budget: 1000 yen per person (lunch)

A "Chicken Nanban specialty store" that opened in Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato-ku. It's a place that has seen repeated temporary operations, but it's also a lunch-only store. I decided on the "Tartare Set" for 1000 yen from the 5 menu options, paid in advance with QR code payment, and the name of the store was displayed. As instructed, I prepared my own water at the table and sat at a two-person table. Using the disinfectant on the table, I waited. After about 8 minutes, a signal that the chicken was ready was coordinated with the serving staff by the "mother from Miyazaki", and the "Tartare Set" arrived from the storefront in 9 minutes. Although the chicken nanban was plain, it was quite filling. The rice portion was small, but with the clever use of accompanying vegetables and tartar sauce, you can feel satisfied. After 18 minutes, the table was full and I left.

Opened in January 2023, this chicken nanban specialty store is located next to the "Imari Chanpon Shinbashi" in Uchisaiwaicho. In addition to the regular chicken nanban "Tartare Set" for ¥1000, you can also choose the spicy "Umakara Set" for ¥1100, which includes ingredients like doubanjiang, and the "Green Curry Nanban Set" for ¥1200, which is served with green curry. On holidays, they offer a special "Ethnic Set" for ¥1200, which features Mexican sauce with avocado and cilantro. Upon entering the store, you place your order at the counter before taking a seat. I decided to try the intriguing Green Curry Nanban Set. Despite the slight crowd inside, my order arrived on a tray in about 10 minutes. The green salad with cabbage, lettuce, and tomatoes dressed in a soy-based dressing was refreshing. The chicken nanban was already swimming in curry sauce, and I noticed they used thigh meat instead of breast meat. While I usually prefer breast meat, the flavorful thigh meat was also enjoyable. The green curry had a gentle coconut milk flavor with mild spiciness, complemented by the tartar mayo adding a slightly salty taste. Each component was delicious, but it would have been nice if they were served on separate plates to fully appreciate each flavor. The portion of chicken was decent, but the amount of rice felt a bit lacking for someone with a big appetite like me. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. #Shinbashi #ShinbashiLunch #UchisaiwaichoLunch #ChickenNanban #GreenCurry #Tabelog

I saw a review on someone's Tabelog about a specialty chicken nanban shop near my workplace, and I couldn't help but feel the need to try it out (even though there was no real need ^^). As a Tabelog dad, I ordered the chicken nanban along with green curry! First, there was a delicious salad with plenty of dressing, which was a great source of dietary fiber that made my gut bacteria very happy♪ The chicken nanban was also very generous in portion, satisfying even a big eater like me♪ The green curry had just the right balance of flavors, so it turned out to be a satisfying lunch with rice after a long time. I was happy to see that a good restaurant had opened. I wonder if I should try it without rice next time (^^).

I was intrigued by the spicy chicken nanban and decided to try it for lunch. You can choose from 3 types of chicken nanban and pay in advance. I ordered the spicy set, which came with a spicy sauce, chicken nanban, and plenty of tartar sauce on top. The chicken was juicy and the tartar sauce was delicious. However, it's a bit pricey at 1,100 yen compared to a similar dish at another restaurant for 800 yen. You can get a large portion of rice, but it didn't feel like a significant increase in size.

Today's Poteranchi → [First] Green curry and chicken nanban go well together, no, green curry and tartar go so well together, it is a place specialized in chicken nanban located next to Imari, the champon shop I went to before. It seems that a shop that was originally in Mishuku has recently moved here, I didn't know, but I went a little before lunchtime and there were no other customers, but next door Imari had a long line. I thought it must be tough to start in a new location, but I entered. There was a regular chicken nanban set, but I was curious about the untried combination of green curry and chicken nanban, so I ordered it. The green curry has a unique mellowness of coconut milk and a fusion of spices, it is delicious, and it goes perfectly with jasmine rice. I tried eating the long-awaited chicken nanban and green curry together, and it was delicious. And the tartar sauce poured heavily on the chicken nanban mixed with the green curry on its own, but when I tried eating them together, it was also delicious. The green curry seemed to have met a new green curry with the addition of acidity. Today is Valentine's Day, and they gave me one chocolate, which made me happy and it was delicious. I was eating with my back to the inside of the restaurant at the edge of the seat, but when I stood up to leave after finishing my meal, I noticed that it was full. I thought that delicious restaurants are loved even when they change locations, I didn't know. I heard that the specialty chicken nanban shop in Sangenjaya has moved to Toranomon, so I decided to go check it out. The location is next to the famous champon restaurant "Imari". The shop has a cozy izakaya-style atmosphere that makes you want to have a drink. Around 12:30, it was about 80% full. There are not many reviews, but it seems to be a popular shop! Customers kept coming in one after another. You order and pay at the counter first. You can use PayPay. The menu has three options: - Tartare set (plain chicken nanban marinated in Miyazaki's sweet vinegar sauce) for 1000 yen - Spicy set (spicy chicken nanban with Sichuan doubanjiang and mala sauce) for 1000 yen - Green curry nanban (chicken nanban topped with green curry) for 1200 yen This time, I ordered the Tartare set. It comes with rice and miso soup. The chicken nanban, served on a tray shortly after, was marinated in a sweet vinegar sauce and topped with plenty of tartare sauce. There were four pieces of chicken, freshly fried, juicy, and very delicious. The egg-rich tartare sauce was perfectly balanced in flavor. It could be eaten on its own! The miso soup was simple but hearty, with lots of ingredients. The rice was freshly cooked and also delicious! The only downside was the shop itself. It might be a bit intimidating for a solo female customer to enter. However, I saw another solo female customer there. As I was eating, a line started forming! I thought I had to leave soon, but it turned out to be for the shop next door, haha!

A chicken nanban specialty shop run by a mother from Miyazaki Prefecture who recently moved from Sansaku. The last time I tried the green curry nanban and was impressed not only by the delicious chicken nanban but also by the high quality of the curry. When I peeked into the restaurant during lunchtime, there were two empty tables. I entered, placed my order and paid, then took my seat. (Cash and PayPay only)
- Umakara Set 1,100 yen (tax included)
- Comes with rice, salad, and miso soup
- I was intrigued by the spicy umakara flavor and chose this option. It was served in less than 10 minutes. The chicken nanban on the plate was covered with plenty of tartar sauce, revealing its huge size. It was much larger than the green curry nanban I had last time. I finished the salad first before digging into the chicken nanban. When I picked up a piece, I could feel its weight through the chopsticks. Placing it on the rice, it was about the size of the rice bowl. The tender and juicy chicken thigh meat wrapped in the umakara sauce-infused batter was delicious. The mellow acidity of the tartar sauce, the pleasant spiciness of the umakara sauce, and the deliciousness of the chicken combined to create an irresistible taste. I couldn't stop eating the rice. I was quite full even though the rice portion wasn't that large. The mother and son's service was also excellent. I'm sure I'll be visiting again.

A chicken nanban specialty shop that used to be in Sangubashi has relocated to Uchisaiwaicho. They are now operating out of a izakaya space and serving lunch. Originally, they shared the space with a curry restaurant called "Gokuri." I heard about their Green Curry Nanban, so I decided to visit for that. It was their second day at the new location, and while the neighboring Champon Imari had a line, this place had no waiting. I ordered the Green Curry Nanban for 1,200 yen (tax included), which came with rice and salad. The owners, a couple, were running the place, and the service was a bit slow, taking about 15 minutes to be served. The dish consisted of chicken nanban with tartar sauce, accompanied by fried vegetables, all surrounded by a coconut-scented green curry. The curry was quite watery and had a strong spice flavor, making it very delicious. The chicken nanban was very tender, and the combination of tartar sauce and green curry surprisingly worked well together. The texture was not crispy, but it had a unique appeal. The rice was a bit soft for my liking, so I hope they improve on that. Overall, the Green Curry Nanban was so good that I will definitely be adding this place to my lunch rotation. I wish them all the best in this office-filled neighborhood.
