It's been a while since I visited Yamachan! I came with a business partner. The usual place we go to is gone, but this place is still open, so it's our first visit. They are doing well! We talked about work while enjoying drinks. The tofu salad was quite substantial in size! The cabbage with sesame oil was delicious and I could eat it endlessly. Of course, we ordered the fried potatoes, which are a must-have item. We also added cucumbers and pickled radish for something refreshing. We talked a lot about work, so I ate less than usual, but I ended up drinking a lot and got a bit tipsy. Before forgetting what we talked about due to drinking too much, we decided to call it a night. Thank you for the meal!

On a Saturday afternoon after 4 pm, while taking a stroll around Shinjuku, I came across the comical sign of Yamachan and decided to enter. Since it had just opened, there were no other customers, creating a private atmosphere that made me forget about the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku. I didn't plan on staying long, so I ordered a Premium Malt beer (medium size) for 490 yen, Yamachan's miso cucumber for 350 yen, and the legendary chicken wings for 480 yen. After a toast with the beer, the dishes arrived promptly. The miso cucumber had a perfect blend of miso flavor and the freshness of the cucumber, making it a perfect dish for the hot summer. The beer went down smoothly. The legendary chicken wings, a Yamachan specialty with 5 wings per plate, weren't dripping with meat juice, but the right amount of oil and spiciness from the pepper made it addictive and perfect for snacking. The menu was extensive, reasonably priced, and versatile. Most importantly, as Yamachan proudly claims to be, the chicken wings are a Japanese fast food, as Yamachan kindly informed me.

The spicy flavor of the chicken wings goes well with beer! I can't help but keep reaching for more! The kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) with the sauce is also amazing! I thought it would be too sweet, but it's just the right amount of sweetness! The batter is thin and light, so even girls can eat without worrying about messing up their lipstick! I'd like to try the hot pot at this restaurant too!

I went with my colleague. The taste is intense. The two servings of chicken wings feel a bit small. Three glasses of shochu, three glasses of beer, various snacks, and more for nearly two hours for less than 5000 yen is just so cheap. When I come here, I usually stop by on weekends after watching a movie in Kabukicho with my wife. Sometimes I just crave for Yamachan's chicken wings. There are so many different menu items at izakayas, so it's very convenient to stop by for dinner. The chicken wings are a must-try, but I also really like their salted yakisoba. It has a light taste compared to sauce yakisoba, and I can't stop eating it because of the deliciousness of the salted sauce.

【Revisiting after 2 and a half years】I was accompanied by a smoker, so when we requested a smoking seat, we were directed to the third floor where a group of smokers were having a party...it was crowded and rowdy. They close at midnight, so we can leave before turning into Cinderella. Of course, we ordered "Hoppy" as our drink! We started with the refreshing "Octopus Salad" to fill our stomachs. The food menu is quite extensive at Yamachan, so we ended up ordering the "Salt Yakisoba" and "Bean Sprout and Mushroom Stir-Fry," which are quite similar. And to finish off, we had the rich and flavorful "Miso Cutlet & Hoppy refill!" We added a large amount of Hoppy during the last drink order, and were kicked out just after midnight. The salad never came, so I canceled it and paid the bill. The chicken wings tasted the same as the ones I had in Nagoya, and they were delicious. I still want to eat plenty of chicken wings at Yamachan.
