Ar. And. Bee Moppari, a limited company that operates various restaurants in Kobe, has expanded to Shinbashi. They are now running a standing bar on the site where the famous taimeshi used to be in Uwajima. A staff member from a nearby sake store mentioned that they also have a good selection of sake here. On our first visit, after drinking quite a bit at a work gathering, we decided to stop by for a little more. Each of us, being quite drunk, just wanted to choose our favorite sake. The staff allowed us to pick any sake from a refrigerated room that looked like a wine cellar, with about 20 different types of sake laid out. I chose the Rikyuu Hassenn Junmai Ginjo. We chatted and enjoyed our favorite drinks while making silly jokes, and then called it a night. The bill for just one drink was less than 500 yen per person, which seemed to stick in our drunken heads. So, on our second visit, on a day when work ended early, we arrived around 6 pm. The interior of the bar had a stylish and calm atmosphere, with a counter seat in the middle, standing tables for about 4 people near the entrance, and two-seater chair seats along the wall. Each spot at the counter had a small protrusion to clearly mark each person's standing position. We managed to secure a spot at the counter and chose the recommended Atago no Matsu Honjozo Senretsu Karakuchi sake. It was a refreshing and dry sake. Since it's a standing bar, there are no appetizers served. For snacks, they offered sashimi, yakitori, and sushi. The prices were a bit higher compared to other standing bars, but the quality of the snacks was worth it. We ordered the duck prosciutto and smoked saury. The duck was drizzled with olive oil, herb pepper, and balsamic vinegar, while the smoked saury had a smoky flavor with olive oil and herb pepper. Both were delicious. We also visited the refrigerated room twice to try Shimofuriro Man Junmai Ginjo and Hououbita Hatsushibori Junmai Ginjo sake. The staff poured the sake into small masu cups, serving 90ml each. The pricing of the sake was reasonable considering the quality. The atmosphere, good selection of sake, and tasty snacks make this place perfect for a pre-meeting drink or a quick last drink before heading home.
