I stopped by for a break while walking around the art festival, it was too hot. Coffee Sparkling ~ Rich Olive Flavor ~ (Limited Time) had plenty of olive oil in it. Olive oil in sparkling coffee... a unique taste! It was quite a strange flavor. Ice Coffee (Peru Florida Agricultural Cooperative, Limited Time) was easy to drink with little bitterness. It was so hot that I was able to gulp it down and revive.

On Saturday at 16:50, I was in Uguisudani and wanted to take a break while exploring the Ueno area. I stumbled upon Kuroda Memorial Hall, a cafe called Ueshima Coffee Shop. They have terrace seating as well. Upon entering, the staff encouraged me to secure a seat first. I was lucky to find a cozy sofa seat on the second floor, even though most of the seats were already taken. The atmosphere was pleasant with a diverse mix of customers including students, couples, and elderly groups. The iced coconut milk coffee served in a copper tumbler was delicious and just what I needed to relax. I'm glad I found this cafe - it was a great experience. Thank you for the meal! (人*´∀`)。*゚+

I love the atmosphere of this shop and have used it many times. It is bustling, but you can always find a seat, which is just right. The coffee, lemonade, crispy sandwiches, and waffles are all delicious. You can stay for a long time, so after visiting the art museums and galleries in Ueno, I always take a break here. You need to reserve a seat in advance before ordering!

I had been curious about this place for a while, more about the building than the artwork by Kuroda. I happened to get a digital QUO card, so I decided to stop by on a hot afternoon. There were two types of iced coffee, but I chose the cold brew. I secured a seat on the terrace and looked around the air-conditioned interior, which was not open. There was a bit of a delay in settling the bill, but I finally made it to the terrace. There was a lot of greenery and a cool breeze in the shade. It was cooler than I had expected. The iced coffee was delicious, but I was a bit surprised that it was over 600 yen at a coffee chain.

I have been to Ueno Park many times, but surprisingly I had never made it to the Geidai area. After finishing viewing the exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, I searched whether to have tea inside the museum or move on, and found that there was Ueshima nearby. The Kuroda Memorial Hall is a luxurious place with a cafe attached, designated as a registered tangible cultural property of the country. The interior matches the building with a Japanese modern style. The atmosphere is nice, with different types of chairs on the second floor. I was able to relax and enjoy my time there. Next time, I want to come early and see the free exhibition of Kuroda Kiyoteru. A must-visit place!

I visited the wonderful Tokyo Museum and the historic Senso-ji Temple, admiring the beautiful cherry blossoms. Finally, I arrived at the first Ujima Coffee Shop. My husband had mentioned that it's a very popular place and hard to get a seat. Luckily, there was an available table on the terrace today, so I was able to fulfill my wish and enter the shop. I was delighted to see the delicious cakes on display. I enjoyed my coffee while looking at the cherry blossoms falling and the impressive buildings of the subway entrance, Tokyo University of the Arts gate in the distance, and the beautiful greenery as the backdrop. The coffee served in a cup and saucer was delicious. The pepper on the pizza toast added a nice flavor. There were many tourists, both Japanese and foreigners, walking around and everyone seemed to be having a great time. It was a warm day, almost sweating weather. Occasionally, a strong wind would blow, causing a cherry blossom blizzard. The sight of cherry blossoms dancing in the midst of new greenery was magnificent. It was a wonderful tea time.

Originally a favorite, Ueshima Coffee. The Kuroda Memorial Hall is located right next to Ueno Park, so it is generally crowded. I was able to find a seat at the right time. The atmosphere is nice, and the seating is comfortable. Some seats have outlets available, so you can enjoy your time there. This time, I had the classic brown sugar coffee. The price is reasonable, and I had a satisfying time.

In the midst of enjoying the art season, I visited three art museums. After viewing the exhibition "[Exploring Japanese Art] Imperial Family, Beauty's Treasure Box" at Tokyo University of the Arts, it was time for lunch. I quickly grabbed a bite at a familiar restaurant before heading to the next museum, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. This chain restaurant in the heart of bustling Tokyo seemed to have some advantages in terms of location and ambiance, attracting a steady stream of customers. Luckily, we were able to secure a table on the outdoor terrace due to the nice weather. I opted for the BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato) sandwich lunch set for 1,320 yen including tax, which came with a salad and a drink. I chose a hot coffee and added egg and cheese to my sandwich. The sandwich tasted delicious, but the highlight was the combination of the outdoor terrace seating and the company of my friend, making it a memorable dining experience. It was convenient to be able to use d POINTS for payment.

At La Cocorico Ueno Honten for Lunch on September 14, 2022
Whenever I go to an exhibition in Ueno, I struggle to find a lunch spot. This time, I went to La Cocorico located on the opposite side of Ueno's art museums, across the train tracks on the 1st floor of Sunroute Hotel. It is just a few minutes walk from Ueno Station Central Exit. This is actually my second visit. I remembered struggling with the chicken last time, so I was considering other menu options.
For starters, we had salad, Korean-style lotus root, cabbage salad, cold soup with chicken and potatoes, and cabbage and bacon. My friend took on the challenge of the half-sized chicken plate. It was a seductive-looking chicken. I opted for the Basque stew with hashed pork, with chunks of pork and paprika in a tomato sauce. It was quite a generous portion, but I managed to finish it thinking I'll be walking a lot afterwards. It was very delicious.
Afterwards, we went to the exhibition. We crossed a peculiar pedestrian bridge, walked over the train tracks at Ueno Station, and found our way to Geidai Art Museum. The view from the high road was great. The museum was surprisingly crowded for a weekday. And even though we had eaten a lot, we still took a break for coffee and cake at Kamiyama Coffee along the way. The cake had chocolate paste in the middle and was quite sweet.
We then visited the Kuroda Memorial Hall next door, admiring the beautiful staircase railing. We also explored the International Library for Children, enjoying the spacious environment and the view of the National Museum from the window. The spiral staircase was fun. Our Ueno tour concluded with a visit to the children's library, which was filled with books I had read before, making it a very enjoyable place. The spacious environment was especially nice. The doors, windows, and facade were all lovely.
We had a great day enjoying lunch and cake, with good weather. It was a wonderful day. Thank you for the meal!

The interior has a slightly Western-style feel, which fits well with the atmosphere of Ueno. It's exciting when the design of a store matches the area. There are various seating options like table seats, sofa seats, terrace seats, and counter seats. The sofa seats have a variety of sofas to choose from. Located near museums like the Tokyo National Museum and the National Museum of Nature and Science, it's a convenient place to take a break from museum-hopping. The BLT sandwich with cheese, as mentioned in other reviews, is delicious and satisfying. Just be prepared for messy hands and mouth, so having a few extra paper napkins would be nice.

On August 9th, we visited the Boston Museum Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, followed by a visit to the special exhibition "Unraveling Japanese Art" at the nearby Tokyo University of the Arts Art Museum. Before entering the museum, we took a break here. This time, we ordered the "Dessert Mille-feuille" (750 yen) and the "Coconut Milk Coffee" (680 yen) that were on the outdoor sign. It was a hot day, so we were glad to find an empty seat on the first floor. The Dessert Mille-feuille was a combination of blueberries from Nagano and milk coffee. Surprisingly, they went well together. However, I still prefer the combination of orange and milk coffee that I had before. The combination of coconut milk and milk coffee was exactly as expected, and I found it more comforting and to my liking. But compared to the previous orange milk coffee, this one falls slightly short in my evaluation. Overall, I would rate it a 3.3, and in terms of taste, a 3.2. After taking a breather, we headed to the exhibition.

Yaji and Kita's journey 1/5: My best friend and I have been friends for over half a century since high school and college. We meet a few times a year, and one of those times, we enjoy a short trip together. This time, we set off from Ueno in the rain, planning to walk around Yanaka and other areas. As we passed by the National Museum in Ueno, a cafe suddenly appeared. The ground around the cafe was adorned with vivid fallen cherry blossoms due to the rain. Folding our umbrellas, we entered the cafe with cherry blossom petals on top of our umbrellas. We ordered coffee at the counter and took a seat at a table. Outside the window was the Tokyo University of the Arts. As I placed a glass of water on the table, the way the light hit the glass created an interesting shadow on the coaster. In the past, when I was more ignorant, there was a time when I mistakenly believed I was drinking "Cat-Ja" coffee, but it turned out to be "Tora-Ja" coffee. I personally think that Gold Blend is the best, and I enjoy Doutor and FamilyMart coffee the most, so I can't differentiate between Blue Mountain and Mocha. Neither my friend nor I are coffee connoisseurs, but I prefer black coffee while he pours sugar and milk into his. Since it was a rainy weekday, there was only one customer on the first floor, and the second floor had no customers, creating a quiet atmosphere. We chatted about trivial things like "There are women's universities, but no men's universities. However, there are gay universities in our country." as we rested our bodies before setting off towards Sendagi. Inside the cafe, there were alphabet letters arranged on a plate, seemingly instructing customers to clean up after themselves. I jokingly remarked, "If you can understand the meaning, should you clean up? Those who can't read English can just leave it on the table." Walking around with two guys doesn't have the same charm. Perhaps next time, when I visit the National Museum with my beloved wife, we can stop by for coffee or tea.

Ueshima Coffee Shop has a different atmosphere in each of its stores. The location here is quite nice, near Geidai, Ueno Park, and the National Museum. As the name suggests, it is located in a corner of the Kuroda Memorial Hall, so just being there gives you a somewhat artistic, intellectual feeling. For simple folks like me, it's a great place for a mood boost. The staff are young and handsome, which is also a plus. It's recommended for a quick refreshment.

On Saturday morning at 8:00, I went to Ueno Park and entered Ueshima Coffee Shop on the first floor of the Kuroda Memorial Hall. After ordering a large coffee, I remembered that I hadn't eaten breakfast, so I also ordered pizza toast. This shop is actually good at making bread (the crust of the pizza toast is made of delicious sandwich bread), but the location of this shop is so wonderful that even such details feel small and insignificant.

Adjacent to Ueno Park, on the first floor of the Kuroda Memorial Hall, there are about 6 or 7 two-person tables in front of the shop. There are also seats inside the shop and on the second floor, but on a sunny day in spring or autumn, the terrace seats are truly wonderful. On this day, I had a morning set here at 8 o'clock in the morning.

The terrace seating location is fantastic. The deliciousness of the coffee and sandwich feels like it's increased by about 50%. Dining out is about enjoying both the location and the food. I recommend getting the morning set with a large coffee. It costs 970 yen.

The terrace seats are always full! The atmosphere during the ginkgo season is too wonderful, I wonder if you can see the cherry blossoms? Personally, I like it more than the Starbucks inside Ueno Park. The toilets are inside the Kuroda Memorial Hall on the 2nd floor, with sofas and a great view of Ueno Park. It's always crowded, so I came on a weekday afternoon. The terrace was full, but the 2nd floor seats were empty! There are power outlets available, and many people are working remotely. You can see the music hall of Geidai, and it's the best. With the reliable UCC coffee, I had a leisurely time for about two hours with a black sugar milk coffee.

I had errands in Kameari in the morning and then moved here. Ueno Park has many art museums and it's nice. The fountain adds a touch of elegance. It's a relaxing place. I got hungry around 3 PM for a late lunch. Starbucks was too crowded, so I found a nice café. I paid on the first floor and enjoyed my meal on the second floor. The sound of cicadas, the rustling of leaves in the wind. It was hot outside, but with the windows open due to COVID, it was nice to listen to the sounds.

I couldn't go far, so I wanted to feel a bit of greenery and went to this cafe. It was quite crowded around 2 pm, so I took a walk in the park before entering in the evening. However, due to measures against the new coronavirus, the business hours had been shortened, and they were closing in 30 minutes! I wish they had clearly displayed the change in business hours, even though the sign said 7 pm, they were actually closing at 6 pm. With little time left, I hesitated, but my throat was dry, so I ordered a decaf iced coffee. I was glad they had decaf. There was more than I expected, and it was a bit tough to finish in 30 minutes. I thought I should have gotten it to go, and while slightly regretting, I chugged it down quickly. But since it was close to closing time, there were few customers, and I was able to spend a relaxing time for a while.

On June 7th, I went to Yanaka for a cat adoption event, but it was too crowded so I had to give up. I checked the map and saw that Ueno Park was not too far away, so I decided to take a walk there. When I arrived near Tokyo University of the Arts, I felt thirsty and stopped by this place. I ordered an "Orange Milk Coffee" (540 yen) and my wife got a "Rich Milk Black Tea (with three kinds of honey)" (Ice, 440 yen). It was a refreshing and pleasant day, so we enjoyed our drinks outside. The Orange Milk Coffee had orange jam-like topping and cream on top, with a nice balance of refreshing acidity and sweetness. It was delicious. The orange flavor was strong, so I didn't really taste the coffee, but it was still good. My wife's milk tea was also delicious with a moderate sweetness, but it was less impressive compared to the Orange Milk Coffee. The surroundings of the shop were green and we could relax in the pleasant weather.
