Hello. This is Private Tsuchinoko. I felt like eating Mont Blanc, so I came to Doutor in Ueno. Today, it's for takeout. As I was looking at the cake case inside the store, I noticed a new item. Yes! It's the "White Mont Blanc." From the name, it sounds delicious, and it looks great too. I did some research and found out that it was released on December 15, 2022. When I got home and checked the box, the surface of the Mont Blanc was sparkling, which seems to be due to silver powder. The color and appearance give off a nice wintery vibe. I took a bite... It tastes like white chocolate! I really love white chocolate, so this is great! The sweetness of the Mont Blanc cream is also mild. The pie crust is made with "sweet potato dough." Hmm... I don't really taste the sweet potato though. The texture of the pie crust is moist. The portion is small, but I was able to enjoy it until the end without getting tired of it. I entered the shop because I heard they had Mont Blanc made with chestnuts from Kumamoto Prefecture, but unfortunately they were sold out. This is a store that I often visit. I went there around 3 pm on a Saturday. The store was about 90% full with customers, and there was a line of 5 people waiting to order. The store has counter seats and table seats, with acrylic boards installed on the counter seats. I did not check, but there seems to be a smoking booth where eating and drinking are not allowed. Since it was crowded, I saved a counter seat first and then lined up to order. Drink ordered on this day: Muscat Yogrun M size (530 yen tax included) Muscat Yogrun is a seasonal recommended drink. I had it once at another store last year. This Yogrun is a frozen drink with a yogurt-flavored base, using juice from Shinshu Shine Muscat grapes and adding aloe. The refreshing flavor of yogurt and the refreshing and sweet-sour flavor of muscat grapes combine to create a refreshing frozen drink. The texture of the aloe was not strong, but it served as a nice accent. The price for the same size last year was 430 yen, but this time it was 100 yen more expensive. I felt that Doutor is also being affected by the high cost of living. This store is conveniently located, so I often visit, but this time it was extremely crowded and the atmosphere was not relaxing. They don't have a small size for the usual blend coffee, only medium. I feel like having a small size would improve turnover. Despite that, the coffee served here is fresh, maybe a bit light. The store was about 80% full with customers. The store has counter seats and table seats, with acrylic boards installed on the counter seats. It seems that smoking seats have been removed, but there is a smoking booth (no eating or drinking allowed). Since it was crowded, I secured a counter seat first. I then sanitized my hands and placed my order. I ordered the Hot Morning Atsuatsu Ham & Cheese (420 yen tax included) with an iced coffee as the set drink. It was served in about 2 minutes. The Hot Morning Atsuatsu Ham & Cheese I had that day is a new menu item released on November 11th as a warm menu for winter morning sets. It is a hot sandwich with ham, cheese, and cut cherry tomatoes. The cheese used includes Samsoe cheese, Emmental cheese, and aged cheddar cheese, which melted nicely together. The thinly sliced bread used was soft and delicious. The bread was spread with whole grain mustard, which added a tangy and spicy accent to enhance the flavors of the ham and cheese. The ham was tasty, and the acidity of the tomato added to the overall deliciousness. The iced coffee was easy to drink with a balanced acidity and bitterness. Although the store's location in front of the ticket gate makes it a bit hectic with customers coming and going, it is a convenient place, and I would like to continue using it in the future. I ordered my usual German dog, delicious as always. Ketchup is a must. The coffee was a blend, black is the best. I was short on time, so I ate quickly and left. It was delicious. The tomato sauce with a hint of mustard gives it a light and refreshing taste even after eating. Priced at 360 yen (for eat-in), it's a bit cheaper than the Milano sandwich. It's on the smaller side, so it may not be filling enough for lunch, but it's perfect for a light snack. The allergen information includes wheat flour, soy, and sesame. It's not specifically recommended for strict vegetarians, but I, as a non-strict vegetarian, welcome this kind of product. I wonder if they could offer a menu using gluten-free bread as well?

I ordered the Honey Lemon Yogurt in a small size (380 yen including 10% tax) and enjoyed it in the store. The Honey Lemon Yogurt is a frozen drink with a yogurt flavor, topped with honey and lemon peel. The balance of lemon, yogurt, and honey flavors was really nice, creating a refreshing taste. The texture of the lemon peel added a nice touch. However, the regular-sized straw provided was too small to suck up the large lemon peel, making it difficult to drink. The iced coffee, as usual at Doutor, was strong and bitter, helping to wake up my sleepy body on a Saturday morning. I asked for a ketchup pack with the Lettuce Dog and secured a counter seat. I also charged my phone there, thank you! The L size drink kept the ice from melting for almost 2 hours, allowing me to stay longer. Visited on August 28, 2019 after having breakfast buffet at a hotel near Ueno Station where the coffee was lukewarm. Needed a little caffeine fix, so opted for a Blend Coffee S size at Doutor. It was hot! Just the way I like it.
